“Will we have clients? I mean you won’t be in New York,” Davey said, still worrying about work.

“Gary Sayer is a client and he doesn’t live in New York. I do all the legal business for most of the members of the club. I, along with Sam Stein, represent many musicians and athletes who again, live in New Jersey. After my parents died two years ago, I never had to work again. I have enough to support a life in grand style with four homes and a jet plane. I’m not as loaded as Cisco or Johnny but I have more than I’ll ever have time to spend. However, I like to work.” Davey looked a bit puzzled.

“I’m going to take the local clients from the firm. I’ve been arguing with Gilcrest and Sampson about some of the institutions that they wanted to take on, financial institutions with dubious practices, brokers who are being indicted for fraud, and people like Hobby Lobby and other companies whose practices deeply disgust me. They couldn’t buy me out, but I could afford to buy them out. They wanted some of our clients, the dissolution was a compromise. Even though I’m the managing partner, I was outvoted when Gilcrest and Sampson went balls to the wall.” The driver dropped them off in front of their building. “Mike,” Jake spoke to the valet, “take him to the garage where he should wait until he’s called.”

Davey had been quiet during most of Jake’s explanation spoke up. “You don’t want to work for people who aren’t ethical. I remember you calling Mr. Danvers’ partners ethically challenged. You didn’t want clients like that.” Davey thought about it some more as they rode up the elevator to Jake’s condo.

“I don’t think you’d like to work for those types of clients either. By the way, this doesn’t mean the work won’t be challenging. Spinelli is coming with us. You did so well for him that he’s sending me a crate of forty year old scotch in addition to a bonus for you and Edith.”

Davey was shocked. “But I already got a bonus from the firm.”

“This is from Spinelli, personally, as a thank you for finding that old precedent. That caused the other side to fold. They settled. Spinelli saved billions of his own money and his company’s. Their liability here was enormous.” Jake chuckled.

“Mr. Spinelli didn’t do anything bad, did he?” Davey was getting worried. He didn’t want to help someone who was screwing somebody over.

“On the contrary, he exposed something publicly that another company was hiding that could have been deadly to consumers. The other company sued, you quashed their motions to the court. You showed that we had precedents that could nail them. You made their case disappear. They even have to pay Spinelli’s legal fees and they were huge until you looked into that old law book. Then like a bad fairy, they flew away. By the way, Spinelli is one of us, gay, but not kinky. I didn’t do this at the old firm but here I’m going to actively recruit gay clients who won’t have to be afraid their legal representation consists of a bunch of fundies or plain fucking bigots.”

“How many lawyers will we have?”

“About ten, maybe twelve including those from this office, Del Monte and me plus we’ll have the new recruits—I’ve been planning this for a long time. I finally decided the moment had arrived. We have the best legal recruiters in the country looking for twenty paralegals, eight additional lawyers and twenty admins. As I told you, Edith will be promoted to office manager. Valerie is staying on in Human Resources as is Denise, both of them live in Jersey. You’ll be in charge of the paralegals in addition to my personal work. Giancarlo will be an equal partner. He was saving to buy a partnership at our old firm. I let him buy in with us for less money. So our new name is Cohen and Del Monte. He’ll be bringing over clients of his own that, of course, meet our ethical standards. He’s gay too. That’s why I was so angry at him the first day when he asked if I would share. I found out later that he meant your legal expertise.”

“Oh no! I was supposed to bake for Saturday, the madeleines.”

“No worries, baby. I remembered. I made sure our suite has a full kitchen this time. You bring whatever supplies you need from the house. I believe Marla went shopping with your list. If you need bowls, pots or pans, we’ll bring them tonight or buy them tomorrow. You might as well get what you like to cook with. You’ll be doing the cooking. Don’t worry. I’m renting a car for myself.”

“Won’t that cost a lot of money?”

“Don’t worry about it. Remember who makes the decisions,” Jake said in a mild tone of voice.

“What kind of house am I looking for, Sir?” Davey asked, ill at ease with the idea of picking out a house for Jake. He shook a little bit while he was packing the mixer. He took out the madeleines pans and stuffed them in a box. Marla had left some boxes from Costco. He also carefully packed the ingredients.

