“You’ll feel better afterward too.” He left her and grabbed a condom from the box on the nightstand. He took a moment, staring at the bandage on her leg. “Does it hurt?”

Addison shook her head. “The cuts weren’t deep.”

Mason settled in, briefly rolling the condom on his cock as he pushed her legs apart. He hooked a finger in her panties, tugging them aside before he pushed his cock against her wet flesh. Her pussy embraced him willingly. He shoved in, filling her with one hard thrust. Everything about him was hard and she liked that. He wasn’t a tender, let’s-cry-after-sex kind of lover. No, he fucked her like a dying man, and she was his lifeline. He pumped hard and fast, lifting her ass off the mattress to get deeper. She loved every minute of it.

“Maybe when I make you come, you’ll have something to be happy about today.”

“Doubt it.” His cock brushed against her G-spot. “Fuck me harder.”

He felt so amazing inside her and she pumped her hips to match his. He sank onto the depths of her pussy and ground against her. She gasped at the motion, watching as his teeth clenched tight, his control straining while she squeezed him. She could fuck like this forever.

“Shit,” he muttered and reached between them to brush her clit.

Addison cried out, eyes closing as the pleasure overtook her. Mason grunted, thrusting hard two more times before pulling out completely and tossing the condom. She barely had time to register what had happened before he knelt on the bed, cupping her head up for a kiss.

He claimed her mouth with his own, and God, he tasted good. She had no idea what the hell appealed to her about him so much, but, dammit, something sure did. She didn’t protest it either, not as much as she probably should.

He let her go and moved back, zipping up his pants. “Get your clothes straightened up. We’re leaving.”

Addison glowered at him, sitting up on the bed. “What?”

“Food?” he said. “That was our deal. You said you were starving.”

She straightened her clothing and watched as he put his shirt and cut back on.

“Where do you want to go?” he asked.

“Somewhere Italian.”

“Come on, then.”

Once they left, he drove to Bertelli’s Bistro in the heart of Tampa and parked. She let a smile escape and he saw it. “You’re actually happy? For the first time today? It’s a fucking miracle.”

She rolled her eyes. “I love this place.”

“I’m pretty sure it was the orgasm, but you can blame it on the restaurant if you like.” Mason climbed out of the truck.

She followed him into the restaurant and sat down at the table. He didn’t bother looking at the menu, keeping his attention on her instead.

“What can I get you?” the waitress asked.

“New York Strip.”

Addison glanced up from her menu. “I want baked cheese tortellini.”

He pulled her menu away. “A bottle of merlot as well.”

The waitress took the menus and left them alone. Addison clasped her hands and stared at him. “I’m not going to talk about the MC, but your goon is a jerk.”

He licked his lips. “Chuck? Nah. It’s customary for my goons to not speak to my women. It’s a sign of respect.”

Addison stared at him. “I am not ‘your woman’. And if he wants his ass saved again, you’d better be teaching your boys that a simple thank you goes much further than silence in the respect category.”

“Noted.” His lips quirked. “But you are my woman. After the nonsense you pulled tonight, you almost have to be.”

“Fuck that. There’s no ring on my finger.” Addison admired her hand then held it up. “Do you see a ring on my finger?”

Mason reached for her hand and brushed her ring finger with his thumb. “Do you want a ring on your finger?”

Their eyes met. He looked completely serious, which scared her a little. “If that is your proposal, it was terrible.”

He leant back in the booth. “Always bustin’ my balls.”

“You’ve got an inflated ego. Someone needs to knock you down to size.”

His legs framed hers. “And you’re the perfect person for the job?”

Addison shrugged, not liking where the conversation was going. Mason had a way of making her completely vulnerable without really doing anything.

“The club knows you’re my woman. Do I need to buy you a ring to get you to admit it?”

“I’m not your woman. You don’t care about me.” Addison stared at him. “You’re forgetting that I deal with criminals every day. You want what you want and you don’t care what you have to do to get it. I’m a pawn in your game. As long as I’m useful, I’m your girl. Once you find someone better, who the hell knows? Shit, you’ve probably already had a groupie service your needs today. What the hell do you want with me?”

