Sera just shrugged as she rested against me.
“What would have been the point? If you’d cheated, there was no going back. What was done was done. So I left, I just had to get away,” she sighed.
“Seraphina, you have to stop running away instead of facing up to things. It never solves anything. You have to promise me that in future, whatever happens, however it looks, you will always talk to me about what’s going on, and not run out on me again. Because I'm worried that Scott’s not done yet. He might try again to split us up, so I want you to promise that you’ll always come and talk to me first, that you won’t keep jumping to the wrong conclusion. Please don't run out on me ever again.”
Sera pulled away from me so that she could look me in the face.
“What else could Scott do? What might he try?”
I took a deep breath and then blew it out again. How to explain?
“I’ve known Scott for several years, and at first he seemed a decent enough bloke. We were both into the ‘no strings’ sex scene, and we both enjoyed trying out new experiences. So he knows things about me, and he’s seen me doing things that you might find pretty shocking. ”
“Go on. What are you worried about?”
“I can't really say specifically - but my gut instinct tells me he won’t give up easily, that he’ll try his hardest to dig up some kind of dirt to discredit me with you. I’m telling you this because forewarned is forearmed.”
It all sounded so sordid and seedy, but I knew it had to be better to warn Seraphina of what shit could potentially be about to hit the fan.
“Oh. I see.” She leaned back against my chest. “So you think he might try and blackmail you in some way?”
“Possibly. But you have to understand that anything he may come up with will be from my past, which I can’t change or do anything about. So please, Sera, don't let it spoil what we have now, here in the present, because although I certainly can't claim to be any expert on love, I do know that what we have between us is very special and unique. The kind of thing that only happens once in a lif
etime. We belong together, Seraphina. Always and forever.”
“I like the sound of that, Liam. Always and forever,” she murmured as she snuggled back against me.
“I told Kimberley about us, how I was trying to persuade you that I was serious about you,” I added. “I didn’t want her to be left under any illusions that I’d want to hook up with her again.”
“Really? What did she say?” Sera looked up at me in surprise.
“She didn't believe me at first, she thought it was all part of the scene that we were supposed to be acting out. And then I think in the end, although she was irritated at being made to look stupid, her sense of humour kicked in, and she managed to find it quite amusing. She was running after me, while I was running after you, and Scott had made fools out of both of us.”
“I just hated seeing her even touching you. The thought of her trying to get into your pants…” I felt Sera tense up again. She definitely had as jealous a nature as I did, but I didn't mind. Having never been in this type of relationship before, these were all very new feelings that I needed to get used to, but I liked the idea of Sera being possessive of me. It showed that she cared
. That she loved me?
“Well, she didn't succeed. She just took me by surprise at first, otherwise she wouldn’t have got anywhere near me.”
We were interrupted by my mobile ringing. I reached over to my suit jacket to retrieve it, and then switched it off without even looking at who was calling, before tossing it to one side. I was fed up with my life being ruled by work and a stupid fucking phone. Right now, I couldn’t have cared less about any of that.
“Shouldn’t you have taken that call? In fact, shouldn’t you be getting back to the office? I know you were really busy with meetings this afternoon.” Sera tried to move away from me, but I wouldn’t let her go, as I stroked the skin of her long legs that were stretched out over my lap.
“The outside world can go to hell. You are all that matters right now. I just want to stay here with you,” I murmured in her ear. “Just talking and making sure you understand how much you mean to me.”
“Just talking? Really?” Sera smiled wickedly as she ran her hand over my cock, which thanks to her body on my lap, was now rock hard.
“I thought you had a headache,” I tried to argue, but Sera was already re-positioning herself to straddle my lap, as she rested her hands on my shoulders, her face level with mine.
“I took some tablets, remember? And right now, I want you to prove that you are really mine. I want to be the one getting your cock out, no-one else.”
She reached down to undo my trousers, then slipped her hand inside my boxers to stroke my length.
“I want you. Inside me. Now.” She leaned in to bite and then suck my neck, sending shivers down my spine.
“My pleasure, Angel.” I pushed her short black dress up over her hips, and pulled her lacy thong to one side. She eagerly positioned herself over me, and then slowly lowered herself down onto me, as she braced herself against my shoulders.
“Sweet Jesus, you feel fantastic,” I groaned, as I felt her wet tightness engulfing my cock, taking all of me, up to the hilt. I grabbed hold of her hips to grind in even deeper.
“Yes, that’s what I want. Every last bit of your cock, all for me, and only me,” she whispered, as she started riding me, sliding her silky heat up and down my length. I kept hold of her hips, and thrust in rhythm to match her movements on top of me. This was going to be quick, because no question, it was exactly what we both needed right now.
“Harder, deeper. Give me all of you, give me everything,” she demanded, and I knew she wasn’t just talking about our lovemaking.
“You have it all, Angel. Everything about me is yours. I love you, Seraphina,” I cried out, as we both climbed towards our peak. “God, I love you so much.”
A few minutes later, as we both lay collapsed on the sofa recovering, I gently stroked the silky skin of her neck.
“You belong to me, Seraphina. And I belong to you. Always and forever.”
Everything changed
when Liam told me that he loved me.
I could see, I could feel, I could
sense
that he meant every word he was saying, as he poured out his feelings and declared his love, his deep blue eyes gazing intently at me.
And in those eyes, I could see that Liam did truly love me.
Liam loved me.
