Then I heard a scream.

Ellie jumped back and lo
ok
ed down the hall towards Jeff’s room. I lo
ok
ed over at the sofa and Jeff was already gone. He must have gone for a run…mother fucker had more to drink than me.
How the hell does he do that?

Ellie to
ok
off towards Jeff’s room and threw
the door open. I was right behind her. We both came to a halt when I saw Ari standing in her
pink sleeveless shirt and underwear
. Jeff was wearing th
e same jeans
he had on last night
but no shirt on
.

“You
MOTHER FUCKER! What the fuck were
you doing?” Ari screamed at Jeff.

Jeff lo
ok
ed like he had one hell of a hangover and Ari’s screaming at him was not helping. He also lo
ok
ed confused as hell.

Ari quickly started to put on her mini shirt and kept screaming at Jeff.

“I cannot believe that you slept in here with me!
I woke up to you SPOONING ME y
ou dirty bastard
!
Y
ou said you were going t
o sleep on the sofa and Ellie w
ere the fuck where you all night last night?”

Now Jeff really lo
ok
ed confused and
then he looked
pissed…..at me.

Jeff lo
ok
ed back and forth between me, Ellie and Ari. Then he narrowed in on me. He started to walk my way and I knew instantly what he was thinking. I threw my hands up in the air…..

“WAIT! Stop Jeff, nothing happened!” It must have dawned on Ellie what Jeff was thinking because she stepped in-between both of us.

“Get the fuck out of the way Ellie right now!”
Jeff hissed between his teeth.

“Jefferson STOP! NO
THING happened between us
. NOTHING!
I slept in his bed
and that is all we did was SLEEP! Gunner passed out as soon as his head hit the pill
ow.” Ellie said as she was trying
to push Jeff away from me.

“Jeff knock it off man…..you know me better than that!”

Jeff to
ok
a few steps back and ran both his hands through his hair and down his face. He turned to lo
ok
at Ari and his face turned white.

“Oh my god….did we….we didn’t…I mean oh holy shit.” He lo
ok
ed down
and saw that he was still dressed in jeans
and he sat down on the bed.

“WHAT?!
OH MY GOD! NO we did not have SEX you fucking idiot! What kind of girl do you thi
nk I am you mother fucking
dick
wad
? I can’t believe you thought….Oh that is just classic
Jeff
! And in the same bed you fucked Rebecca in too! Wouldn’t that have made my first time so fucking special? Drunk and in the man whores bed to lose my virginity, yep just like always dreamed it would be!”

“Arianna just shut the fuck up for two fucking minutes while I try to figure out how the fuck I w
oke up holding
you i
n my bed!” Jeff shouted at Ari.

Ellie and I just stood there stunned. Jeff lo
ok
ed back at me and then over at Ellie
and back at me again
. I just shrugged my shoulders. Fuck if I knew how he ended up in here.

“When Gunner and I came in from outside you were passed out on the sofa Jefferson so you must have w
ok
e up in the middle of the night and came to bed.
Gesh
, thank God I was in with Gu
nner!” Ellie said with a laugh.

Both Ari and Jeff lo
oked at Ellie
and gave her a dirty lo
ok
.

“What?
!
How weird would it have been to wake up with my brother sp
ooning me?!”

Ellie and I both started laughing. Jeff just dropped his head and I could tell he was laughing.

“Fuck off all
of you!” Ari said as she grabbed her purse
and walked out of the bedroom.

Ellie w
ent after Ari calling her name.

Jeff lo
ok
ed up at me and I walked over and sat down on his bed. We both lo
oked like hell and I’
m sure he felt as bad as I did.

“You don’t remember coming in here last night dude?” I asked as I lo
ok
ed at him.

He smiled at me with a big shit eating grin. “Nope
, no memory of that at all but
….
.
I’

“Oh fuck dude…

that’

Fuck
in
’ a
Gunner, this is the first time I have ever had a girl in my bed, all night and I never had sex with her! I actually enjoyed waking
up and smelling her right there.
At least I enjoyed for about thirty
seconds before she started screaming.

“Dude, tell me. I fucking w
ok
e up in heaven this morning. If I died today I would be a happy ma
n!” I said as we both stood up.

“Holy fuck what is happening to us?” Jeff asked as we made our way out to the living room.

“Hell if I know dude…hell if I know.”

CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN

E
llie……

Today was the day! I jumped up out of bed and made a bee line to my bathroom. It was working out perfectly living in the guest house on Ari’s parent’s property. We both had our own bedroom and our own bathro
om and best of all….we d
idn’t have to pay rent to live
here!

