Sienna looked in the direction he had indicated and nearly forgot to breath. A boat indeed! The
vessel was rather large. She didn’t know much about boats, but it seemed that ‘boat’ wasn’t a large
enough word to do it justice.

“Are you sure that’s just a boat? I always thought they were smaller,” she commented.

Logan chuckled. “I guess the appropriate term is sport yacht.”

“A yacht?”

“Well, it’s a small one. It’s more for sport so it doesn’t have a lot of room on deck like the larger
luxury yachts do.”

Sienna just shook her head. She’d never been on a yacht before and was a little curious. It didn’t
matter to her if it was a sport one or one of the big fancy ones. She’d been on one or two small
fishing boats and some jet skis, but that was about it.

As they stepped aboard, she saw that he was correct on the amount of space on deck. There was
a hard top over an area with two seats, one of which was the captain’s chair. Was that right?
Captain? She knew large boats had captains, but she wasn’t sure about small ones.

She noticed some stairs and a door. “What’s down there?”

Logan glanced to where she was pointing. “The cabin area.”

“There’s a cabin area?”

He nodded. “It’s where I’m going to store our food and wine. Want to see?”

She nodded and followed him down the stairs. The area she stepped into was far more luxurious
than she would have imagined. The wood floor was shiny so she assumed it must have been sealed
with something to protect it from water. There was a small kitchen area and a sitting area. Small
round windows lined the walls. She noticed two doors up ahead.

“Where do those go?”

“The one on the left is the bathroom,” Logan said, as he pushed the door open.

Sienna peered inside. There was a small sink with a cabinet underneath for storage and a shower
that looked big enough for two. She blushed at the thought.

Logan pushed the second door open. “And this one is the bedroom.”

Sienna looked around him to check out the small room. There was a full-size bed that had
drawers under it and a small counter that she assumed was supposed to be a desk of sorts.

“The cabin is very nice,” she murmured.

Logan gave her his slow sexy grin. “I’m glad you like it. I like to take the boat out for a few nights
just to escape sometimes.”

“Oh? I guess it’s a little like a hotel on water.”

He chuckled. “A little.”

Motioning toward the kitchen, she asked, “Should I put the wine in the refrigerator?”

He shook his head. “I’ll do it. If you’d like, you can go back up top. I’ll be there in just a
minute.”

Sienna nodded and walked up the stairs. Sitting in the seat that wasn’t in front of the steering
wheel, she looked out over the ocean. She was enjoying the peace and quiet when a shrill voice
grated on her ears.

“Yoo hoo! Looggannn…”

A tall, leggy blonde approached the boat. Great, Sienna thought, just what she needed, one of
Logan’s girlfriends showing up. Sinking further into the seat, she wished she could disappear.

“Logan?” the blonde called out again.

Sienna wished that Logan would resurface. No such luck. Sighing, she resigned herself to her
fate and stepped out from under the hard cover.

“May I help you?” she asked the blonde woman.

The scrawny sun dried woman eyed her up and down, clearly wondering what Logan Drake was
doing with the likes of her.

“Where’s Logan and who are you?”

Sienna opened her mouth to respond, but was interrupted by the man in question.

Climbing the stairs back up to the deck, he heard Angie giving Sienna the third degree. Why
couldn’t the woman take a hint? He wasn’t interested! He’d told her that countless times, but she
just wouldn’t go away. Maybe having Sienna present could work to his advantage.

“Logan is right here,” he told the annoying woman with the whiny voice.

The blonde shot him a hundred watt smile and looked like she was about to climb on deck.
Logan quickly stepped closer to Sienna and put his arm around her waist.

She glanced up at him in confusion, but didn’t say anything. Sienna could feel the tension in him
and wondered if maybe he found the blonde to be as irritating as she did.

As the blonde climbed onto the deck and came closer, she eyed the arm he had around Sienna. “I
was wondering where you had disappeared to.”

Logan raised an eyebrow. “I don’t recall disappearing.” Looking down at Sienna, he asked, “You
knew where I was, right sweetheart?”

Sienna looked up at him in startled fascination. He’d called her sweetheart! She mutely nodded,
incapable of speech.

The blonde narrowed her eyes on Sienna. Masking her fury, she smiled at Logan again. “I
thought we could spend the day together. We never did get a chance to try out your hot tub,” she
said suggestively.

Hot tub? Sienna looked him questioningly. Who exactly was this woman?

“Angie, that was a while ago. I told you then, and several times since, that I wasn’t interested.”

“You sure seemed interested,” she said in a purr, her eyes glued to his crotch.

“I’m sorry if you got the wrong idea, Angie. I wasn’t trying to lead you on. We haven’t been on
a date in months and we won’t be going on one in the future.”

Angie’s eyes raked over Sienna with insolence. “Don’t tell me that it’s because of that fat cow!”

Logan growled low in his throat and tightened his arm around Sienna, gluing her to his side.

“She’s not fat and she’s not a cow.”

“Oh yeah? Then what is she?”

“My fiancé,” he ground out. He only hoped that Sienna wouldn’t correct him. He honestly
didn’t know what had possessed him to make such a statement, but it was too late to retract it now.

