Sean petted the top of Jonathan’s head, smoothing his fingers through his friend’s hair. He didn’t want to push Jonathan, but lust swirled in his veins. Thinking had become nearly impossible. He wanted Jonathan’s mouth on his cock.

Jonathan eased down the front of Sean’s boxer shorts, exposing his dick. The cool air did little to quell the fever flowing through Sean. He braced his feet and leaned against the dresser.

“That feels good,” Sean murmured. He moved a hank of Jonathan’s hair off his face. “Touch me. Do whatever you want.”

Jonathan grinned. He curled his fingers around Sean’s prick and stroked. He didn’t say anything but instead, drew circles on his lips with the blunt head of Sean’s erection.

Sean forced himself to keep his eyes open. He wanted to tip his head back and simply enjoy the blowjob, but he also didn’t want to miss a moment with Jonathan.

“I want to taste you.” Jonathan licked his lips then flicked his tongue along the underside of Sean’s dick.

The nerve endings in Sean’s brain misfired. “Holy shit.”

“Yeah.” Jonathan opened his mouth. He sucked Sean’s erection to the back of his throat, going slow and running his tongue along every ridge and vein.

Sean tightened his grip on Jonathan’s hair. “That’s right. Suck me. Jesus.” He rocked his hips, easing himself in and out of Jonathan’s hot mouth.

Jonathan hummed, adding an extra dimension of enjoyment to the act. He bobbed his head. When he buried his nose in Sean’s pubic hair, he swallowed.

“Fuck.” Sean rolled his torso, working himself in and out of Jonathan’s sweet mouth. His balls tingled. He’d just whacked off the night before and shouldn’t have to come so fast. The theory was good, but in practice, he wanted to cum all over Jonathan and mark him.

“I’m…I’m right on the edge.” Sean loosened his grip on Jonathan. “I need to…”

“Come,” Jonathan said, pulling away long enough to gasp. He cupped Sean’s balls in one hand and used his free hand to stroke Sean while he sucked on him.

The combination of moves was just enough to shove Sean over the edge into orgasm. He shuddered and leaned forward. He tried to pull out of Jonathan’s mouth, but instead, Jonathan held him fast. He swallowed Sean’s load and even added a couple of extra licks afterward.

Sean’s knees refused to work. He wobbled and let go of Jonathan. He needed to sit down.

Jonathan sat back on his heels. “Nice.” He grinned and wiped the corners of his mouth with the back of his hand.

“Just nice?” Sean puffed. He loved the repartee they’d created. “I aim for great or at least wonderful.”

“I’m giving you space to improve and grow.” Jonathan slipped Sean’s deflating erection back into his underwear and pants. “You’re definitely a grower. I like it.”

The tiny vote of approval buoyed Sean’s spirits. He hadn’t planned to get Jonathan to go down on him, but he didn’t regret what they’d done. The blowjob had gone by too fast, but that did leave room to practice. They definitely needed lots of sweaty, hot practice. Sean slipped to the floor in front of Jonathan. He wasn’t sure how they’d managed to find each other and make the connection so fast, but he wasn’t knocking it—not any longer.

“Still hungry?” Jonathan reclined against the doorframe. “We don’t have to get food.”

Are you nuts,
he wanted to say. Hell, yes he was hungry for more than food. He wanted to be with Jonathan. “Let me put on my shirt, and we’ll go. My belly’s rumbling, and we’re having a good time.”

The tips of Jonathan’s ears burned. He looked away as he stood then disappeared into the living room.

“Wait.” Sean grabbed the first shirt he found and hurried after his friend. “We… Was that your first time?”

“Giving head?” Jonathan shrugged. “Nah.” His ears turned even redder, and the color filtered down his face to his neck. He swallowed hard. “When I was in college, a few friends and I used to get each other off. It wasn’t anything serious.”

Sean clasped Jonathan’s hand. “Serious or not, you’re good. Got me off fast.” He softly pinned Jonathan between his body and the trailer door. “I don’t care what you’ve done in your past. God knows I’ve got no right to judge.”

“Sean.”

“Say that again.” He loved hearing his name coming from Jonathan’s lips. “Please?”

“Sean,” Jonathan murmured. “It wasn’t anything. We were playing around. My friends wanted to know if they could be gay and if I could be turned.” He averted his gaze again. “Sorry. Too much information.”

“No.” He wrapped his arms around Jonathan. “Everyone experiments in college. As for turning you back to the light side, it doesn’t really happen unless you’re bi-sexual. I don’t care what you are. I like you. I want to go out tonight and get to know you even better.”