“So I’m just a criminal client to you?”

She busied herself with glancing out the window at the traffic of Tampa. “You know I don’t.”

Mason tilted his head to the side. “You like me and you’re afraid I don’t like you back.”

She laughed. “Hey, Lila said that sucking cock is the way to get status. If that’s what it takes to be with you, then stick to your groupies, Mason. They ask for that lifestyle. More power to ya. It’s not me.”

“No, I think I’m on to something.” Mason held his finger out, obviously drawing conclusions about something. “That’s what the fight was about. You want my undivided attention and pout when you don’t get it.”

Addison scowled at him. “I do not pout.”

“Yes, you do.” Mason reached across the table and rubbed his thumb along her lower lip. “You stick your lip out, and everything.”

She slapped his hand away. “My fight with Kinsey had nothing to do with you.”

“Oh, Addy. Now, you sound like the groupies.” Addison stood and Mason grabbed her arm. “Don’t. I will make a scene if you try to walk away from me.”

Addison knew he probably would. Since this was her favourite restaurant, she didn’t want to be kicked out indefinitely. She jerked her arm from him and sat back in her seat.

“For the record, I do like you. I took you to my house, which says a lot. I’ve known Kinsey a lot longer than I’ve known you and she has never been to my house. I let you sleep in my bed alone, which says the most. I’ve never spent the night with Kinsey, or any other bimbo, for quite some time.” He held eye contact. “I do not do that for anyone, let alone some stuck up lawyer I’m going to dump the next day.”

She tried not to get offended by his comment. “You’ve made me your obligation.”

“No, sweetheart. My obligation is to keep you safe. I could leave you with my brothers and party the fucking night away.” He moved his hands back when the waitress brought them their food. “Instead, I took you to my home, let you sleep in my bed while I slept on the fucking couch with a hard-on.”

Addison rolled her eyes. “You’re never going to let me live that down, are you?”

“You didn’t shut up about riding on my bike in a skirt.”

He had her there. “Touché.”

He cut into his steak. He looked too relaxed. She supposed good sex did that. She felt pretty relaxed herself, but she’d also had some shots, mixed with the orgasm and now wine. Like everyone else, she just blamed the alcohol.

Addison stabbed her fork in her food. “So did you get that little slut to service you today?”

He laughed. “Wow.” He slid the knife into his steak and brought a piece to his mouth. “Just you today, Princess.”

“How long is that going to last?”

He met her eyes. “How long do you want it to last?”

“I just want to know where I stand.” She lifted her glass. “I don’t want to fuck you if you’re screwing around with ten other women in the same day.”

He wiped his mouth. “I slept on the couch with a hard-on.”

He said it like it explained everything. Maybe it did. She sat her glass aside and went back to eating. How long would his interest in her last? A day? Two? A week? A month? She doubted he’d had a relationship longer than a week. Or any relationship at all.

“Addy, what do you want me to say? I told you that you were mine. In my world that means that you’re the only one I fuck. Unless we’re outside Tampa then it’s sucking dick only.”

How romantic. Just what she’d always wanted to hear. “You leave Tampa often?”

He laughed. “God, you’re cute when you’re jealous. Just the fucking thought of it is killing you. I haven’t done anything and you’re already defensive.”

“I don’t get why you like her. She’s nothing but a whore.”

“I never said I liked her.”

“You’ve fucked her.”

He scratched the stubble popping out on his chin. “I like sex. Doesn’t mean I like her.”

Addison pursed her lips. Getting into it with him about Kinsey was not worth losing her good mood. She sipped more of her wine and went back to eating. Mason seemed oblivious and she got tired of trying to get him to see her side of things. The whole motorcycle world was a different ballgame in itself.

They finished their meal and left, heading south towards his house, she realised. She thought about protesting, but that would only land him at her house which didn’t seem like a better idea.

“How is my office coming along?”

“I start working on it tomorrow.” He reached over and brushed his hand along hers. “I’ve got my guy fixing your car too.”

She licked her lips. “Do I want to know how you have money to do all that?”

“No.”

“I figured that.” She laid her head against the window.

The truck fell silent and she nearly went to sleep. He hit the button to the garage door and Addison sat up, glancing around.

