“Alex, its ok. I have heard that saying before and I am not offended though I am sure my mother might be a little put off but we just won’t tell her. Don't apologize for having a smart mouth, I like it...... a lot.” Finn replies with a smile and a wink. Shoot me now, I'm surprised I didn't just swoon.
“Well on that note, I will be going to bed soon and hope that mortification kills me in my sleep” I mumble back
“I wish you sweet dreams Alex, and I hope mortification does not kill you in your sleep because I would be entirely too bored in this world if you and your smart mouth left it” Finn responds over his shoulder as he crosses the room and walks smoothly through the door.
After running across the room and locking the bedroom door, I go into the bathroom and take a shower, hoping to wash some of my embarrassment off me.
Once I have taken the best shower of my life, I return to my room and find a piece of paper on the floor near my door. I walk over to it, pick it up and trudge my tired ass back to bed to open the note.

Face Flame On! This guy…he really knows how to make a girl blush! I bet he makes lots of girls blush, he has to be a total man whore. I must just be the fresh meat for him to toy with. I am sure I will be dreaming of him tonight as well, him and his smart, sexy mouth.
I toss and turn for what seems like an eternity until I finally fall asleep and dream of Mr. GQ model, goodie, I can't even catch a break while sleeping. And such an odd dream it was, Finn and I weren't doing much besides looking at each other and cuddling, not my most imaginative dream. I do recall he did tell me I was beautiful and he loved the smell of my hair, guess my imagination was too tired to come up with anything naughty. I wake the next morning to a knocking on my door as Egypt bolts over to it and growls. Glad to see she got her energy back.
“Just a minute, jesus” I mutter to the door as I drag myself up from the bed “whoever is knocking on this door better have a good fucking reason or I will NOT be responsible for my actions!” I yell as I stomp over to the door and yank it open. SHIT. No way. Noooooo this is not how I wanted to wake up!
“Hello Alex” Zack says from the door with a smirk as I stare blankly at him.
What. The. Fuck. Why is he here? I am greeted with the perfect smile, perfect hair, perfect body. Blonde hair, blue eyes and looks like Mr. All American, Zack, my ex-boyfriend. How did he know where I was? I thought the families kept these assignments a secret?
“Your sister is the door across the hall” I mutter angrily to Zack and try closing the door in his face, hoping he is here for Anja and not me.
“I will see Ajna soon enough, but I wanted to see you first thing” he replies and pushes the door back open
“I don't get why you are here and I don't get how you even found me in this bleedin castle! I probably can't even find my way out of here and YOU find your way not only in but to my frickin room!” Alright, so I might be freaking out a little. I hate seeing Zack. He is so hot yet such an asshole.
“Alex, calm down. Are you going to invite me in so we can talk or do I have to do that in the hall?” Zack gives me the All American winning smile and puppy dog eyes. Well at least Egypt isn't buying it. Even if I wanted to let Zack in, she isn't moving. Ha, suck it Zack! Egypt the cock blocker scores again! He hates Egypt and I am pretty sure the feeling is mutual.
“Sorry Zack, I just woke up, its not a good time right now-”
“Morning Alex” I hear from just behind me, which as usual scares the shit out of me. Where the fuck did Finn come from? Ooooh! I forgot about our connecting rooms! Damn that voice is so sexy it makes me shiver and gives me goosebumps. I just want to crawl all over that man like a stray cat. Damn I have a dirty mind first thing in the morning, I'm starting to act like a perv twins, ugh.
I look Finn up and down slowly as I process his sleeping attire, track pants and a white t-shirt, he could back a paper bag look good, “good morning Finn” I say with a sexy smile and wink over my shoulder. Two can play at his game.
“What the fuck Alex?!?! You haven't even been here 24 hours and you have someone in your fucking bed?!?!” Zack growls. Shit totally forgot Zack was standing right there. Oops!
“Zack jeez-” I start to explain but I am interrupted by Finn
“Well hello, I didn't notice you there, I'm Finn McTaverish, and you are?” Finn says in his deep, smooth voice that makes me want to melt, as if Zack wasn't just about to blow up
“I'm Alex's boyfriend, what the fuck are you doing in her room?” Zack looks as if he is about to rupture a blood vessel. Finn says nothing but just smirks his sexy smirk at Zack as if that is all the explanation he needs. And of course all of this is going down with me in a skimpy tank top and boy shorts with my ass cheeks hanging out and you guessed it, no bra.
