Chapter 2

Meeting

*Rebecca*

Lucas’ house was small but very quaint. I loved how he had a cottage feel to it, in the middle of a city. A woman had to of decorated it. No man has this good of taste. I walked around admiring the beautiful hand sewn quilts draped over the couches and chairs. The brown sofas looked new but fit the rich beige embroidered walls. The curtains were made of the same colored quilt throughout the living room. If you couldn’t make it any comfier they had to add a beautiful large white stoned open hearth fireplace with a fire roaring, keeping the chilly air outside at bay. Lucas interrupted my admiration.

“I put your bags in the master bedroom. I don’t use that room, because it used to be my Mas’.”

I could see a look of sadness on his face when he said her name. Now I know why the house is so impeccably designed. Remembering I’m here to work we get down to business.

“So what was the backstory you were told you had to say?”

Walking away from me he stepped up the three stepped staircase and walked towards the large white oak double doors at the end of the hall. He opened them in unison and stepped in. Only then did he answer me as I followed waiting for an answer.

“Well the story changed when Mia told me you broke your hand by punching some ass hole. I hope he was worth it.” He said with a snicker and continued. “Now, I picked you up when you called me after my buddy in Atlanta broke your hand. I brought you here to take care of you and protect you. Which is a good story anyways, cause Gavin is kind of a bleeding heart when it comes to women being brutalized. So kudos to you. Shower is over
there, and your stuff was already put away in the closet when you were admiring the house.”

Looking back and forth between the bathroom doors and the closet, I only wonder when I get to meet the beefcake Gavin. If he is anything like his brother I am in for a treat. Lucas has this look of pained solitude to him. His grey eyes tell his feelings. His shoulder length blonde hair is just the right length to run my hands through it, and who knows, maybe pull it a little. His broad shoulders are just wide enough to completely cover me if I was laying underneath him.
Oh shit, what the hell is going on with me?
Just as I got my hormones in check I looked up to catch him looking at my tits. A doorbell rang from the living room.
Saved by the bell. Oh shit Gavin is here!
Lucas quickly walked out, closing the doors behind him.

I laid on the bed. Kicked my boots off so I wouldn’t ruin the comforter in such a nice king sized bed. Put my 9mm Beretta on the bedside table, clicked the TV on and pretended I didn’t care
what went on. I could hear loud voices getting closer to the door. A loud knock rumbled through the room. I sat up quickly as Lucas opened the door. Instinctively I reached for my gun.

“Whoa now sweetheart I’m not going to hurt ya. I’m only here to make sure you’re ok Darling.” Gavin said with his hands up in surrender. He smiled and I melted.

I almost lost it, I thought I would be prepared for how handsome he was just because I saw his picture. But honestly a picture doesn’t do him justice. I sat up against the wooden bed board, and pulled my hand away from my pistol. Gavin sat at the end of the bed and held his hand out for me to shake it. I lightly took his hand in mine with my good hand. Holding up the awkward cast on the other side. He reached across me brushing my leg with his strong arm. I could feel the butterflies welling up inside of my stomach. I know the blushing in my cheeks had to of given my true feelings away.

His short black hair had grown a few inches since the picture was taken, but his skin was just as kissable, and his eyes were even bluer in person than in a picture. The picture did no justice to his true size. He was broad, very broad, twice of me. His arms were as wide as my thigh was thick. His nose has obviously been broken but in a way that hurts so good. His neck has just the right amount of thickness without being creepy. His hands are rough but in a way that makes you want him to grab onto very sensitive areas. His outfit made it even worse. He was wearing a plain t- shirt, and jeans. But jeans that hugged every curve of him in a way that would make you drool.

After he reached over me I was finally able to pry my eyes off of him long enough to realize he was looking at my cast.

“Lucas said he had someone he thinks I should meet. Obviously you know my name, what’ll I call you Darling?”

After stuttering slightly I answered. “Rebecca, my name is Rebecca.” He took my good hand in his warm palm and kissed it.

