Chapter Two

Heather said her goodbyes to Caleb after they finished
fooling around in the barn. Her father was on the porch when they came out,
making it easy to get away from him without any emotional farewells.

She kissed her dad on the forehead, went into her room,
and said goodnight to the boy band members on her wall one last time. Tomorrow,
she would start her new life as an adult in New York City.

Her mother was already up when her alarm sounded at 4:00
a.m. She had a lunch packed for her, and a road safety kit sitting on the
table. The 16-hour drive was going to be brutal, but Heather was looking
forward to it.

She calculated she would arrive in New York around eight
o’clock without stops, but she knew it was more likely to be 10 o’clock before
she arrived.

Her father was checking her tire pressure, oil levels, and
lord knows what else when she went outside.

It was emotional to say goodbye this time, more so than
when she would leave to go back to college. This felt permanent.

Heather was right about the time. It was a little after 10
o’clock when she pulled up in front of her new apartment building.

The street lights barely offered enough light for the dark
street, and the light inside the building wasn’t working when she entered. She
made it up the stairs with her first bag and knocked opened the door to
apartment K.

Jacob was asleep on the sofa. He was beautiful. His suit
jacket was thrown over the back of the couch, his head underneath a tony red
throw pillow, and his perfectly shined black dress shoes placed carefully
beside him.

His eyes opened, and he quickly jumped up.

“Oh hell, I fell asleep,” he said, still sounding a little
groggy.

“That’s ok, I was late,” Heather said, placing her bag on
the floor.

The apartment was small, but from what Jacob told her, it
was quite large for the city.

“I love it,” Heather said, looking around her new place.

“I had someone come decorate. I wasn’t sure what you liked,”
He said.

“I like this. I like this a lot,” Heather said.

The white sofa was covered in red and yellow throw
pillows, and a bright yellow ottoman sat in the middle of the floor. The large
window offered an amazing view of the city, with the skyline almost visible.

“The kitchen is small,” Jacob said, pointing to the small
room towards the back of the apartment.

“Let me show you the bedroom. Your bedroom,” he said,
correcting himself as he spoke.

A large king-sized bed took up most of the room. A large
armoire stood in the corner, and a wooden chair adorned with the same teal
material as the bedspread.

“This is beyond anything I expected,” Heather said.

“Only the best for you,” he said with a smile.

Heather rushed into his arms, taking him by surprise as
she squeezed him tightly around the waist.

“Don’t get too excited; the neighborhood is pretty shady
at night,” he said.

Heather looked up at him, still in his arms, and letting
the scent of his expensive cologne drift under her nose.

“Let me get the rest of your bags,” Jacob said, pulling
from her and heading towards the door.

“Don’t be that little girl Heather…,” she whispered to
herself once he left the apartment.

Jacob sat the rest of her bags by the front door, and then
shuffled his feet in the doorway. He looked nervous, and Heather felt like an
ass for throwing herself at him like she did.

“Thank you Jacob. It’s been a long drive, and I’m sorry if
I was too clingy. It was just good to see a familiar face after 18 hours on the
road,” she said.

Jacob smiled. He seemed more relaxed. She felt good that
her save actually worked.

“Well, tomorrow is Sunday. So, if you want I can show you
the city before we start work on Monday,” he said.

“That would be great,” Heather said.

Jacob walked into the apartment and towards Heather. Her
heart started to beat faster as he neared her. When he walked past her, she
felt herself begin to blush from embarrassment. He pulled the curtains close on
the large window, and then checked the rest of the windows to ensure they were
locked.

“Here’s your key. Keep everything locked, and
DO NOT
go out tonight…,” he said sternly.

“Is it really that bad around here?” she asked.

“This is the city; it’s bad everywhere,” he said with a
smile.

He handed the key to her, and when she took it from his
hand, they paused as they lingered on the touch between them.

Jacob’s eyes were bright and curious as he stared into
Heather’s bloodshot eyes from the long drive. The electricity that passed
through her, she could only hope was passing through him as well.

He gently pulled his hand back, releasing her from the
electricity of his touch.

“I’ll come by early so we can get breakfast together,” he
said.

