This book is a work
of fiction. Similarities to real people, places, or events are entirely
coincidental.
This story has erotic themes and is suitable for adults, 18+ only.
Leah traced the lines of Darren’s hand as they lay
together in his bed. It was Monday morning and they would be back in the office
in just a couple hours. They had woken up early. At least, Leah had woken up
early and gave Darren a pleasant surprise.
He opened his eyes to an incredible sensation with Leah beneath
the sheets. He closed his eyes again, letting her stay below his waist for a
few more minutes. When he opened them again, he pulled her up and flipped her
over.
Afterwards, she cuddled into his warm chest and lay her
head on top of him. She wouldn’t see him until the end of the day and wanted to
savor the time that she had with him. She knew it was a little silly, they had
spent every night together, but it was strange not seeing him all day.
She knew it was hard for him too, but he tried his best not
to complain. He saw how much happier she was with her new responsibilities. She
liked keeping busy and the job certainly required that of her. He tried not to
think about how much time she was spending with Peter.
He had never had much of a problem with Peter until he
knew that Leah had dated him. He never appreciated how he looked at her and
made her uncomfortable on purpose, but he always thought he was just teasing
her. He didn’t see a lot of harm in it.
And Leah never seemed to mention that it bothered her. She
gave him cold looks but Darren had just assumed that was their relationship.
But now he knew the history behind it and it started to bother him.
Peter had been reminding Leah of their past relationship
and how he had dominated her. Or worse, how she had let him dominate her. Leah
tried to keep her cool and had done pretty good at it. Working so closely with
him now couldn’t be easy.
It bothered Darren that she enjoyed her job so much, since
he now knew more about Peter. He hoped that she wasn’t getting back into old
habits with him.
But he had no reason not to trust her. He knew her and
knew her well. It was Peter that he couldn’t trust and didn’t want Leah to think
she could start to trust him again too.
He knew he couldn’t say anything. It really wasn’t his
place. He might have asked her what she was thinking if they hadn’t been
dating. But he didn’t want to fight with her. Things had been going too well.
They had only had one serious argument in their
friendship. Leah was surprisingly upset with him when he suggested she was
jealous of one of his girlfriends. Leah’s distaste for her led Darren to the
conclusion and she couldn’t prove him wrong. That had made her angry and they
spent only a few hours not speaking to each other. But following an afternoon
of ignoring him, Leah came and they made up.
He chuckled thinking about it and Leah looked up at him.
Her head was still resting on his chest. She was listening to his heartbeat.
“What’s so funny?” She asked him but he just shook his
head with a smile.
“Want some coffee?” Was his reply and she nodded
emphatically.
They got up slowly. Leah took a few moments before she
peeled her face off his chest. She kissed him before sitting up.
“I love waking up with you,” he whispered to her before
she pulled away.
Her face flushed and she kissed him again. She headed out
of his bedroom and went across the hall to the bathroom.
Darren stretched a bit and lay back, putting his arms
behind his head. He watched her as she walked out and sighed heavily. He was so
in love with her.
He got up himself and went to the kitchen to make coffee.
He stretched again after the coffee maker was started, the muscles of his back
contracting. He felt the soft skin of Leah’s hands move around to his stomach.
He smiled and glanced behind him. Bringing his hands down
to meet hers on his waist, he wrapped his fingers around them. Her face pressed
into his back as she held him close.
Suddenly, he turned around and embraced her, wrapping his
arms around her back. He held her like he wasn’t sure he would see her again.
She was about to ask him what was wrong when he broke
away, giving her a contented smile. She returned it and sat at the small, round
table, watching him grab mugs and cream.
Resting her face in her hand and her elbow on the table,
she thought about the day ahead. She was actually looking forward to spending
more time with Peter. She also enjoyed the time that she got alone.
While she loved working with Darren, sometimes he was a
distraction. It was always her own fault, of course, because it was more often
her in his office than vice versa. Not having the option, she got much more
work done. And the work was more interesting as well.
Darren brought coffee for her to the table and she thanked
him, looking at him lovingly. She would never do anything to jeopardize what
she had with him. There was no doubt in her mind that Peter wasn’t worth it.
But there wasn’t any harm in becoming friends with him.
