She doesn’t know, wait, was last night a dream?

“Morning Sammy.”

“Ready?” Jax asks. He is dressed in loose shorts and a singlet. Stupid, gorgeous man.

“Um, yeah.”

I reach up to grip my keys off the fridge, when I do my shorts trail down a little and Jax sucks in a breath. Oh, he has seen my tattoo. I quickly cover it up, but it

s too late. His eyes meet mine and he grips my hand, dragging me outside.

“You have my name tattooed on you? Since when?”

“Ages ago, it doesn’t matter.”

“Fuck.”

“Forget it, lets go.”

I begin running, keeping a firm, steady pace which he keeps up with. Asshole. I jog down to the beach, then start running along the sand. Finally, at the end, I stop. Jax is still right beside me.

“You run good.” He says panting.

“Yeah.”

“What’s up?”

“Really?” I hiss. “What’s up?”

He sighs and curses under his breath. “The kiss right?”

“The kiss? Is that what you c
all it? I…we…nearly
.”

“I was drunk.”

“That’s it? You were drunk?

He shrugs and I slap him.

“You pig! You’re taken; you know how I feel about all this, and you just decide I am good enough to molest because your drunk. Fuck you Jax.”

“You were fucking him, I could hear you. I was angry.”

“Yeah well in your face!”

He slaps me then, and I step back.

“Jax…”

“Fuck!” He curses. “Jade…sorry.”

“You want to know something?” I say, in a low icy tone. “I couldn’t enjoy it. Both times, I couldn’t find…I couldn’t come. He is an amazing lover, and I felt nothing. It's all your fault. Why did you come back?”

“You hated it?”

I growl. “
I just couldn’t… God Jax, why did you do that last night? Was I really just a crummy drunk move?”

“No, you weren't.”

“Then why?”

“I fucking wanted to, that’s why. You last night, in those tiny shorts and tits popping out the top of your shirt. You looked so god damned hot; I wanted to die. I needed to taste you, just once more.”

I stand there, mouth hanging open. “You cannot be serious?”

“I am.”

“My boobs were not falling out!”

He laughs then, loudly, freely. I can’t help but smile too.

“Ok, whatever. Can we just forget that happened?”

“You can, I can’t.” He mutters.

“You’re
taken Jax.”

“Yes, I am.”

“And it doesn’t bother you?”

“I didn’t
fuck you.”

“It was
wrong Jax.”

“Jade, Sammy and my relationship is err…different.”

“Different how? You like threesomes or swapping?” I laugh bitterly.

He doesn’t laugh.

“You don’t?” I gape, a shocked look on my face.

“We have…had others in our bed yeah.”

“WHAT?”

“She comes from a different type of world. She is very sexual.”

“JAX! She is not, I don’t believe you.”

“She is quiet and sweet but didn’t it seem odd she didn’t get jealous?”

That is true; she didn’t seem to get jealous.

“And you are ok, sharing her?”

He shrugs. “Occasionally we go off and fuck somebody different but mostly we just share our beds, so we are both involved.”

“You are sick. You would have never done that with me.”

“And I never would,  you were mine.”

I blink. “She is your girlfriend, I think that makes her yours.”

“Yeah but she has never wanted me the way you did, and I never cared that she liked to share.”

“Look, whatever. I don’t need to hear anymore.”

He grins.

“No Jax, do not even ask me to fuck you.”

“I wasn’t going to, Sammy is a little jealous of you. I don’t think she would like it. Last night was just…a moment.”

“Oh so now I am not good enough?”

“Believe me, your PLENTY good enough. Ask Jack.”

“Jealous?” I spit.

He pinches my cheek. “Maybe I am. Race you.”

He turns and flees, laughing; I chase after him. I leap onto his back, wrapping my legs around his waist. Oh this feels good, so good. So there we are, Jax giving me a piggy back while still running. I hadn't slowed him, not even slightly.

“You gotta toss me soon Watts, not even you are that good.”

He laughs. “Your bony ass, pfffft.”

“Hey, it

s not bony!”

“No, it’s squeezable.”

I shove my knees into his sides by tightening them. He slaps my leg, giving me a little jolt that goes right to my core. I whimper.

“Like that did you?” He asks, still running.

“No.”

“Did so. Changed your mind about being spanked, pretty girl?”

“I wouldn’t know, I haven't had much in the last five years.”

He tosses me then, shoving me off his back. I land in the sand with a thump and lose my breath.

“OW!” I cry.

He drops over me, his body flattening mine into the sand. I gasp, oh my he feels good.

“Careful, you are giving me a challenge.”

“How?” I say, in a squeaky little voice.

“Talking about fucking, stop it.”

“Go home and get some pirate, not like you can’t.”

His eyes blaze. “Yeah, but I can’t get it with…” his eyes trail over my body. “You.”

“You don’t want it with me.”

“Don’t I?” He growls.

“No, you don’t. You think you do, it

s just an oversized ego thing. Jack had me last night, so you want me now, if he didn’t take me, you would not want to.”

“Is that what you think?”

“Yes, it is. You moved on Jax; you said so yourself. If you wanted me, you would have found me five years ago. You didn’t. And don’t tell me you could not find me, you are a pirate.”

He narrows his eyes. “You really believe I left and stopped giving a fuck?”

“Yes, I really do.”

