“Wait. Before we get out of here… what do you  think of
a quickie?”
he asked
, waiting for an answer,
a
nd pulled her closer to himself
and locked her in a tight embrace
.

Paige tried to get away from him
.

“Are you crazy
,
Jay? A crazy vamp
i
ress wants to kill us and you want to fuck?”

The boy took on a serious tone
.

“Listen
,
Paige, I know like it might seem
to be like a
bad time and place for it. But think of it this way: Those
can
be the
last moments we spend together.
Wouldn’t you want to die with fond memories on your mind? I would like to…”

Before the girl could say anyth
ing, he kissed her passionately
wh
at made her forget about everything
and let go into the flow of the
moment. She surrendered to Jay and wanted him to do
with her what he wanted.

And Jay did that – he reached under her dress and took off h
er panties
while she
was
unzipp
ing
his pants
. Then the boy kissed her again
and pushed her against the wall. When she covered him with h
er
legs, he to
ok her forcefully by the thighs
a
nd began penetrating her faster
and faster
. He observed with a satisfaction
that her eyes started
beco
ming
murky with
a
pleasure.

But when they were going to
have an
org
asm, they heard Carrie’s scream
and Paige pushed Jay away from her
:

“Did you hear that?”

Those
bloodsuckers can’t get in here”
Jay said
  and continued putting it in
.

After a while they h
eard the scream of their friend
again
and then a loud thump. T
hey stopped their intercourse,
quickly got dressed and went back to the main hall
.

“Jay
.
look!”
Paige
saw Carrie

s body lying near the baptismal font.   The
ir friend was as pale as a wall and unconscious.
Jay crouched and checked her pulse
.

“It’s normal”
he said looking at Paige with a questioning look
.

“L
et’s take the water and get out of her
e”
she said
.

They quickly filled the bottle with
the holy water and
started carrying Carrie on
out of the church
. When they left the church
,
the vampires ran towards them
.

“What happened?” Jacob
screamed.

“We don’t know. We
were searching
through the sacristy for a bottle for the holy water and we heard a screa
m but when we got
back to the main ha
ll, she was already unconscious
” Dalton said as he gave Carrie

s body to  Morton
.

“Do you have the water?”
Blake
asked.
Paige responded by showing him a full bottle
.

“We have enough time to get back to our mansion” Zack
said,
silent until then
. “
There
we’ll wait for the next night, in which we’ll kill Lilith.
We’ll destroy the evil
that she brought upon the world”

Chapter 10

Carrie had a splitting headache, it felt as if a demonic power wanted to get inside. Carrie hissed silently and raised herself on her elbows.  She
was
in a small room in which a small lamp was the only source
of light. The only thing she remembered before becoming unconscious
was
the
blood and Lilith crawling on the ceiling like a spider, although she had no idea whether it wa
s only a hallucination or not.
It all felt so surreal to her, although she was safe
now…
probably.

When her eyes got accustomed to the darkness
,
she saw someone’s silhouette
.
After a moment the myst
erious stranger sat next to her
and sh
e recognized Jacob’s head and realis
ed
that she was sitting on his
small bed.

“What… happened?”
she whispered
.

She felt a strong shiver when Jacob stroked her with h
is fingers
and although his hands were cold, she felt warm.

“You should tell me” he said
“You’ve scared the shit out of me when I saw Jay dragging your unconscious body from the church”

Carrie sh
ook her head and started crying
and  Morton hugged her tightly and started rocking her while humming a calming melody.

“It was horrible..”
the girl s
aid, crying
“She was there… and
the
blood,
the
blood, literary everywhere

Jaco
b didn’t stop stroking her hair
but at th
e same time became very tense.
How did Lilith get into a church? And then
he remembered Jonathans words.
Lilith is the oldest vampire in existence, nor
mal exorcisms won’t work on her.
Maybe holy places don’t harm her? Although maybe Carrie just imagin
ed things and no one was there?
, he thought to himself
.

“Everything’s okay now”
he whispered and covered her face with his hands, forcing her to look into his eyes.