Crossing my arms over my chest and hoping they can't see how chilly, or turned on by Finn I am, “Zack, you know damn well that I am NOT your girlfriend. You lost your claim to me over a year ago when you decided being single was more important” I hiss at him
“Alex, why don't you go change while I speak with your

-boyfriend” Finn says tightly while looking down at my body. Well shit, surely my boobs and ass are all hanging out and here I am having a yelling match with Zack while Finn ogles my goodies.
“Sure, good idea Finn” I smile slightly at him
Leaving the men to their pissing contest I stomp back to the bedroom to locate some clothes so I at least don't feel naked. Egypt, my faithful friend follows me while keeping an eye on the guys and still maintaining her glare. “Ugh E, why am I surrounded by idiots?” I sigh and make my way into the bathroom. While I am brushing my teeth I hear some loud voices, must be Zack and Finn haven't worked out their problems yet, whatever they may be, neither have a claim on me. I still don't get why Zack is here. I want to call Uncle Reed but I am sure he will have nothing helpful to say.
Once I deem myself presentable I stalk back into the bedroom and see Anja sitting on the bed with a ghosted look on her face.
“I take it you saw your brother? What the hell is going on?”
“I-I'm not sure but Carter showed up at my door earlier too and said he came over with Zack. Why are they here? Did Zack tell you?” Anja stutters out. Carter used to be Anja's boyfriend for about 4 years, if anyone was going to make it for the long haul I would have placed my money on them. Carter and Zack are best friends and Carter is my cousin. Around the time Zack and I broke up, Carter dumper Anja for a piss poor excuse. He said he needed to be single for awhile since he had eternity to spend with her so why rush it. Makes sense right? Not to the poor girl who got her heart broke. My guess is that Zack and Carter wanted to be single together and live up the single life.
“So where did the guys go? When I walked into the bathroom Finn and Zack were still trying to mark their territory, which is especially funny because I belong to neither of them.”
“Oh, they are still out there glaring at each other when I ran in here. Carter happened to be at the door when Alec came in through the sitting room so he was pissed when I opened the door and he saw Alec in there with me. So I ran down here to get away” Anja says in monotone like she is still in shock that Carter showed up. Well I knew that as soon as I saw Zack that Carter wouldn't be far away. That is the bromance of the century and they are rarely ever apart.
“Funny that is the same thing that happened with Zack and Finn. Talk about timing.” I laugh humorlessly. There isn't much else to do about this situation but laugh because it is utterly fucked up.
“LEAVE?! WHY WOULD WE LEAVE? WE HAVE KNOWN THESE GIRLS FOR OUR ENTIRE LIVES, YOU JUST MET THEM! WE ARE NOT LEAVING THEM HERE, THEY BELONG WITH US!!” Ah, well that solves that mystery, Zack is still out there and by the sounds of it he is super pissed. Oh well. I don't get why he is pissed about Finn being around me. We broke up 2 years ago and he didn't give a shit then and actually laughed at how upset and nervous I was when I talked to him about breaking up. I thought I loved him and had hopes for us until I just realized I was nothing more to him than an obligation due to our kind not being able to mate with other species. He didn't even care when I walked out the door crying. Now he is here claiming me like I am a piece of property?
I've had enough, so I stomp back out into the sitting room and take in the sight of Finn and Alec standing in front of my bedroom door like guard dogs and Zack and Carter are across from them with their arms crossed looking like the captains of the football team coming to rescue their cheerleaders.
“Enough of this bull shit. Zack and Carter, I don't know what the hell you both are doing here and I don't care! Its too early for this bull shit!” I yell at them. Turning to Finn and Alec “could you guys show us where we can get some breakfast?” I say sweetly
“Aye, we'd be happy to have breakfast with you lassies. Just follow us” Finn responds smugly
“Come on An, let's stop by your room and grab Phoenix on our way” I say as we start heading towards the door
“No Lex. Baby, you are not leaving with them” Zack says softly as he and Carter move to block our exit with their arms crossed.