“You want me to carry you in?”

Addison snickered. “If I thought you could do it without being chauvinistic, yeah. I don’t think you can, though, so no. I can walk.”

His grinned. “You’re just afraid that if you get in my arms you won’t want to leave.”

“Yeah,” she opened the truck door. “That too.”

She went to the door that led into the house and waited while Mason turned the alarm off. He smoothed his hand down her back and they entered the living area. Addison made it as far as the couch, where she collapsed.

“Go change.” He slapped her ass. “We can lay on the couch and watch a movie like a normal couple.”

“A normal couple of what?” She glanced over at him.

“Go.”

She stood and kicked off her shoes. “Do I get to pick the movie?”

“No.”

Figures. He took the fun out of everything. She disappeared down the hall.

Chapter Three

Jesse McNally parked his car outside Forrest Park, a well-known hangout for the Skulls MC. He lifted the file he had on Mason Vaughn and glanced over it. With several arrests on Mason’s record, Jesse didn’t see what Addison found so appealing about the guy. He sat the file aside and stared ahead at the infamous Marco Fowler thrusting hard into some bimbo who hung around with the Skulls MC. She didn’t seem too shy about kneeling on the picnic table in a fairly public place while Marco shoved his dick inside her. Jesse took a deep breath, watching as she gripped the wooden top, her little moans sounding loud enough that Jesse could hear them from within car with the windows rolled up.

Sex. The more Jesse investigated the MCs, the more he realised that the girls who flocked after them had to give it up sooner or later. Which meant Addison would as well. Dammit, he hated the thought of Mason’s grimy hands on her perfect body. He hated the thought even more that Addison wanted it.

There was something about a man and a motorcycle that had women flocking around them. Jesse couldn’t quite figure it out. Not only did they treat their women as property, they had no respect for policing authority. The ladies loved it. They liked the idea of a bad boy, and really didn’t care how poorly the men treated them.

He reached for his coffee and picked up the folder he had on Marco Fowler. Not really a surprise that he and Mason were comparable men. Marco’s rap sheet included several stints in jail, a few years completed in prison. His father was Scout Fowler, one of the original founders of the Skulls MC. Another bad guy that Jesse wished he could take down.

The Skull’s MC sat on the north side of Clearwater and Jesse wasn’t entirely sure what their beef was with the Wicked Angels. Like most MCs, they fought over territory and who could sell the most drugs and where. It was another reason Jesse didn’t understand Addison’s obsession with them. She was on the right side of the law. Her father was a pristine judge that despised motorcycle gangs. Her reasoning had to be defiance against that, though she wasn’t a naturally rebellious person.

Jesse dropped his head back against the headrest. Addison was a killer lawyer in court, which is what had drawn Jesse to her in the first place. He liked how she sought and proved the truth. He liked how she gave the State Attorney a run for her money. No one in the State’s office wanted to go up against her. He actually thought that Robin Danielson, the State Attorney for Hillsborough County, Florida, gave her newest assistants cases with Addison as sort of a hazing ritual. It had been years since Robin had gone against Addison in court, and Jesse knew that only meant one thing. Addison had power, which was the exact thing Mason wanted.

Jesse stared at Marco’s flexing ass, watching as the man continued to pound into the woman he’d decided to fuck for the night. Jesse determined that he had to get Mason to show Addison his true colours. He knew the Skulls’ beef with the Wicked Angels could be the key to accomplishing his goals. After all, the best evidence came from what was right before you. How could she really deny Mason’s natural self when he showed her in person?

He just needed a plan.

Jesse glanced down at Marco’s folder again. Assault and battery. Armed robbery. Drug trafficking. Arson. Illegal firearms distribution. Most of the charges had happened in Marco’s hometown of Pensacola, where Jesse was sure Marco’s daddy had at least a few law officials in his pocket.

When Marco had first come to the Tampa metropolitan area, he’d wanted to buy Jesse so that he could get away with breaking the law. Jesse had to admit it, it had sounded like a tempting offer, but it was one he’d had to refuse. Marco’s kind of business would only get him kicked off the force for good if he even so much as violated his probationary period.