Just tell everyone about this, and wait in the living room. We’l
l see what we can do about it”

He
delicately kissed her tears off and helped her get up

and then
they both left the room whi
le holding each other’s hands.
Carrie was happy
that she had Jacob
as she felt safe in his presence, although her attitude towards
the
vampires
was still colder than before.
Somehow she couldn’t accept t
he fact that he was one of them
and a part of her was still frightened, it understood tha
t he was ruthless and dangerous
an
d that she couldn’t be with him
no matter how much she wanted it.

While she
was walking
through the corridor, she noticed that it was just as dark as Jac
ob’s room – it was lit only by small candles
  and all the curtains w
ere shut.
Carrie  knew that it was probably
the
daytime and the vampires needed to protect themselves from
the
sunlight.

Nothing changed in the living room, except for the lack of sunlight and the fact that everyone was agitated by the current situation. When she and Jacob entered the room everyone
started looking at her intently
so
she took a d
eep breath and sat on the couch
between Jay and Paige. Blake le
aned forward and put his hand on
her knee
.

“Okay, Carrie. Now tell me
calmly
about everything that happened”

She didn’t want to go back
to that happening but she was aware that i
t could be an important el
ement in this convoluted puzzle
and she closed her eyes and concentrated on what she remembered. After a moment she told them everything in accordance to the images that moved in her mind like a horror movie. She felt the moisture of tears wetting her cheeks
again
but she didn’t open her eyes until she finished.

No on
e said anything for a long time
until Paige
finally
allowed herself to embrace her friend and wipe her tears
away
.

“Damn”
Jay
said
and this time no o
ne looked at him in a weird way
as they all agreed with him. “This is all my fault, if only I controlled my libido
, this wouldn’t have happened… T
he truth is that we found the bottle very quickly, it’s just that me and Paige… you know
… “
he looked down and Paige blushed. “But when we came back
,
there was no blood
n
or Lilith there. Everything was normal, except for the fa
ct that Carrie was unconscious”
Jay
added.

A
dead silence engulfed the room
as
Carrie observed
Blake nervously walk
ing
in circles.

“Damn Lilith and her gift of mind entry!”

“Are you beginning
regretting
something
, brother?”
Jacob  said, raising his eyebrows
.

Morton gave him an angry look
which calmed down rather quickly.

“If you really want to know… I regret a lot of things. I regret that I
let
myself to be used this way. I regret that I
let
her give me some of her damned powers” He clenched his fist so stron
gly that Carrie heard a crackle and then he extended them
and
said: “
I regret everything”

Do vampires have
a conscience? Are human feelings hidden so
mewhere in their damned souls?
Probably not, Carrie
thought. Only in
T
he Vampire Chronicles
by Anne Rice the v
ampires had so
mething similar to a conscience
but in every book they were quickly and deadly ruthless killing machines devoid of emotion.
No
wonder that Blake

s confession surprised her so much
.

Everyone
looked at Zack who started looking into the distance and shaking uncontrollably, his lips opened
slightly
and
started
moving.

“What’s
happening? What do you see?” Aidan
and the Mo
rton brothers got closer to him
while Carrie and her friends
were
just look
ing at him,
confused. Blake turned around and explained.

“Zack was a fortune teller while
he was
alive. He kept his a
bility after his transformation
and this always happens when he gets a vision”

“Lilith…
this evening… in the cemetery.
.. she’ll summon Aur
ora…”
Zack
whispered
in the gaps between his sp
astic breaths. His vision ended
and he closed his eyes while breathing smoothly
.

“Who’s Aur
or
a
?”
Jay
asked.

“It’s Lilith’s sister, the second oldest vamp
iress”
Jacob
said
. “Lilith will summon her using black magic and together they’ll try to take over the world and turn all
the
people into
the
vampires

It sounded a bit
like a macabre children’s story
but no one
wanted to
laugh
.

“So it looks like
the
holy w
ater won’t do much good here” said Paige
“Then what was that whole trip for?”