“There are delivery menus in the kitchen counter if you
want something tonight,” he said before he closed the door behind him.

Heather went to the kitchen, pulling out the menus from
the drawer when a knock sounded on her door.

She opened it up to find Jacob standing there.

“Never open the door without asking who it is and looking
through the peep hole. And for God’s sake Heather, please lock the door behind
me, and keep it locked,” he said.

Heather promised, and then closed the door, locking it,
and then checking the peep hole to ensure he had walked away. It tickled her
that he was so worried about her safety.

Chapter Three

Heather woke up to someone beating on her door. She
stumbled from her bedroom, opened up the door, and then noticed Jacob standing
in her doorway with a stern face.

“What did I tell you?” he asked.

“I forgot…you woke me up!” she exclaimed.

He handed her one of the coffees he had in his hand, and
then walked inside.

Heather gripped the coffee, sipping on it as Jacob stared
at her.

“Oh God, I must look awful,” she said, realizing she just
opened the door before looking in the mirror, to hell with the peep hole.

“You look quite adorable actually,” he said, smiling at
her.

Heather quickly rushed into the bedroom before he could
see her blushing. When she looked in the mirror, she was mortified. Her hair
was a mess, her nipples were popping through the material of her tank top, and
she had mascara running down her face.

“I’ll only be a minute,” she yelled from her bedroom.

She dug through her suitcases until she found a warm
sweater and a pair of jeans. Her hands smoother out her hair as she placed it
in a ponytail holder and headed back out to the living room.

“Ta da, I’m ready,” she said, throwing her hands in the
air like a magician.

“I wish all women got ready that quickly,” Jacob said.

“I’m starved, otherwise I would need more time,” she
admitted.

Jacob offered her a warm smile as he opened the door for
her.

“There’s a great place right up the street from here,” he
said, leaving their cars on the street.

“We’re walking?” Heather asked.

“In the city, you walk most to everywhere. Parking is a
nightmare,” he said.

He extended his hand, letting Heather place hers in his.
It felt great to walk down the sidewalk in her dream city holding the hand of
her dream man.

The restaurant was only a few blocks up, but Heather
didn’t notice when they stopped since she was so busy taking in the sites of
the city.

People were everywhere, literally everywhere. Some hung
out of their windows, yelling at people on the street, others were seated on
the stoop in front of their apartment buildings, while others were busy heading
in one direction or another.

“We’re here,” Jacob said, snapping Heather out of her
trance.

“It’s a lot to take in at first, I know. But, you’ll get
used to it,” he said, opening the door for her to go inside.

They took a booth in the back, and their conversation
immediately went to work. Jacob asked her about the brands she felt the most
connection with and why, and she told him about her dreams to create the next
big ‘Just Do It’ campaign. He seemed impressed as she talked about the
inspirations she had through her years in school, and what made her interested
in marketing in the first place.

“I was the ugly duckling in school, never able to get
anyone’s attention. But through the newspaper, I learned how to pull people in
with words,” she said.

“The ugly duckling?” Jacob asked.

Heather rolled her eyes at him. She knew he was well aware
of her unattractive school years; she had spent most of them trying to get his
attention.

“I never thought of you as the ugly duckling,” Jacob said.

“Well, even so, the only way I could ever demand attention…and
get it, was through my headlines in the school paper,” she said.

“I don’t think you would have that same problem today,” he
said.

Heather caught him looking at her with that look again. It
was the same look he had at Thanksgiving dinner and then again in her apartment
last night.

She quickly picked up her menu, and when the waitress came
over, ordered the special. Jacob ordered the same, and then he went back to
staring at Heather in that seductive, sexy way. It was driving her crazy, and all
she wanted to do was jump across the table and kiss him.

“I can’t wait until my client, excuse me, our clients, get
a look at you,” he said.

“Do you know how rare it is to find a woman as smart as
you that looks the way you do?” he asked.

Heather felt herself blushing again.

“They are not going to know what hit them,” he added.

After breakfast, Jacob showed heather around the city, and
they ended up in Central Park. They sat on the bench, people watching, when
Heather decided to blurt out the obvious.

“You know I had a huge crush on you?” she asked.

