Bayden hurried to obey. Technically, all he’d received were more words, but these ones promised actions were soon to follow, and they were beautiful.

In the bedroom, Bayden climbed onto the bottom of the bed and knelt there. Axel strode into the room. He didn’t even glance in Bayden’s direction. All his focus was on taking off his clothes and tossing them on the chair in the corner of the room.

Completely ignored, it was all Bayden could do to keep back a whimper and not plead for Axel’s attention. Finally naked, Axel came closer. He didn’t say anything—not with words, but his body language was loud and clear. He caught hold of Bayden’s wrists as he joined him on the bed.

In seconds, Bayden was on his back with his wrists pinned to the mattress on either side of his head. Axel loomed over him, partly supporting himself with his hands, but using the rest of his weight to pin Bayden in place. And he didn’t say a word.

Axel put his knee against Bayden’s legs, pushing his thigh between them. Bayden squirmed in the small space between Axel and the bed, moving his legs further apart.

Axel rocked his hips. Bayden’s cock rubbed against Axel’s abs. Bayden whimpered. This he understood. This made sense. After so many months of trying to work Axel out and trying to find the right words, it was bliss.

For a moment, old habits tried to force their way to the surface. Acting like he didn’t care what a human did to him, was easy and safe.

No. Bayden made himself ignore the siren call of the benign and familiar. He pulled lupine instincts to the fore, using them to block out everything life had taught him about humans.

He arched under Axel, pressing up against his body. Bare skin and strength filled Bayden’s world. He moaned his approval, letting Axel know how much he loved it all.

Axel’s mouth covered his. The kiss wasn’t sweet. There was no tenderness, no restraint. For the first time, it felt like Axel held nothing back. It was fierce and demanding. It made no allowances for Bayden’s inability to keep up.

It wasn’t Bayden’s job to prove a point. It wasn’t even his job to return the kiss. All he had to do was to accept the kiss, accept Axel’s dominance over him. Nothing could be easier.

A nip to Bayden’s bottom lip made him gasp. He rocked his hips in time with Axel’s thrusts, pleasure racing through his body.

Suddenly, Axel broke the kiss, he stared down at Bayden. Tightening his grip on Bayden’s wrists, he dipped his head again, putting his mouth to his ear.

“Mine.”

Bayden nodded. In that moment, when there were no thoughts and just his most basic instincts, it was true. He was as much Axel’s as any man, any wolf, could ever be.

“Make no mistake about that, pup. You are mine, every inch of you. I own you body and soul, and by the time I’m done with you you’re never going to want to look at another man or another wolf ever again. You are mine.”

The tone of voice went straight past any part of Bayden that had ever understood concepts and syllables. It was everything he’d wanted for so long, everything he’d been afraid of getting.

Every note was pure dominance, pure alpha. Bayden writhed on the bed, tilting back his head, exposing his neck in an instinctive display of submission.

Axel dipped his head and nipped at Bayden’s throat.

Bayden didn’t think. He didn’t need to. His body took over. Ecstasy burst through him. He jerked beneath Axel, pushing up against his body and tugging at the grip Axel had around his wrists as his orgasm tore through him.

* * * * *

Axel pulled away just in time to see the look on Bayden’s face as he came, damn-near untouched. His eyes were closed, his lips parted. He’d tipped back his head and arched his spine. His arms were tensed, pulling at Axel’s restraining hold as he abandoned himself to his orgasm. It was only luck that Axel didn’t come too—just from the sight of Bayden finally losing himself in the moment.

Bayden’s cum spilled between them, smearing against their torsos. As suddenly as it seemed to have overtaken him, Bayden’s orgasm ended. He collapsed back on the bed.

Axel grinned. He’d wanted to know what Bayden liked. That was a pretty clear answer.

There was nothing but satisfaction and peace in Bayden’s expression for several seconds. Then, Bayden tensed. He closed his eyes more tightly. When he opened them a moment later, Axel saw the horror in his gaze.

“I don’t want to hear an apology,” Axel said, before Bayden had a chance to utter a word.

Bayden looked down. He took a shaky breath. He tugged at Axel’s grip around his wrists. It seemed more about testing Axel’s interest in maintaining a hold on him than anything else. When Axel showed no inclination to release him, Bayden subsided.