“We’re not eating out every night, are we?” Davey wanted to pack more cooking utensils. He knew the Marriott had dishes, silverware, glassware, and pots but he needed his own kitchen things.

“God forbid I cut myself off from your cooking. Pack whatever you need. You have plenty of time, it’s only four-thirty. We’re going to treat Bull and Jamie to dinner after class. I’ll take Bandit with me tonight and bring him to the Marriott.”

“You’ll set up his box, feed him and make sure he has his toys?”

“Yes, I know how to take care of our cat. I’ve watched you a dozen times. As far as the house is concerned, I want a modern house, yet I want it to blend in with the area. I’ve told Gerry what to look for, a modern kitchen with all the bells and whistles, and big enough to hold a table for eight, with five or more bedrooms. I want space for a workout room. I don’t want to have to leave the house to workout. The master suite must have a sitting area and I’d like a formal dining room that seats twenty so we can entertain clients at home if we must.”

Davey went wide eyed. “I’ve never cooked for that many people.”

“You don’t have to cook for those types of parties, we’ll have them catered.”

Regis came in and they loaded the boxes onto his cart. “Come on, baby, let’s go to Jersey.” Jake grabbed Bandit’s carrier and Regis took the service elevator with them and all the boxes down to the garage where the limousine driver loaded them into the trunk with their luggage. Davey only had the one suitcase, so Jake gave him two more so he could pack all of his new clothing.

Davey just made it to class and was in place before Bull came in the room. He breathed a sigh of relief. He didn’t want to eat supper with a grumpy Bull. While he was at class, Jake was going to go to the Marriott and unpack the cartons and take care of Bandit. Davey was a little nervous about that. Jake knew nothing about a kitchen other than how to have one built and he wasn’t sure about Jake handling Bandit either. Bandit sometimes nipped Davey’s heels when he was preparing his dinner and Davey wanted to break that bad habit.

Bull put them through their paces. They went through every submissive posture at least ten times and had to name each of the implements and tell Bull what they did to the body. By the time they were finished, Davey was exhausted.

Jake picked them up for dinner in the limousine.

They rode to Trenton and Jake took them to a little Spanish restaurant that he said was the first place Bear took Brian. It was located on a side street and from the outside it looked like a hole in the wall, but when you walked inside, it appeared as if you were in Spain.

They ordered their meals and settled in to talk. Both of the boys needed to use the restroom. They left the table.

“Your boy is doing well, he’s a natural,” Bull said as he scarfed down his Caesar salad. Jake knew that Caesar salad was a favorite of Davey’s and ordered it for him every time they ate out and it was on the menu.

“I thought he was the first time we met.” Jake preened.

“But is he your boy yet?” Bull took a sip of red wine.

“No, but I’m working on it. We’ve had sex, but not penetration,” Jake said with perfect calm.

“What are you waiting for? Godot?”

“A literary reference, you might make me think you’re civilized, Bull.”

“I graduated from the Naval Academy, joined the Marines and worked in MARSOC. I’m civilized, just pissed off.”

“Still about the way you were treated in the service?”

“Yeah. I would have had security for Jamie if I had my pension and medical benefits.”

“But you never would have met Jamie, if it wasn’t for Indiscreet, and no Indiscreet without being discharged from the Marines,” Jake pointed out.

“That’s true. I never thought of it that way.” A bemused expression appeared on Bull’s face.

“I know you paid thirty k for Jamie and that put you in a hole. I have an investment guy who can help. Do you still have ten grand besides emergency savings?”

“Yeah, what of it?” Bull got belligerent.

“This guy gets a return rate of fourteen percent plus points. It’s called hard money lending and the person who takes out the loan is building or renovating a house and uses the house or houses for collateral. If he defaults, you and the other lenders have the first lien. You can fix the house up yourself or sell it as it is and get your money back, but there has never been a default. I invest with him myself. Fourteen percent plus points is damn good in this market.” Jake reached for his wallet. “Here’s a card.”

Bull looked it over. “Maybe I’ll give them a call. I want Jamie to be taken care of should anything happen to me.”

“You must know that none of us would let Jamie down.” Jake took another sip of his wine.

