Fruits and vegetables. These foods are alkalizing. Other alkalizing foods include almonds, millet, Brazil nuts, quinoa, chestnuts, and buckwheat.
AVOID
Meat and eggs, as they are particularly acid-forming.
Margarine, heated fats, fried foods, chips, pastries, and processed meats, as these contain fats that interfere with the function of the essential fats.
Wheat and other gluten grains (rye, oats, kamut, spelt, and barley), dairy
products, yeast, eggs, soy, chocolate, tomatoes, potatoes, and citrus fruits, to which you may be intolerant.
Sugar, refined carbohydrates, alcohol, caffeine, additives, salt, and processed foods. All of these put a strain on the body, can deplete nutrients, create toxins, and prevent healing.
HERBS AND SUPPLEMENTS
Add a superfood powder to your fresh juices. These include barley grass, wheat grass, spirulina, or my own living food energy powder.,
Take probiotics twice a day. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that can improve gut function, reduce yeast, and improve nutrient absorption. They also manufacture some B vitamins that are needed by the nervous system and for energy.
Take vitamin B complex. The B vitamins are needed by the nervous system and for energy. Look for one containing choline and inositol, as these can aid fat digestion and liver function. Folic acid and vitamin B
12
are particularly important for the nervous system, so make sure your supplement contains folic acid. Vitamin B
12
is difficult to absorb, so consider getting monthly B
12
injections.
The coenzyme Q10 helps to improve circulation and oxygenation in the cells.
Take an antioxidant supplement. The antioxidants include vitamins A, C, E, zinc, selenium, and n-acetyl cysteine. Look for one containing a combination of these, as they all work synergistically (i.e., they all increase each other’s effectiveness).
EXTRA TIPS
Avoid pesticides, chemicals, and pollution. These can all create a further burden on the immune system and some are toxic to the nervous system.