It hardly seemed possible, but as I let this revelation sink in, it was the most wonderful feeling in the world. Like some scene out of a Disney movie, I felt this glow, this warm fuzzy feeling literally spreading through my veins and unlocking my heart, which up to then had been gripped by icy cold fingers, ever since I’d seen him with Kimberley.
I'd been so convinced that he’d been cheating on me.
But he hadn't.
Because he loved me.
Up to that moment, I'd refused to even let myself contemplate the possibility of anything like love between us. But I could no longer deny the truth, which was that I'd fallen head over heels in love with Liam. He’d broken through all the walls I'd built around myself to protect and shield me, since I’d lost both my parents.
There was my Irish family, of course - they’d always been there for me. It was weird the way they all thought the sun shone out of Liam’s backside, despite the fact that he committed the cardinal sin of being English. Gran had just instinctively trusted him for some reason, as she insisted that he was The One, and she was certainly a canny old lady.
So what happened now? As we lay together that night in Liam's bed, having sealed this new special status between us by making love again, slowly this time, after our desperate need earlier, I thought things through.
Either I trusted Liam or I didn't - there was no place for half measures. It had to be whole-hearted one hundred percent trust or things would never work between us. So I decided that’s the way it would be from now on. Whatever happened next, I would put my faith in Liam, and trust that he was being totally honest with me. Once I'd made this decision, I felt myself relax and a sense of calm wash over me, because now I could finally let myself go and lean on this dependable rock that had been sent into my life. I wasn’t on my own anymore.
Liam had been so loving and caring, even after seeing the way I'd wrecked the apartment, even after I slapped his face
really
hard. I’d totally lost it when I got back from the office, as the picture of him with Kimberley played over and over in my head, and I’d wanted to destroy anything connected with him - which meant virtually everything in the place. But the destruction didn't faze him - he just calmly made a phone call to his facilitator guy, and instructed him to sort it.
Once that matter had been taken care of, Liam totally concentrated on us, on me. He switched his phone off, and didn't even check in with the office. I didn't envy Joy having to deal with the fallout from all his cancelled meetings, but Liam just shrugged and said it was what she was paid to do when I made some comment.
We didn't want to burst our special little bubble by going out anywhere for dinner, and I wasn’t fussy about what we ate, so Liam just threw together some food for us, from the supplies that his housekeeper, Aggie, had left. She seemed lovely - kind and caring - not at all intimidating, as I’d somehow expected her to be.
I thought about the fact that I knew Kimberley had handed herself to Liam on a plate twice now, and I believed him when he said he’d turned her down both times. He’d chosen
me
instead. He was here with
me
now, not her. It was
me
he loved, not Kimberley. So I had to step up to the plate and ‘woman up’. I had to stop acting the whiney, insecure, pathetic little girl as I had been up till now, and instead meet Liam head on.
I decided that I was going to learn every trick and skill in the book to be the best lover he’d ever had, so that he’d never give any of his previous lovers a second thought from now on. But they hadn't been his lovers, they’d just been his sexual partners, that was the crucial difference, wasn’t it? Considering his past history, I realised that Liam had really put himself out on a limb to tell me that he loved me, when talking about these kind of feelings obviously didn't come naturally to him.
I truly valued that about him. I can't stand insincerity, like a guy telling you he loves you on the first date, just to try and get into your knickers.
Liam’s obvious total sincerity when he told me he loved me meant that I believed him when he e
xplained how Scott had tried to manipulate things - I’d always had a bad feeling about that guy anyway, for some reason. And as much as I hated to admit it, I couldn't really blame Kimberley for lusting after Liam when she had no idea about me, could I? But when he’d set her right, I bet she’d been gobsmacked. She may well have been misled by Scott, but my inner bitch would still have loved to have seen the look on her face.
So now, whatever happened, whatever came our way, I was going to put my faith and trust in Liam. And I had to start by being equally as honest with him as he’d been with me. I had to face my ins
ecurities and open up to him. He deserved to feel the way I had when he’d told me he loved me.
I gently kissed his chest as I lay in his arms while he lay dozing, his big strong arms wrapped around me protectively in the way that I loved. His eyes flew open as he looked down at me.
“Good god woman, are you still not satisfied?” he slowly grinned at me, while running his hand over my hip.
“Actually, I just want to talk to you,” I smiled back, as I kissed his lips. For such a big, powerful man, he had surprisingly soft lips.
I loved his lips.
“Talk? Is that all? Because I'm sure I could rise to the occasion if you had other ideas.” He pushed his hips towards me, and I could already feel the stirrings of his interest against me.
“Yes, just talk, Liam. For now, anyway.” I resisted the temptation of taking his delightful cock in my hand and encouraging his interest.
I loved his cock.
“Okay,” he sighed, as he rolled onto his back, pulling me to lie on his chest. For a minute, I just lay there and listened to the steady rhythm of his heart, which was solid and dependable, just like him.
My Liam.
“I just wanted you to know… I just thought you should be aware…” I started. Wow, this was much harder than I’d imagined, especially as Liam was now running his hand over the cheeks of my backside.
“Have I told you what a great, sexy bottom you have?” he murmured, as he leaned down to nuzzle my neck. God, he smelled so good, I found myself thinking as I ran my fingers through the soft silkiness of his spiky hair.
I loved his hair.
“Liam, stop it! I have to tell you something important, and you’re distracting me!” I pushed myself back from him and tried to clear my head from the powerful spell he always cast over me, which meant we inevitably ended up having sex whenever he touched me.
