HERBS AND SUPPLEMENTS

Vitamin B
6
seems to be sorely deficient in those with autism, as does magnesium. They should be supplemented but taken with an additional B complex for best results.

Take digestive enzymes with meals—these aid digestion and absorption of nutrients and reduce the likelihood of food intolerances. Better breakdown of food is very important to avoid the buildup of the behavior-altering opioids in the urine and spinal fluid.

Take probiotics—these aid digestion and gut immunity. Problems with digestion and immunity are both implicated in autism.

EXTRA TIPS

Have Epsom salts baths twice a week—some autistics have difficulty metabolizing sulphur, and this can contribute to symptoms. Epsom salts contain magnesium sulphate, so bathing in the salts can increase levels of sulphur as well as magnesium in the tissues. Both of these are beneficial. Use two cups of salts in a warm bath and soak for 20 minutes. Do not rinse off; pat dry and go to bed. Sulphur tissue salts can also be taken to improve sulphur levels.