Leah’s lunch hour was spent with Peter. Once again, she
had told Darren she would try to meet him but she couldn’t. Her hour had been
reduced to forty minutes and twenty of them were spent eating at her computer.
She and Peter were spending more of their time at the
corporate office rather than his office in their department. He told her it
made more sense that way and she didn’t bother to ask why. She didn’t really
care as long as her career was progressing. She finally felt like she was
accomplishing some of her goals.
Peter’s hand brushed over top of hers as he reached for a
napkin. She smiled and pulled away from him, out of his reach.
“Wow,” he said, raising his eyebrows at her.
She laughed a little nervously, “I just want to make sure
things are professional between us. Right?”
He cleared his throat and nodded. When he smiled at her,
it made her more apprehensive.
“You’re right,” he said, with that smile on his face. She
knew he was up to something.
It’s worth it,
she told herself, taking a breath.
There’s
nothing he can do to you. Just ignore him.
She sighed and shook her head a little, returning her
focus to the papers.
“You know,” he said in a low voice. “A couple years ago,
when I saw you trembling like you are now, it was because I had just slid these
two fingers…”
She shot him a look and he shut up but the smile stayed on
his face.
“Can we focus please? You’re my superior, why don’t you
act like it?” She said with a biting tone.
He was surprised at how she spoke to him but the smile
didn’t fade. She narrowed her eyes at him and he finally returned to the screen
to his right. She rolled her eyes, hoping that she had made her point clear.
Everything went smoothly for the next couple hours. She
started to let her mind drift a bit and wondered about Darren. She smiled at
the thought of him and hoped that he wasn’t bored out of his mind.
Peter got up from his chair and pulled his arms above his
head. He sighed as he dropped them and walked over to his filing cabinet. Leah
saw that his tie was loose around his neck and the top button of his shirt was
undone. She could see his chest hair peeking out of the top.
He brought a hand up to his head and rubbed it through his
short hair, grazing his scalp. She remembered when his hair was a little longer
and how she would run her fingers through it after he apologized for being
insufferable. It had happened far too often.
He glanced back at her from the cabinet and saw that she
was watching him. She turned away and he smiled, feeling triumphant. She hid
her face, not wanting him to see her blush.
She couldn’t stop herself from remembering their sex.
Sleeping with Darren was unbelievable and exciting, especially when they snuck
around the office. But sex with Peter had been good, too. He was rough but he
knew her body. He liked to push her to her limits.
He had helped her discover who she really was. Even if it
was by showing her who she didn’t want to be, he was still an integral part of
her love history. She was no longer in love with him, but the feelings hadn’t
vanished completely.
Peter knew it, and he would use it against her.
Leah and Darren spent the night at his place again. She
had to admit it was much nicer and the water pressure never cut out like hers
did.
While they ate dinner, Darren was a little tense. She knew
that meant he was very tense underneath the surface. He only ever let her see
so much of his stress. He liked to try and protect her from it.
When she asked, he kept it to himself. She had a feeling
it was about Peter, but didn’t want to bring it up. She hoped that he would get
used to the new working situation.
The next day, Peter called Leah early in the morning and
asked her to meet him at the corporate office. She got dressed and kissed
Darren goodbye as he was sipping coffee at the table. They would see each other
that evening.
When Leah got to the office, she found the conference room
that Peter was set up in and walked in. He had papers laid out all over the
table and looked a bit distressed. He gave her a desperate look when she walked
in.
“I need your help,” he said the second he saw her.
She had never heard him say that before. It sounded
strange in her ears and she raised an eyebrow incredulously.
“Is it a dispute or an outsourcing problem?” She asked,
setting her jacket and bag down in a chair.
They got to work immediately and Leah was able to create a
solution within an hour. Peter was professional and accepted her suggestions,
allowing them to solve the problem effectively. She was surprised at how well
it went.
“Great work,” he said to her as he scanned some documents
in front of him.
She was taken back but thanked him before settling into a
chair. He asked her if she wanted a coffee and she said yes. She watched him
walk out of the room towards the lounge where there was a coffee maker.
She shook her head, trying to clear the tempting thoughts
that were in her mind. She would never act on them, but she was allowed to
fantasize. She told herself that anyways.
When Peter returned to the office he had two large
Styrofoam coffee cups balanced on a drink tray in his hand. He opened the door
with the other and she got up to grab the coffee from him.