“I know, but I have to be sure.” Bull took out his wallet and stuck the card inside.

The rest of the evening passed comfortably and Davey was surprised he actually liked Bull by the end of it. Jamie was unpredictable and up for whatever mischief the sub club was planning no matter what they had in mind. He was lots of fun, and Bull smiled at him indulgently, but was quick to tell him he was getting strokes whenever he went over the top.

Jake and Davey got back to the suite at ten. Davey made Jake a scotch and changed Bandit’s water. The little cat lapped it up along with a few kitty treats.

“They have an exercise room here. We’ll go work out tomorrow morning at eight then we’ll eat breakfast in the dining room. After that I’ll go with Bear and you’ll go with Brian and Greg. Randy will be driving.”

“Randy is the man who brought us to New Jersey last night. I didn’t think he was staying.”

“Randy is also a bodyguard. I’m thinking of taking him on full time.” Jake sipped his scotch while Davey made himself a Coke Zero.

“Eh, Jake, about the house, I looked online. There aren’t very many modern houses in this area. If I find one, it may need extensive renovation or be located in a place where we wouldn’t want to live.”

“If you like the bones of the structure, the inside can be gutted and redone. Anything older than a year or two is going to need a new kitchen and bathrooms. We’ll need to paint, naturally, and I want all hardwood flooring. I have Greg going with you because Cisco converted an old fifties ranch into a modern home. Brian and Jim helped Greg decorate and Jim decorated his own home.”

“Is Jim coming too?” Davey went over to sit across from Jake on the couch. Jake motioned for him to come closer and positioned Davey so that his head lay on Jake’s lap. Jake undid his rubber band and began to play with his hair.

“Jim can’t come tomorrow, the club will be too busy with the new subs being introduced tomorrow night along with any new members but he can help once we buy. We may need a professional.” Davey moved closer to Jake. He liked it when Jake messed with his hair.

“No…a professional decorator will leave the home looking cold. If we have to redo it, let an architectural design firm tell us if walls can be moved, but we can do it all with the help of a designer, the decorator doesn’t do the whole thing.” Davey said after some consideration.

Davey was thinking very hard. Jake kept referring to us but had not as of yet made any commitment to him. He wondered if Jake was waiting until after the spanking on Saturday night. At eleven they watched the news and then Jake said it was time for bed. Davey watched Jake grab his scotch glass and take it into the kitchen. He came back with a carafe of water from the fridge and took it into the bedroom He must have put it on the nightstand.

He came out of the bedroom and pulled Davey up from the couch .Jake stripped him naked, kissing each part he bared. “Tonight, I’m going to suck your cock and show you how it should be done.” The very phrase “suck your cock” made Davey so hot all he could do was nod his head.

Jake led him into the bedroom and drew back the covers and said, “Lie down.”

Obediently, Davey lay down on his back. Jake began to run his hands up and down Davey’s skin, creating a delicious friction. His body was on fire.

“I’m going to kiss you all over.” Davey had to draw a deep breath into his lungs to remain still on the bed.

§ § §

“Can I touch you?” Davey raised his hand to Jake’s arm.

Jake shivered. “Not tonight, there will be plenty of time for that in the months to come.”

Jake kissed Davey’s mouth, entering it by running his tongue over the seam of his lips. Davey opened to him like a flower. He explored Davey’s palate, moving his tongue over Davey’s teeth, and the soft inside, memorizing the feel of Davey with his tongue.

From there Jake kissed his way to the corner of Davey’s lips and launched a full scale attack on Davey’s senses. He licked his eyebrows and kissed the tops of Davey’s eyelids and all over his face. His tongue traveled over to the outer shell of Davey’s ear and Davey gasped as Jake bit the lobe.

He swept on to Davey’s neck where he sucked up marks ringing it like a necklace. “I’m marking you as mine—don’t get any ideas when the new Doms show up tomorrow night.”

§ § §

“I won’t, Sir. The man I want is right here with me.” There it was, he said it, let Jake peek into his heart. He hadn’t done this since he was eleven years old. He hoped it didn’t turn out as badly. Ten days, ten days and he had fallen for Jake. He was in love and he knew it, it didn’t matter how long it took— whether it was one day or five years he was a goner.