She could tell Jacob was trying not to smile.

“I got that impression,” he said.

“I don’t want to lead you on…,” Jacob said, turning a
little red in the cheeks.

“Oh no, I’m not here for you,” Heather said.

“I want to experience life; something I’ve never done
before,” she said.

“I’m not even ready to settle down…with anyone,” she
continued to rattle.

All of that were only half truths. She wanted to be there
for the job opportunity, but Jacob was a big benefit to that opportunity. Yes,
she wanted to experience life, and settling down wasn’t on her mind…but, if
Jacob were available, that would all change quickly.

“Good, you’re too smart and beautiful to be pulled from
the market just yet,” he teased.

When they got back to Heather’s apartment, she felt Jacob
linger inside. She wasn’t sure if he was worried to leave her alone, or if
there was another reason he wanted to stay.

“I’m going to pick you up tomorrow morning,” he said.

“Are you sure? I’m more than capable of getting there on
my own,” Heather said.

“I know you are. I would just feel better,” he said.

“Be ready this time,” he teased, and then leaned in to
kiss Heather on the forehead.

His lips were soft and warm against her skin. They
lingered there longer than the average kiss, and she felt herself pushing into
them as they pressed against her.

He gripped her hand in his, squeezed tightly, and then
caressed her fingers with his. His touch was more than just friendly; it was
sensual. Heather felt her body start to tingle just as he pulled away. He
smiled, and then disappeared out the door.

She quickly went over, locking the deadbolt. Jacob’s voice
echoed through the door. “Good girl!”

Chapter Four

Heather dressed to impress for her first day at the
office. Her designer red skirt offered a professional length of just above her
knees, and the white blouse she selected offered just a peek at her perfect
cleavage.

When Jacob arrived, he smiled widely at her before
complimenting her on her appearance. She could tell he was impressed by her
sexy, yet professional style. She was all grown up indeed.

At the office, Heather was impressed by Jacob. She
couldn’t believe how successful he had become. His long list of powerful
clients flowed through the office building like a well-oiled machine. And when
he would call her into the meetings, she couldn’t help but feel a tingle in her
breasts when he spoke so confidently to the men in designer suits.

During lunch, a woman entered the office. She was lean,
tall, and had perfectly chiseled features. This must be Jolie, Heather thought
to herself.

She watched as she entered Jacob’s office. Her heart sank
as she imagined them embracing, laughing, and making plans for their future
behind the closed door.

When the woman exited, Jacob was behind her, leading her
towards Heather’s office.

“I wanted you to meet Jolie,” Jacob said, motioning
towards the extremely hot woman with a cold face.

Her smile was forced, as if she was on a photo shoot, her
hand extended, but weak, as if she expected Heather to kiss it instead of shake
it.

“Nice to meet you,” Heather said, swallowing the lump in
her throat.

“I’ve heard so many wonderful things about you,” Jolie
said in her French accent. Heather tried hard not to cringe. Of course she had
a French accent, she thought.

Her long blonde hair was pulled into a tight bun behind
her head, and the designer clothes she wore far exceeded the status of Jacob’s
success. Heather couldn’t help but wonder if the woman came from money, or was
digging for it.

Heather was relieved when the woman left her office, and
eventually the building. Jacob came back into her office; sitting on the edge
of her desk, he wore a large smile.

“What’s gotten into you?” Heather asked.

“I am just extremely pleased with your first day
performance,” Jacob said.

“You saved my ass earlier with Mr. Crane,” he said.

“I did surprise the man, didn’t I?” Heather said with a
chuckle.

“Your pitch was brilliant, and for it to be pulled out of
thin air…just amazing,” Jacob said.

Heather was beaming from Jacob’s approval.

“I’m meeting with him and his son for dinner tomorrow
night; he has suggested I bring you along,” Jacob said.

“I’ll be there,” Heather said with a smile.

She grabbed the file for the large financial company ran
by Mr. Crane and his son, and then let Jacob take her home.

Before she got out of the car, he grabbed her hand,
touching it softly as his eyes lingered on her.

“Thank you,” he said softly.

“Thank you Jacob,” Heather said.