He brought his other hand up to the tray to hold it steady
but she knocked it over before he could. Hot coffee poured down his chest and
he cursed, putting the tray on the table. Almost half of one of the cups had
spilled on him and ruined his white shirt.
“Shit,” he said as he started to unbutton it.
Leah apologized profusely, running to grab a towel from
the break room. When she returned, Peter had his shirt off. She dropped the
towel as she walked back into the room.
He turned to her and she bit her lip, staring at his
gorgeous muscles.
Unbelievable,
she thought to herself, thinking of
both his abs and the situation she was now in.
He was strong and muscular when they dated, but he had
obviously increased his workout regimen. She tried to speak and only stuttered,
leaning down to pick up the towel.
She could see that his chest was red as he moved closer to
her and she winced at the visible burns.
“I’m so sorry,” she said, reaching out to touch his skin.
It wasn’t as bad as it looked but she felt terrible.
He looked down into her eyes and her heart leapt into her
throat. She felt instantly guilty, knowing that Darren was sitting back in his office,
thinking about her. She turned her face from his and backed away.
He cleared his throat and looked down at himself.
“It’s been a while since we’ve been together like this,”
he joked, moving towards her again.
She smiled and nodded.
“I should go get a cold cloth for your chest,” she said
moving away from him and towards the door.
She slipped out before he could say anything else and went
directly to the break room. She opened up the fridge to cool off her face. It
was red from embarrassment.
She was embarrassed that she had spilled coffee all over
his chest. She was more embarrassed that she was thinking about bending over
and letting him fuck her on the conference room table.
Closing the fridge door, she wondered if there was some
way he could have spilled the coffee on purpose. She was pretty certain she had
done it but he was carrying the tray precariously. She sighed.
It didn’t matter because it didn’t make a difference to
her. Just because he had his shirt off didn’t mean that she was going to sleep
with him. It simply meant that she was reminded that she wanted to and that she
had, many times before.
She ran a clean cloth under cool water and wrung it out.
As she turned to head back to the conference room, she tried to find her
resolve. She didn’t want Peter to think he was winning her over.
She took another deep breath on her way back to the
office. He was still shirtless but had laid his button-down on the table to
dry. She was happy he at least intended to put it back on.
She put her hand on his bare arm to guide him to a chair
and felt electrified. He smiled softly and looked into her eyes. Looking away,
she brought him to the closest chair and he sat down.
She laid the cloth over his chest gently and told him to
lay back. He listened to her.
“So, we’re back to you taking care of me,” he said with a
laugh and she smiled at him kindly.
“Well, you kind of scream ‘I need help’,” she replied and
he laughed again.
She moved the cloth slowly and gently to the other side of
his broad chest, trying not to touch it. She didn’t want to hurt him.
She sat down in a chair close to his and sighed, resting
her chin in her hand. After another minute, Peter grabbed the cloth and took it
off of his chest.
“Do you want me to moisten it again?” She said getting up
to take it from him.
But he put it on the table and shook his head. He grabbed
his shirt and held it up to see if it was dry enough. He slid his arms in and
pulled it over his shoulder.
Leah sat back down, watching him dress. There was
something sexy about him putting his shirt back on. He left the buttons undone,
looking down at his chest to see how red it still was.
She crossed her legs and moved in her chair a little. He
glanced at her and turned so that she could see his torso.
“Does it look better?” He asked her, taking a few steps
closer to her.
She ran her eyes over him, taking it in before remembering
to look at the burns. It was much better and his color was nearly back to
normal. She had the urge to run her hand over his stomach but sat down in her
chair instead.
“Much better,” she said, returning her focus to the work
at hand.
He started to do up his buttons slowly, waiting for her to
glance back over at him. But she didn’t.
She swallowed hard and asked him if he was ready to get
back to work. He nodded and sat down, wondering why she was resisting him so
incessantly.
He knew that she was attracted to him and that she still
had feelings for him. He wouldn’t believe that she was worried about random
workplace policies about dating co-workers. They had ignored them the first time
they dated, he knew it couldn’t have become a problem.
As far as he knew, Leah was still single and had been
since they broke up. He wanted to be with her again, but even more, he wanted
to fuck her again. He was pretty sure that she wanted it too.