Jonathan’s lips parted, and he finally stared at Sean.

“Come on.” Sean pulled away from Jonathan long enough to tug his shirt down over his head. He picked up his pass, keys and wallet. “How far away is the sub shop?”

“Just a couple of blocks.” Jonathan had found his gumption again and wasn’t so skittish. He strolled away from the trailer and tucked his hands into his pockets. At a distance, his youth became more obvious. He kept his head low and didn’t say much.

“Ready.” Sean locked the trailer door then tucked his belongings into his front pocket. He wanted to drape his arm around Jonathan’s, but he’d seen the way the extra actor had done the same and was rebuked. They walked in silence up to the main gate.

The guard nodded. “Where are you headed out to?” He held up a tablet. “I need to mark it in case something happens to you.”

“What’s the name of the sub place?” Sean turned to Jonathan.

“The Funky Sub Shop,” Jonathan answered.

“That’s the name?” the guard asked.

“Yeah,” Jonathan said. “They have black lights and music posters all over the place. It’s legit and approved by the health inspector. It’s just a funky place.”

Sean grinned. He’d wanted to see the more colorful parts of Cleveland. Jonathan wasn’t disappointing on pretty much any account. “Did you want something? My treat.”

“If they’ve got a ham and cheese, I’ll take one. Thanks.” The guard opened the gate. “Be safe. I don’t want Tony on my ass because you got held up or shot or something.”

“It’s only seven. We’ll be fine.” Sean headed through the gate and waited for Jonathan. “We’ll be back.”

The guard nodded.

Once Sean and Jonathan got to the end of the block, Sean offered his hand. “Hey. I won’t bite.”

“I know you won’t.” Jonathan kept his hands in his pockets.

“Why are you being shy? Did I do something wrong?” Sean stepped in front of Jonathan, stopping their forward movement. “Talk to me.”

“It’s nothing.” Jonathan shook his head.

“Can’t be nothing. You’re not talking. What’s got you spooked?”

Jonathan groaned. “This…this is kind of my first real date.”

Sean didn’t say a word. He feared if he blurted something out, he’d either sound like moron or he’d hurt Jonathan’s feelings unintentionally. He smoothed his palm up Jonathan’s chest. “This is kind of my first date since I got clean and sober. We can have a first together.”

“You’ve been clean for three years.”

“I have, but this is a new beginning for me. I’ve got someone to be a better man for.” He sounded silly, but he meant every word. He slipped his arm around Jonathan’s. “You’re giving me a chance, and that’s a whole hell of a lot more than most of others have done.”

Jonathan bumped shoulders with Sean but didn’t pull away. They walked in silence for another city block. “Here’s the place.”

Sean nodded. Jonathan hadn’t been kidding. The Funky Sub Shop was definitely funky. Black lights shone down on the purple walls. Posters from a wide array of concerts had been plastered on the ceiling. The stools and tables were all different sizes, as if the owners had gone to a secondhand store and simply bought whatever was there. Rock music blared over the speaker system. Most of the tables were empty.

“What can I get you?” the kid behind the counter asked.

Sean scanned the menu on the far wall behind the counter. “I need a ham and cheese and one of the roast beef specials.” He turned to Jonathan. “What would you like?”

Jonathan slid his gaze over to Sean for a moment. “Thank you.” He rested his hands on his hips. “How about one of the roast beef specials?”

“You got it,” the kid said. “Haven’t seen you in here in a while, Jon.” He smiled then got to work on the subs.

“Haven’t seen you in a while?” Sean whispered in Jonathan’s ear. He couldn’t help but feel a bit of jealousy.

“I used to come in every day for lunch when I worked as a courier.” Jonathan shrugged. “It was fast and filled me up.”

“Nothing wrong with hard work and a good meal.” Sean rubbed Jonathan’s lower back. “Working men are sexy.”

Jonathan rolled his eyes, but the corners of his mouth kinked. He grabbed some napkins and the cups. “What do you want to drink?”

“I’d love a root beer.” Sean paid for the sandwiches then carried them to a table near the window. He’d forgotten what it felt like to be anonymous. No one at the shop seemed to know or care he was there. He settled on the stool and waited for Jonathan.

“They put the extra one in a bag for us.” Jonathan tucked the bag against the window. “Don’t let me forget it.”

“I won’t.” Sean unwrapped his sub then paused. “What did you want to do when you were a kid?”