“Look at me,” Axel ordered.

It seemed to take Bayden several life times, but finally he managed it. His uncertainty was just as obvious as his embarrassment. He was way out of his usual experience.

“You’re not in trouble,” Axel promised.

Bayden turned his face aside.

Axel released one of his wrists. Bayden instantly tried to squirm out from underneath him. Axel let more of his weight rest on him, keeping him pinned down. He moved Bayden’s wrists together and put one hand over them, just to let Bayden know he wanted them to stay there.

With his hand free, Axel turned Bayden back to face him.

“What’s the punishment, sir?”

Axel frowned. Bayden didn’t sound afraid of the prospect, but there was something very definitely off in his tone of voice—something more than embarrassment at having a hair trigger. “There isn’t one.”

“I didn’t have permission, sir.”

“You showed as much control as anyone could expect you to.”

Bayden pulled back as if he’d been slapped.

Axel automatically tightened his grip on him in case he was about to make a bid for freedom. “That statement has nothing to do with you being a shifter. I don’t expect instant expertise from anyone—human or wolf.”

That seemed to convince Bayden that he wasn’t specifically insulting a wolf’s control. It didn’t completely solve the problem. When Bayden glanced up at Axel he looked as angry with himself as ever. Even worse than that, right in the back of his expression, he looked heartbroken at his failure.

“I’m not going to punish you for doing something I like,” Axel said, his tone inviting no argument.

Bayden shook his head. “You like it when I do what you say and—”

“I like it when you submit to me,” Axel cut in. “That’s more important than obedience.”

Bayden squirmed against the bed sheet.

“Did you choose to come?” Axel asked. “Were you thinking about coming?”

Bayden hesitated before shaking his head.

“Did you do anything to make yourself come?”

He shook his head again.

“You came because…” Axel prompted.

“You…” Bayden peered up at him.

It was a short answer, but it was also complete. Axel had no doubt that Bayden’s orgasm had one cause. “And you think that means you failed to give up control to me, that you failed to submit to me?”

Bayden looked down. “I…”

“You were so focused on me and on your submission, there was only one person in this bed capable of controlling whether or not you got off. And that’s exactly the way I like it.”

“A human sub—”

“Wouldn’t be able to hand over control the way you just did without months of training.”

Bayden hesitated.

“Maybe humans are better at denying their instincts, at controlling responses themselves.”

Bayden quickly shook his head. Axel ignored the gesture.

“But wolves are better at following their instincts and handing over control to other people,” Axel went on. “I’m not going to punish you for showing me I have options I wasn’t aware of.” He smiled down at Bayden. “Because if there’s only one thing hotter than orgasm denial it’s orgasm control—not just what you can get through obedience, but the real thing, from pure submission.” Even as Axel said it, ideas raced through his mind of the fun he could have with that.

Bayden frowned. “I…I don’t understand, sir.” His breaths were shaky by the time he reached the end of the sentence. It was obvious just how much it had cost him to admit that, how much he had hated saying it.

“That’s fine,” Axel murmured, stroking his cheek with his free hand. “I don’t expect you to understand yet. You’ll see what I mean quickly enough.”

Bayden squirmed. “I can’t obey rules I don’t know about, sir.”

“The rules about not getting yourself off still apply. You’ll be punished if you sneak away and jack off—and it will be a real punishment—one that will teach you never to do it again.”

Bayden nodded.

“But, from now on, whenever we’re together, you don’t need permission to come; you just need to wait for me to give you the opportunity. I don’t want you to think about coming, or not coming, at all.”

Bayden nodded once, a sharp, jerky little motion. It seemed to indicate that he’d heard rather than that he agreed that the new rules were a good idea. He twitched his wrists, as if checking whether Axel still wanted to keep him where he was.

“You’re not allowed off the bed,” Axel ordered, but he released him and let him sit up.

Bayden pulled away, but he didn’t even approach the edge of the bed. He brought one knee up in front of him.

Axel wasn’t sure if he was aware that he was creating a barrier between them, but wolf or human, as body language went, it seemed pretty clear to Axel.

“Instincts,” Axel prompted.

