Eat organic foods and use only natural beauty and household products.

Swimming is a good exercise for those with MS. Exercise that creates a lot of heat can aggravate the symptoms. Find a pool that uses nonchlorine methods of keeping the water clean, such as ozone. Yoga and walking may also be beneficial.

Get outside every day. Vitamin D is needed for calcium utilization and calcium is needed for proper nerve function. Vitamin D is made by the action of sunlight on the skin. Make sure you have some skin exposed to daylight for at least 30 minutes a day.

Massage sesame oil into your skin daily before you shower. This soothes the nervous system and helps to stimulate circulation and oxygenation to the tissues. The increased blood flow encourages cleansing and healing.

Look into intravenous vitamin therapy.

NAUSEA AND TRAVEL SICKNESS

Nausea is a feeling of sickness that can debilitate, leaving you feeling drained of energy and wanting to vomit. The feeling can be mild to severe.

Symptoms of travel sickness may include headaches, dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, and sleeplessness. This type of nausea is obviously caused by traveling, e.g., by ship. Other possible causes are lack of air, anxiety, and restricted vision or conflicting information going to the brain during motion, which can upset the balance in the inner ear.

CAUSES OF NAUSEA MAY INCLUDE

B vitamin deficiency.

Lack of food.

Malnutrition.

Food poisoning.

Infection.

Stress.

Digestive disturbances.

Migraines.

Anorexia.

Action plan

The following plan will help ease your nausea.

EAT/DRINK

Plain whole-wheat toast or dry crackers to help settle the stomach.

Miso soup. It helps to neutralize stomach acid.

Pumpkin seeds, which can help to reduce nausea.

Ginger tea or a cup of hot water and a slice of ginger. Ginger should not be boiled, as this will destroy its volatile oil. Gallstone sufferers should not use ginger. Those suffering from travel sickness should drink ginger tea before and during the journey. Children can be given crystalized ginger at regular intervals on the journey to stave off sickness.