“I hear you had a bad brush with your ex? Good thing my little bro is such a good guy, cause we wouldn’t have had this opportunity to meet.”

Just as I’m about to get all giddy we’re interrupted by Gavin’s cell phone. The obnoxious ringtone was getting on my last nerve as he held up a finger telling me to hold on a sec. I took that as a que to get my thoughts together before I blow everything. Unfortunately Gavin’s sexiness was clouding my thoughts. I was trying to pay close attention to what was being said but unfortunately I could only hear Gavin’s side of the conversation.

“What the hell do you mean that you don’t know where they fucking are?! You better find them before I fucking get there. Shut it down. There will be no more kiddy porn. Ever!” He yelled into the phone, as he disconnected the call.

Still not understanding why I was sent here, I waited for Gavin to regain his control and speak to me again.  Upon turning around Gavin started to speak to me.

“On one’s darkest hour, sometimes there’s no life preserver to pull you back from the dark loneliness of the abyss. I regret that I am unable to have dinner tonight. We have an emergency tonight with the club.” Taking my hand into his he gently kissed it and said his goodbyes.

“I will see you soon Darling.” He said with the sexiest southern drawl I’ve ever heard as he walked out the door with Lucas.

I tool his departure as my opportunity to get my shit together and take a shower. After I stepped out of the steam I realized I’m like a school girl. I had a crush and a mission and no idea how I was going to affectively take down the MC. Or rather take down the vice president of the club shall I say.

After donning my long sleeved Georgia bulldogs 2 sleep shirt I put on my matching maroon panties and stepped out of the bathroom. Lucas was waiting on me in the doorway. Looking down I quickly grabbed my towel from my wet hair and wrapped it around my hips to cover my bare legs.

“Hey Lucas, what’s up?”

I said with a smile. Lucas returned my smile and sat at the end of the bed tapping the bed for me to sit next to him.  I quickly moved the last few feet to the bed and sat a few feet away. I watched to make sure that my towel wasn’t riding up showing too much skin. Apparently so was Lucas as I caught him looking at my thigh as I sat down next to him.

“I just wanted to talk to you about what was going on. Why I would help you, and possibly bring my own brother down.”

I shook my head and realized this was the exact conversation I was wanting to have with him anyways.

“I was thinking the same thing. I was wondering what was going on.”

Lucas cleared his throat and responded.

“As you know there has been a shroud of deceit following the mc lately. We have had a problem with Gavin’s Vice President Hammer, he recently got involved with a sex trafficking black market group, coming straight from Ukraine, and that entire region. We don’t know how or even when he started doing it, all we do know is the MC doesn’t condone child abuse in any form. We are doing our own investigation, but figured if I could get you involved maybe it could go smoother with hopefully little to no bloodshed. I don’t know if your superiors told you but it’s not Gavin you’re after. It’s Hammer. Gavin is sickened by it and has been trying to catch him in the act of the transporting. What’s making it even worse is he is trafficking their drugs along with the women and kids across state lines. This makes it a completely federal case and no matter how much we bitch at the local police to get off their ass and help us, they only say it’s federal, outside of our jurisdiction. Which is utter bullshit. So you’re here, obviously without Gavin realizing who you are. But I do know he likes you so far. He will be back after his meeting tonight. He plans to protect you, so make sure you’re super sweet to him.”

Lucas said with a wink. There was so much information for me to take in that I was literally awe struck by the amount he got out in barely one maybe two breaths.

“I already know why I’m here, it’s not Gavin perse’ we’re after. My mission statement states that Hammer is my main focus. Hopefully Gavin will talk to me about what’s bothering him. I have a year to hang around, let’s cross our fingers that he falls for me.” I said with a smile.