“Zack, obviously you are hard of hearing so I will tell you again. You don't get to call me anything but Alex or Alexandra, you lost that right a long time ago and I have nothing else to say to you, so stay away from me” I glare at Zack. Turning to Finn I ask “can we go out through your room since my door way is blocked up by assholes?”
“Hey! Alex don't be mad at me just cause you are mad at Zack!” Carter blurts out causing me to turn swiftly and glare at Carter
“No Carter, I am pissed at you for what you did to my friend 'Bros before Hoes' right? Well the saying goes for girls except it would be something like 'Vajayjay's before Dicks'...or something like that, ready guys?” I ask Finn and Alec
Finn is laughing so hard at me that all he can do is nod and hold out his arm for me to take. Alec offers the same for Anja and we exit through Finn's door while Zack and Carter look like they are about to murder someone. “Finn, lock your door .” I whisper to him.
“Alright Alex, I would be more than happy to lock you in my room, all night and day” Finn rumbles back with a quirk of his eyebrow. Guess I asked for that one. Finn and Alec take us quickly down the hall to stop and get Phoenix from Anja's room and then we are back to the maze of halls. Maybe Zack and Carter will get lost and we won't have to see them again. I can dream right? Finally we make it to the dining room where there is a buffet of food lined up on the table. Wow they went all out.
“You guys didn't have to make this much food just for us” Anja says sweetly to Alec.
“Um, actually this is like this every day. We have a lot of people to feed” Alec mumbles
“Hey guys!” I call over to the twins who I see are sitting across from the other twins. Well, looks like something is going right for a change.
“Hey Alex and Anja! Check out the spread they have here. Good thing we have a high metabolism! Did you guys see Zack and Cater? I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them walking through. Where did they go?” Jace says after giving Anja and I hugs. Wow, he didn't even say anything pervy to Anja for a change. Maybe the twins are turning over a new leaf and moving on?
“Yeah, we saw them alright. Any idea what they are doing here? No one told us they were coming.” I reply as I load up my plate of eggs, bacon and hashbrowns.
Finn sits down next to me and slides a juice and coffee in front of me, I glace over at him with a questioning eyebrow “thought you might like something to drink but I dinna know what you take in your coffee so I got you juice as well” he replies with a blush. Awe! Sweet Finn...how different. Its so cute how his Scottish accent comes through from time to time. I almost wish it was a thicker accent because that would be even sexier but when you get to be alive as our kind does we tend to let go of accents. Who knows, in a thousand years from now the Scottish accent will be extinct, that would be a damn shame.
“Thanks Finn, that was nice of you. I take my coffee black, just like how I like my men” I snort and start laughing at my own stupid joke. I look over and see Finn looking perplexed and Alec with a blush creeping up his neck. Shit. I just did it again.
“Well guess you guys don't understand

saying huh?” I mumble. How do I even begin to explain that one? I don't even know where that saying came from, probably some stupid movie.
“What do you mean
THAT
saying? Was that a joke?” Finn asks with an intense look on his face. Why on earth is he bothered?
"Yes, Finn, it was a joke. Just something funny we say over in America I guess. I don't even know how to explain it” I reply as I look over to Anja and Jace for help who look as lost for an way to explain it as I am.
“Don't worry Finn, we don't even know any black nephilim!” Anja says cheerily. Jesus Anja! What the hell! Now who has word vomit. Now they probably think we are weirdo racists or something. God, this is so awkward!
“Sooooo what is the plan for today?” I blurt out, attempting to change the subject
Finn throws me a bone and replies “Alec and I thought we would take you around the castle grounds and the town. Does that sound alright?”
“Yeah, that sounds great! Right Anja?” I kick Anja cause I can tell she didn't even hear us as she stares at Alec with a dreamy look on her face. He is too busy jamming bacon in his face to even notice.
“Y-yes that is fine with me as long as we can bring the dogs. They have been cooped up too long and will probably resort to eating shoes soon” Anja says with a look of horror on her face. Of course that would be terrible if they ate one pair of her 25 pairs she brought. The horror of it!!