She wasn’t sure why he would thank her. He was the one who
gave her the amazing opportunity. Her skills were still green, so he could have
hired someone with more experience. She was appreciative that he decided to
give her a chance, even though a little unclear as to why.

Heather ordered Chinese food, checked the peep hole, and
even asked who it was like Jacob taught her when it was delivered, and then
fell on to her bed.

She opened the file on Mr. Crane’s company, trying to
gather as much information as possible before their dinner the next night. A
picture of him and his son was printed on the front page of the New York Times.
The young man was handsome. His features were strong and masculine, and his
eyes were so confident.

Heather felt her body start to tingle as she looked at the
photo. The man was no older than her, with the exception of a possible year or
two. His power and success intrigued her, but those eyes; those eyes were
turning her on.

She closed her eyes and let her hands slid down her body.
His eyes lay heavy on her as if he was watching her explore her own body.

Her fingers gripped at her skirt, pulling at the material
until it was well above her hips. She slowly unbuttoned her blouse, revealing
her full, round breasts peeking through the lacey push-up bra.

As her breathing became shallower, and her heartbeat
increased, she let her hands slid between her legs, rubbing her lace panties,
creating friction against her swelling clit.

She imagined his eyes upon her, watching her, and she felt
the intensity of her touch increase with each rub.

Her fingers pulled at her panties until they were pushed
aside and they were tucked inside her warm pink folds. Slowly, she rubbed her
knuckles into her pussy, pushing against her clit, and then let one finger
slide into her warm, moist flesh.

Aggressively, her other hand slid up her body to her
breasts, pulling away the lacey material hiding her breasts. She felt the heat
of his eyes on her as she pulled her nipples between her fingers, rolling them,
tugging them, and pinching them.

She wanted to desperately to experience something new,
and to have an orgasm like the ones the girls at college talked about. This man
looked confident, strong, and experienced. She was sure he could give her what
she craved.

One more finger inserted into her wet pussy, and she began
to thrust her hips towards her hand. Her thumb pushed hard into her clit, and
her fingers pulled at her nipples. Her eyes still closed, she could see this
man over her. His lips tightly pressed, his eyes deep and seductive, and his
breath hot and heavy.

Pushing harder and deeper into her pussy, her fingers
became his cock. She rocked her hips, arched her back, and let out a moan.

Her breasts pushed towards the ceiling as her body began
to tighten. She felt the release, and let go of it early, allowing her orgasm
to flow through her body and onto her hand.

“Why did I do that?” she whispered to herself.

“I can’t look at this poor boy tomorrow,” she said and
then let out a laugh.

She knew it was better with him than Jacob. Her feelings towards
him were growing each day, and with his fiancé’s visit to the office earlier
that day, his engagement wasn’t something she could ignore any longer.

A garbage can fell over in the alley, causing Heather to
jump. Out the window, a shadow of a woman leaned against the brick wall.
Heather watched as a man appeared, moving close to the woman, and then placing
his arms on either side of her as if to pin her against the brick.

The street light was dim, offering only enough light to
make out their silhouettes. The man pushed against the woman and lifted her off
her feet. Her legs wrapped around his body as he shuffled with his hands to
pull his cock from his jeans.

Heather was in shock as she watched the man pushing
himself hard into the woman. The dozens of apartment windows that had a full
view of the event didn’t seem to bother either of them. She let out loud moans
against his groans, and then they eventually both went limp in each other’s
arms.

This was a different world Heather had walked into. She
started to realize that this is why Jacob was so concerned for her safety. She
adjusted her skirt, checked the door locks, the windows, and then closed the
curtains before she changed for bed.

That passion between the man and the woman underneath her
window was something she had never experienced before. She thought to herself,
‘Maybe this is the place to find that kind of passion.’

Her thoughts drifted to Jacob, and how intense it felt
when he touched her hand, or looked into her eyes. She couldn’t help but wonder
if that same feeling was experienced between him and the hot blonde woman with
the cold face and French accent.

That’s what Heather wanted…that kind of passion. But, if
she couldn’t have it with Jacob, where would she find it?

This young boy in the photo with his powerful father?
Would a man like that even notice a woman like Heather? She was just a country
girl with little to no life experience…