We both turned towards the door when we heard the sound of a loud motorcycle pulling up in front of Lucas’ house. Lucas jumps up and runs for the door closing the double doors behind him. Not knowing who it is I remove my towel and curl up with my book. I made sure my 9mm was placed in plain site on the bedside table on my left side. I won’t be snuck up on. I picked up my book and started to read where I left off. I love reading about unrequited love, especially the ones with vampires and werewolves. If only my life was cool as a romance novel.

I stopped reading to hear what was going on in other parts of the house but only heard someone with a raised voice. I’m pretty sure it was Gavin pissed off about something Hammer had done. I tried to get back to my novel but was interrupted by the sound of boots walking down the hallway towards my door. A loud knock sounded, which for some reason startled me. I placed my book down on the bed and replied to the knock.

“Come in.”

Gavin opened the door. The moment he laid eyes on me he smiled a wicked smile that made my panties wet just thinking about.
Oh my god! I forgot I wasn’t wearing any pants. For some reason I can’t think around him.

“Hey Darling, I was just coming to apologize for having to take off on you like that earlier. I really wanted to get to know you. How about I make it up to you by taking you out?”

I smiled and ignored the fact that I was only wearing a shirt and undies. Remembering what he asked, I quickly shook my head yes and answered.

“Of course, that sounds divine! I would love to go out with you.” Trying to not look so excited because I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin, I made myself busy. Picked up my book and placed it on the night table next to my handgun. I heard a gasp as I realized my shirt was riding up. Just as I started to turn around Gavin stopped me by pulling my shirt up more and ran his hand across the
vines running down the side of my back. I jumped and turned quickly knowing his touch isn’t something I can casually take. It would lead to much more private areas.

“I didn’t know you had tats. But anyways back to our date. How about I take you out in about an hour? How does that sound? I mean if you don’t have anything planned that is.”

I looked at the bedside digital clock and realized it wasn’t as late as it felt. I shook my head yes and smiled before saying.

“Sure, I can be ready in about thirty minutes. I do have to put my face back on.”

I finished saying on my way to the door. I opened it and waited for him to get my hint. I’m not a slut, just because he touched my back doesn’t mean I’m going home with him tonight. He smiled his sexiest smile and got up, walked to the door and took my hand in his own to plant a kiss on it again. The butterflies came this time. I knew I was going to be alone with him soon. We had every opportunity to end up in a precarious situation. The fact that this doesn’t seem the least bit bad to me is just now starting to cross my mind.  He crossed the threshold and kept walking. Shutting the door hastily behind him I leaned against it to catch my breath. I’ve never wanted to sleep with anyone as much as him.

He’s going to be the ruin of me and I just met him. I rushed to the closet only to find a short black cocktail dress, with a lacey sheer back that displayed my curves and my back tattoos in just the right fashion. Looking around the shoes she packed I found the heeled black leather boots I was looking for. Grabbed a black garter and thought about whether to wear underwear with it or not. I decided against going all natural. Rustling through my makeup bag I chose to go dark for a night on the town. A smoky eye, and red glossed lips is the perfect date night look. I pulled my hair up in a tight French twist on the top of my head. My dad always used to compliment the sleek lines my neck made when I had my hair up. Flashbacks took me away
for a few minutes while I stared straight ahead into the mirror. Only being shaken out of my walking memories by the sound of a knock on the bedroom doors.

I completely forgot how much I loathed heels before I almost stumbled to the door. I took a minute to regain my composure before I opened the door. Just then checking for my pistol it wasn’t on my inner thigh holster so I quickly shouted out.

“One sec, just putting on my shoes.”

I rustled through the top drawer of the bed side table and secured the pistol on my holster. I quickened my pace and rushed back to the door, looked down to make sure all was secure and opened it with a smile. My breath caught in my throat as I saw Gavin in his cut for the first time. He stepped back with wide eyes giving me a once over. A whistle sounded from his lips as I was still mesmerized by his sexy lips. The only thing I can think about is wrapping my legs around him and
I’m not talking about on the back of his bike. Even though that sounds like a wonderful place to do it.