He stands, turns to the side and lifts his arm. I gasp, tattooed in large letters down the side of his body is my name. I sit there, mouth agape. My name is tattooed on him? MY name? No wonder he looked so shocked when he saw I had his name tattooed on me.

“W-w-w-when did you get that?”

“But…you were with Sammy then.”

He sits on the sand. “Yeah, I was.”

“Why…why then?”

“You changed me Jade, I never stopped thinking about you.”

“You didn’t?”

“No, and if you think I didn’t look for you, your wrong. I searched for years; I honestly couldn’t get a lead on you.”

“Oh. Why are you with Sammy then?”

He rubs his head. “I told you, she works with me. She is just easy, no big clingy attachment. She is easy going about sex, and me being with other women. I don’t care about her sharing; it just works.”

“Right,” I say, in a small voice. “I was too possessive right?”

“You were, but I loved that with you. With her, it’s good to have the freedom.”

“Do you love her Jax?”

“In a sense, yeah.”

“The way you loved me?” I croak.

“No. I will never love another the way I loved you.”

“Then why won’t you be with me again?”

He gives a pained sigh. “I told you, I won’t hurt you again. Ever. End of story.”

“So that’s it? You won’t even try?”

“I tried enough times. Move on Jade, you deserve to be adored.”

“I don’t want to move on.” I whisper.

“You have to.” He snaps.

“What if I say no?”

His eyes grow stern. “Don’t, don’t say no. Just listen to me for once. Don’t chase me, or beg me and force me back with you. I will hurt you. I won’t hurt Sammy, because she doesn't love me the way you did.”

“Just say it, say that I am not good enough instead of pretending that I matter!” I spit, tears flowing down my cheeks. “I am tough Jax, tougher than you could possibly think. You left me alone, to raise a child with a broken heart, and I DID. Don’t you tell me I cannot handle you, I
have handled you for over seven
fucking years pirate, and you have not broken me. Don’t treat me like some fragile little teddy bear. Just say it, SAY IT!”

I am screaming at him, my voice trembling. He grasps my shoulders, shaking me slightly.

“You are too good for me Jade. Always have been, always will be. I know your tough; I know I broke your heart and that’s EXACTLY why I will not go there again.”

“I h-h-hate you.”

“No, you don’t.”

I snatch myself from his grips and turn, running hard back towards the house. He doesn’t follow me; I arrive a good half an hour before him. When I walk in, Jack, my dad and Sam are sitting at the breakfast table. Noticing my red, puffy eyes they all stop talking.

“I’m fine.” I whisper.

“Aw, baby girl. What happened?” My dad says, and it is then I see he has his hand on
Sam’s
leg. WHAT?

“Daddy…what are you doing?”

He looks at Sam, then back to me. “
Err
, enjoying Sam.”

Jealousy rips through me, hard and fast. I know it should not matter, but I hardly get any time with my father, ever. And now…I have to share? I don’t want to share; I just don’t want to. Tears well again.

“Aw baby…”

“Leave me alone!” I hiss, storming up the stairs. Screw them all.

I am mid way through packing my bags, when I hear a voice singing loudly from the street. I hear Layla’s giggle below. What the heck? I walk down the stairs, and everybody is standing outside. Jax is back and is staring at the man on his knees in the front yard, with disgust. It is Matty, one of the men who has been chasing me. Layla is standing beside him laughing.

“Layla…” I hiss.

“Oh Jade, he had this planned, I had to bring him to you.”

Matty is singing some romantic love song, playing his guitar. I blush. All eyes turn to me. I walk over slowly.

“Matty, get off your knees.”

“Jade, please date me. I am begging you.”

I blush again, peering back at the onlookers. Jax’s eyes are blazing; he is jealous. Really? Hmm. I look down at Matty.

“Fine, one date Matty. I can’t turn down a man wanting me so badly.”

He leaps to his feet, and I laugh as he hugs me. “You are so beautiful.”

“Ok, enough of that.”

“When can I take you out, beautiful lady?”

“Saturday?”

“I will be around at lunch time.”

He puts his hands together as though he is praying. Matty is a gorgeous man, no doubt. Black hair, pale blue eyes, olive skin. He is very handsome.

“Thank you Jade.”

I hug him. “God Matty, you could have just asked.”

He flushes. “Well, I just did.”

“So you did, I will call ok?”

“Thank you.” He grins again before turning and walking off.

Layla grips my arm.  “Oh my god how romantic was that?”

I laugh. “It was kind of sweet.”

“What a poof.”

I turn and glare at Jax; he is so jealous.

“It

s more than you have ever done.”

He blinks in horror. “Whatever. Go fuck him. Do you good.”

I shake my head and storm back inside. I get my things and storm out to the car. Jax stands at the door, blocking my way.

“Get outta my way.”

“I am coming over later to see Lilly.”

“I am busy.”

“Jade!” He warns.

“Get outta my way, fool.”

He moves, and I slide into the car, throw it into gear and speed off. The house is quiet when I get home; Melody would have taken Lilly to school already. I turn all the lights on and make myself something to eat. Sitting on the couch, sulking, I check my phone. A text message from Jax. How did he get my number?

When can I see Lilly?

When I am ready.

Don’t dictate to me Jade, I want to see her this afternoon.

Anything else?

Stop being sarcastic. Just because your in a foul mood, doesn’t mean you need to take it out on me. Get over it.

I am over it Jax, FAR OVER IT.

Then why so snappy? I said I wouldn’t be with you again, I am sorry if you can’t move on.