Bayden didn’t even glance in his direction. “A human sub would—”

Axel sat up. “I’m not interested in a human sub.”

Bayden rubbed the back of his neck, obviously struggling to get his mental balance back. “My instincts just tell me to do what you want, to do what will please you, sir.”

“I want you to offer me whatever your instincts tell you would be best received,” Axel said. He was aware that he was pushing Bayden well out of his comfort zone at a time when he might not be able to handle it, but he was also sure that, if Bayden’s trust could be extended just a little further, it was what would get Bayden back on balance faster than anything else.

Bayden took a deep breath. His Adam’s apple bobbed. “Show, sir?”

“Yes.”

Bayden kept his gaze down as he turned and, dipping his body as close to the mattress as possible, crawled toward Axel. He headed straight for Axel’s crotch.

A blow job wasn’t a bad thing under the vast majority of circumstances. There was logic in wanting to get him off, since Bayden had already come. Axel was hardly heartbroken by the idea, especially after experiencing Bayden’s skill with his mouth the previous night. But Bayden bypassed Axel’s cock entirely. Instead, he lapped delicately at the smears of cum he’d left on Axel’s skin when he came.

Axel watched, completely fascinated, as Bayden cleaned his orgasm from his skin without any kind of prompt to do that. There was something very natural about his movements. For once, he seemed to have successfully forced himself out of the habit of second guessing himself at every turn.

Axel stroked his fingers through Bayden’s hair. Bayden paused at the first caress, as if uncertain whether or not he was about to be pushed away.

“Good boy,” Axel murmured.

Bayden went back to what he was doing with what might have been a little extra confidence.

Apology. Service. Submission. It was hard to tell exactly what Bayden’s actions represented. Axel smiled down at the top of Bayden’s head. As spotless as he liked everything to be, it could be a simple desire to clean up the mess he’d made.

Some of Bayden’s cum had smeared against Axel’s cock. Bayden cleaned that up too. His tongue worked against him in short, firm, strokes. It wasn’t necessarily intended to be sexual, but Bayden was licking his cock. Axel’s ability to set aside what something meant to a human in favour of seeing it from a wolf’s perspective wasn’t bullet proof.

He forced himself not to guide Bayden’s actions in any particular direction but to let him have free rein while he merely stroked his fingers through Bayden’s hair.

Once every drop was gone, Bayden paused and looked up at him.

“Feel better?” Axel asked.

Bayden nodded. Another glance up. Bayden seemed to realise that an explanation could be required.

“Even if you’d given me permission, it still wouldn’t have been appropriate, sir.”

Axel slid his hand behind Bayden’s head and stroked his neck. “Inappropriate because a sub shouldn’t…” What would be the right term? “Mark his territory?”

A touch of colour rose to Bayden’s cheeks making him look young and unexpectedly innocent. He nodded.

“What about a dom?”

Bayden shrugged, but his facade was imperfect. There was certainly something about the idea that appealed. It was worth noting for future reference.

“You don’t have to rush away just because there’s nothing left to clean up.”

Bayden glanced at Axel’s erection. “That wasn’t what you wanted when we came in here, sir.”

“Plans change,” Axel said, easily.

Bayden stared at the blanket for a second, apparently deep in thought. “Is it a human thing, sir? Not wanting to screw someone if he’s already…”

Axel thought about it. “Not necessarily. But wanting a blow job after someone’s started licking your cock—I guess that might be a human thing. You have a beautiful mouth, and an amazing tongue.”

Axel stroked his thumb across Bayden’s lips. Bayden’s tongue darted out and caressed the tip of the digit. Axel smiled, mostly because the move was all about instinct rather than a conscious decision to do what Bayden thought would please him.

Bayden in complete control of his every action might be impressive, but Bayden so focused on his instincts and his submission that he was unable to control himself, was the hottest thing Axel had ever seen.

* * * * *

Bayden wasn’t sure why Axel should be inclined to smile at him when he’d just screwed everything up, but it still wasn’t in him not to return the gesture. Axel being happy was the aim. Complaining about getting exactly what he wanted would be silly.

Axel had asked him so many times, maybe that made it okay for him to ask Axel. “Tell me what you like, sir?” he said, more softly than he’d intended.