“Me?” Jonathan chewed the bite he’d torn off then swallowed. “I wanted to be a rock star.” He shrugged. “I couldn’t sing and ended up being thrown out of the school choir. That’s when I realized I wasn’t meant for musical theater, either. What about you?”

“I’ve been in the film industry since I was three.”

“Yeah, but was that all you’ve ever wanted to do? You said something about wanting to go to college. What would you study?”

Sean suppressed a snort. This was the most cerebral conversation he’d had with anyone in a long time. He wanted to both impress Jonathan and be himself. “The actor in me would say I’ve wanted to act for my entire life.” He picked up his soda cup. “But I’ve always wanted to study art. I had a role where I had to talk about sculpture. It was a movie where I played a college kid who obsessed with the Ming Dynasty. I had no idea what the hell I was saying. I’d like to learn exactly what I was talking about so I can sound intelligent.”

“I get it.” Jonathan slurped on his soda. “We’ve got company.” He nodded slightly to the side.

Three women and one guy stood at the counter. They spent more time gawking at Sean than they did on their orders. The blonde woman elbowed the guy then pointed.

“This happens a lot.” Sean finished his sandwich. “Most of the time, they come right up in the middle of dinner. I don’t get the chance to finish. Just watch. Those four will start then out of nowhere, at least a dozen more will show up.”

“Social media. One of them probably just texted a friend and so on and so on.”

“Just don’t go.” Sean reached across the table and held Jonathan’s hand. “Seriously. I don’t want to be left alone. I can handle the crowds and the people who surge to where I’m standing, but the moment I’m left to my own devices, I’m shit.” He’d never been that honest with anyone—not even Tyler.

“I can’t say I’ll stick to your side,” Jonathan said. “But I’ll do my best.” Just as he finished speaking, the foursome strode up to where they sat. The blonde pushed right up to him. She rubbed her breasts on Sean’s arm.

“You’re my favorite actor. You’re so…good on the screen.” She flipped a piece of paper onto the table. “Can I have your autograph?”

“Sure.” Sean glanced over at Jonathan, who’d been elbowed off his stool.

Jonathan stood off to the side, sandwich bag in hand. He smiled and waited against the garbage bin. That was not what Sean had wanted for the date. He’d planned to treat him well and for them to learn about each other. Jonathan was learning plenty.

“I want an autograph, too.” The guy offered his arm. “Right there. I’ll turn it into a tattoo.”

“Get together. Picture time!”

Sean wasn’t sure who produced the phone, but within seconds, he’d had his picture taken at least a dozen times. He groaned, but kept the smile. The fans wanted to see him happy and engaged in the activity, not cranky because they’d fucked up his date. God, his inner emo boy was coming out.

Please Jonathan, don’t decide I’m too high maintenance. Just stay. Please stay.

Chapter Seven

Jonathan shifted his weight from his right foot to his left. He should’ve known this would happen. Going out around town with a celebrity was risky. No matter where they ended up, someone would try to butt in on Sean’s time. He should’ve known he wouldn’t have the pizzazz to hold Sean’s attention. Jonathan could hear his friend Cody’s voice in his head.

You’ve got to get past your feeling of not being enough. Yeah, we’re young, but we can do whatever we put our minds to.

He swallowed his pride. Time to help Sean out and take what he wanted in the process. He nudged past the group of fans to Sean’s side. “Hey. You’ve got to get back to the set. The director called, and we’re late. Come on.” He waved at the fans. “Sorry.”

Sean held up both hands. “When he calls, I have to go.” He picked up his soda cup. “Come check out the movie. You’ll be glad you did.” He navigated through the group with Jonathan at his side.

“Tell your handler there, you don’t need a babysitter.” The girl cupped her breast. “You need this.”

Sean draped his arm around Jonathan. “Yes, I do need to get moving.” He leaned in close to Jonathan, sending chills up and down Jonathan’s spine. “I’m sure she’s not the one I need.”

“Oh?” Jonathan steered Sean down the street and out of the sightline of the sub shop patrons. “You don’t have to act for me. If you like that, then cool. Don’t let me cramp your style.”

“Jonathan.” Sean pinned him between his body and the far wall of the sub shop. “I used to like that kind of hero worship. I did. I’ve grown up or something. I wanted you to save me. I wanted you to get me the hell out of there so I could be with you. The whole point of going on a date was to spend time together with you, not spend time with those guys.” He grasped the belt loops of Jonathan’s pants, rubbing his groin against Jonathan’s. “I want you.”
