Jonas walked back to the table first.  He sat down smiling then looked over to River to ask if she wanted something from his plate.  His smile faded when he looked at River’s pale ash face.  “Baby, are you alright?”  Trying not to spoil the evening, River smiled at Jonas.

Jonas stared at River worried that tonight was just too much with how she was being treated by the Wheatons. 

“I was wondering if you wanted something off my plate or I could get you something else to eat or drink.”

Shaking off the thought of carrying his mate back to his house and having his way with her made Reece groan out loud.  River and Jonas looked over at Reece who had to turn around for fear of them seeing his hard-on he was already sporting.

Jonas nodded then laid down beside her.  Reece pulled a blanket down over them as he laid awake thinking about what Jonas said.  She was going to have protection no matter if she wanted it or not.  Snuggling closer to her, Reece picked up her hand, placing it in his hands and inhaling her scent as he drifted off to sleep.