Next to him, Sienna was standing in stunned silence. If Logan’s arm hadn’t been around her, she
probably would have hit the deck. Fiancé? Her? Plain, frumpy, pudgy Sienna Blake? The man must
have been sniffing glue to have claimed such a thing!

“What?” Angie screeched.

“You heard me,” Logan told her in a calm voice.

Angie’s eyes flicked to Sienna’s left hand, which was wrapped around Logan’s waist. “Then
where’s her ring?”

Logan shrugged. “We’ve been in a disagreement over the size of the stone. Sienna wants
something understated and I want something big enough the whole state can see she belongs to
me.”

“Fine. You’ve made your bed, you can lie in it. But don’t expect me to be waiting for you. You
could have had this,” she said with her hand sweeping down her lithe frame, “instead of that whale
next to you.”

It took everything in Logan not to dump the pain in the ass overboard. “I think it’s time you left
now.”

Angie hmph’d at him and climbed overboard. When she was sauntering down the pier back
toward her car, he released a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. He chanced a glance at
Sienna and saw that she was pale and looked shocked.

Turning to face her, he wrapped both arms around her, bringing her close.

“I’m sorry about that. She’s been following me around for months now. The word ‘no’ doesn’t
seem to mean anything to her.”

Sienna looked up at him with wide eyes. “You told her we were engaged.”

“Um yeah, I did, didn’t I? Sorry for springing that on you, but she just got under my skin and I
blurted out the first thing that came to mind.”

Sienna shook her head. “But what if she goes and tells the first reporter she sees? This could ruin
you!”

“Why would it ruin me?”

“Look at me! If they think for one minute you’re engaged to someone like me, you’ll be
ostracized by your friends and colleagues.”

His eyes narrowed as he glared down at her. “First of all, there’s nothing wrong with you.
Second, if my colleagues put more stock in the woman I’m seeing than my work ethic, then I don’t
need them.”

“But…”

He silenced her with a kiss. His warm firm lips brushed across hers, stroking her soft full lips,
coaxing her to bend to his will. The tip of his tongue traced the seam of her lips, begging her to
open them just a little. When her lips parted, he slipped his tongue between them. His tongue
glided over hers, teasing her and building a liquid heat between her legs.

His hands were firm on her hips, pulling her against his erection. With her body flush against his,
her breasts were crushed against his chest. He felt every curve and wanted to feel more.

With a groan, he broke the kiss. Looking into her passion filled eyes, he brushed his fingers
across her cheek. Her skin felt like satin and her cheeks were flushed.

He gave her a slow smile and tucked her hair behind her ear. “You are so beautiful.”

She blushed. “No, I’m not.”

He tipped her head back so he could look into her eyes. “Yes, you are. If you doubt for one
moment that you’re desirable, just look south.”

Of their own volition, her eyes did just that. She gasped as she saw the proof of his desire
outlined by his swim trunks. Her eyes flicked back up to his face and she saw that he was grinning
at her.

“But what about that woman? What if she spreads the rumor that you’re engaged?”

He shrugged. “Would being engaged to me really be so horrible?”

“What?” Surely she hadn’t heard him right. He couldn’t be proposing!

“You’re not seeing anyone and I’m not seeing anyone. Would it hurt for people to think we’re
engaged; at least for a little while?”

“You want me to pretend to be engaged to you?”

He grimaced. “It sounds worse when you say it out loud than it did in my head.”

She shook her head in confusion. “But why? You could have your pick of any woman around
here. Why me?”

“You’re sincere, beautiful, caring, and honestly… you light me on fire.”

“You really think I’m beautiful?” she asked uncertainly.

Grabbing her hand, he pressed it to the front of his swim trunks. “Is there any doubt?”

She gasped and blushed. It wasn’t like she hadn’t been with a man before, but still… she wasn’t
used to men pressing her hand down on their dicks, especially when they were fully aroused.

“I want you more than I’ve wanted any other woman, Sienna. If nothing else, I’d enjoy you
playing the part of my fiancé because it would give us more time together, more kisses, and I
hope… a good deal of sex.”

Part of her wanted to pull away, but the other part… the other part was intrigued by his offer.
She’d always been a fairly good girl and done what she was supposed to do. Why not be a little bad?
She’d deserved it after all.

“Okay,” she heard herself answer. “I’ll be your pretend fiancé.”

He smiled at her before claiming her lips in another searing kiss. As his tongue tangled with hers,
he wrapped an arm around her, gluing her to the front of his body. He felt her nipples tighten as he
crushed her to him. He buried his other hand in her hair, refusing to let her back away from the
kiss. He sucked her lower lip before nipping it. His tongue delved between her lips again, sliding
against hers, tasting her, teasing her… wanting her.

Releasing her, he took a step back. “I think we’d better get going. If we don’t start this boat
soon, we may never go anywhere.”

Breathing heavily, she nodded and walked over to the seat. Collapsing onto it, she leaned her
head back. All she could think was “wow!” The man could kiss like no one’s business.

Her breasts ached, desperately wanting to feel his touch. She ached between her legs, wanting to
feel his hot, hard dick sliding into her.