I had spent the night before last
over at Gunner’s again. That made three nights I had spent over there now.  I don’t think Jefferson was too happy about it but I assured him nothing was going on.
Ari finally got over the whole thing with waking up with Jefferson. She did tell me how for one brief moment she was thrilled to feel his hard on
pressed into her
and I had to stop her from speaking any further. Last thing I wanted to hear about was my brother

s hard on. EEEWWW!

I heard Ari grinding coffee beans and hurried up getting dressed. I put on a pair
of shorts and a UT football t-
shirt. Flip flops were going to be my choice for the ride out t
o the ranch. I was so incredibly
nervous about meeting Gunn
er’s grandparents. I noticed he
hardly ever talked about his parents. He would mention his mom every now and then but
never talked about his father.

Just then my phone rang. I ran over and picked
it
up off the night
stand. Right on time!

“Good morning Drew!
How did you sleep?”
I had gotten into the habit of calling Gunner by his real name first thing ever
y morning.

“Good morning sweetheart! I slept like shit without you here. How did you sleep?”

I let out a
laugh. “I slept
okay
but just sleepin
g with you for a few nights has
spoiled me. I miss waking up to your smile.”

“Jesus, same here Ells, you are all I think about when I go to sleep and all I think about when I wake up.” Gunner said with such tenderness in his voice.

There was not a day that did not go by that he did not make me feel cherished. I really was waiting for the floor to fall out. Things like this just didn’t happen to me.

“Are you
getting excited?”

“YES! I am packed and ready to go! I absolutely cannot wait to get going. How long will it take us to drive there?” I asked as I saw Ari walk by the bedroom with her cup of coffee in hand.

“Depends on how many stops y’all want to
make but it normally is about two hours and forty five
minutes.”

“I’
m really nervous about meeting your grandparents. What if they don’t like me? Or disapprove of you bringing girls out there! Oh
my gosh
that never even crossed my mind Gunner.” I said as panic st
arted to build up inside of me.

Gunner let out a laugh. I could picture him sittin
g on the sofa right now and that
beautiful cro
ok
ed smile and him throwing his head back as he laughed.
Hmmmm
…..I wish I was there right now.

“Ellie, I asked them before I even asked you if it would be alright to invite you and Ari out. My grandparent
s have a huge ranch house with four
bedrooms. Jeff and I will be in one and you and Ari will be in the other. Don’t worry. My grandmother is dying to meet you sweetheart
,
so please do not worry.”

I let out the breath I had been holding in. I wonder what his grandparents were
like.
I didn’t even know it they were his dad’s parents or his mothers. That was something I needed to know before I
meet them.

“So are these your dad’s parents or your mom

s?’ I asked Gunner as I saw Ari walk back by my door. She was talking on the phone to someone and did not lo
ok
happy at all.

“I never t
old you? I’m sorry Ellie. They’
re my father’s parents. I spent pretty much every summer growing up at their ranch. I love that place. My father
h
as a brother who has three daughters who use to join me every summer and boy did we all raise hell together. They were pretty much tombo
ys growing up with me
every summer. Man how we all use to love swimming in the Llan
o River,
watching my g
rams
make her famous apple pies and tend to her flower and vegetable garden. My gra
mps
taught me everything about cattle.”

“Do they have help on the ranch? I mean they must need help, I can only imagine how much work that must be. Is your father or uncle going to take over the ranch someday?”

Gunner let out a laugh. “Yeah they have help. Drake is the foreman and has been since I can remember. His two sons, Aaron and D
ewey
,
are the ranch hands. They’
re a good bunch of guys and would do anything for my grandparents. Drake doesn’t
get along with my father or my U
ncle Jim. Jim’s oldest daughter
Shannon is actually get
ting married
in the fall
here
in
Austin.”

“Why
does
Drake and your father and uncle not get along?”

“Not sure but I think
it has to do with the fact that they both left right after high school and never lo
ok
ed back. They made it pretty clear that neither one of them wanted the ranch nor anything to do with the ranch. Drake and my father use to be best friends. My dad joined t
he Army right after high school
l
eft everything behind, including his best friend.”

I just sat there. This was the most Gunner had talked ab
out his father since I met him.

“So, Jeff and I are going to be heading out in a few minutes. Make sure you pack a few pairs
of
jeans, a sweatshirt and boots
okay
?” Gunner said as I heard Jeff talking to him in the background. He was saying
something
about Ari not brin
g
ing her whole bathroom.

“Should I pack the new bikini
I bought from Victoria’s Secret
y
esterday?” I said very timidly.

“Fuck yes you should pack that or not…we could always go skinny
dippin
’!” G
unner said with a wicked laugh.

“You wish! See you in a little bit.
Be careful driving over here.”

“Always sweetheart, talk to you soon.”

I walked out into the kitchen and Ari was still on the phone. I quickly figured out she was talking to Jason. The lo
ok
on her face was priceless.
