“Of course,” murmured Tom, as he watched the pair of us.
Liam refused to be ignored, however. He came and stood right by me, just his closeness making my heart beat faster. I had an almost overwhelming urge to reach out and touch him, but very aware that we had an audience, I managed to resist.
“Are you taking your lunch break now? I thought we could go together,” he suggested quietly, as his eyes bore into me hungrily, and I knew it wasn’t food he was hungry for. I was tempted, sorely tempted to give in. But I resisted, my resolve strengthened by the fact that by now the whole office was watching our every move.
“No, Mr. Starr. I’m going to work through actually, and just grab something to eat at my desk.” I tore my eyes away from him, working hard to keep up the professional front between us by addressing him formally.
“That’s against company policy. I expect all my employees to take a proper break - it promotes more efficient working.”
“I’ll be taking a break a bit later. I just want to get this section I've been working on finalised first,” I insisted firmly.
Liam glared at me, and for one horrid moment, I thought he was going to make a scene, but he a
pparently thought better of it.
“I’ll see you tonight then. I’ll let you know when I'm ready to leave.”
“Actually, I’ll probably be working late to get these designs finished, so I’ll make my own way back.” I met his look straight on.
“If you need more time, you should have said, because I don't want you working late. I want you to come home with me.” His voice was very quiet, but had a cold steely edge to it that sent shivers down my spine. I didn't think anyone else could actually hear what he was saying, but the last thing I needed right now was a full on row with The Boss in front of everyone.
“Okay, well perhaps I can finish them off at home,” I suggested as a compromise.
Liam just smiled slowly at me, as he leant down to whisper in my ear.
“Trust me, I have other much more interesting plans for you this evening, especially as you won’t satisfy my appetite this lunchtime.”
Then he kissed my cheek, nodded his head at Tom who was trying his best not to gawp at us, then strode off down the office, leaving me standing there blushing furiously.
The tension between us in his car on the way home from work only increased as we got in the lift, which thankfully had other occupants in it, so Liam had to behave himself.
But we barely made it into his apartment before he threw his things down, grabbed me into his arms and kissed me.
“I want you so badly, that if you’d been wearing a skirt, I'd probably have taken you in the car,” he growled. “I hate these fucking stupid trousers you’re wearing.”
He literally tore them off me and threw them to the side, then ripped my blouse open, a couple of the buttons popping off in his haste.
“Liam!” I tried to protest. It was kind of scary him behaving like this, but it was also thrilling. He towered over me, pushing me back against the wall of the hallway as he virtually tore my clothes off.
“I’ll buy you a dozen fucking new blouses, but right now I just need to see you and touch you,” he breathed in my ear, as I stood there in my white lacy underwear and high-heeled black sandals. “God, you look so fucking hot. I’ve been thinking about you all day, and now I can't wait to have you.”
I was just as desperate to get my hands on him too. I impatiently pulled at his tie, then undid his shirt for him to shrug off, while he hurriedly shucked off his shoes and socks.
“I want you too,” I panted. Liam undid my bra and tossed it aside so he could cup my breasts with his big hands, as he kissed and bit my neck and my lips and my ears.
I reached down to blindly fumble with the fastener on his trousers, and when I managed to get them undone, he stepped out of them along with his boxers, then picked me up as I wrapped my legs around his waist. He headed up the spiral staircase towards his bedroom, but stopped when I reached down to stroke his massive hard cock.
“I’m going to fuck you right here on the stairs if you don't stop that,” he groaned.
“Just do it. Fuck me right here,” I urged him breathlessly, as I carried on teasing him with my fi
ngers. “I want you to fuck me everywhere, in every possible way.” No more shy little Sera. That’s what I'd decided, and hell, this was exciting.
The spiral staircase had a central chrome metal pole, and now as Liam supported me, I leant back against it and held on as Liam ripped my lace thong off. Then I hooked my legs over his arms, as he lowered me down onto his wonderful cock.
It was heaven. I felt him filling me, stretching me to the limit, as he groaned with sheer pleasure. I couldn’t help thinking that surely he hadn't taken any of his previous lovers in this way, and that gave me a real buzz. This was what I wanted from now on. New ways to fuck that even he’d never tried before.
“Fuck, Sera. You feel so fucking good this way.”
Liam ground even harder into me as I clung to the metal pole, just letting him slide me up and down his hard length. All I knew was that it felt fantastic each time he surged deeply inside me, especially when he started kissing me, his tongue dancing with mine to match each powerful stroke of his cock, and I could feel my orgasm building. I was overwhelmed by sensation, with my big powerful man dominating and controlling me in this way, yet all the while knowing that this was my choice, that I was
allowing
him to control me. It made me feel so empowered, especially when I saw how much it was turning him on.
“That’s it, Liam,” I cried out as we reached our climaxes together. I exploded around him, shatte
ring into a thousand pieces, and as I let go of the pole to cling to him, he gripped me tightly.
“Seraphina,” he murmured. “You’re mine. Forever.”
“And you’re mine, too,” I whispered back, collapsing against him as he finally withdrew.
He carried me up the rest of the stairs and made his way to the bedroom, where he threw back the duvet with one hand before he gently laid me on the bed, then came and lay next to me. I happily curled up against him as he put his arms around me.
“That was really good,” he smiled down at me. “A new one to add to our list - stair sex.”
“Did it make up for the lack of office sex today?” I smiled up at him as I ran my fingers along the outline of his abs - he had such a mighty fine body that it was hard to resist touching him.
“Hmm, I suppose so, just about. Why wouldn’t you see me at lunch time?” he frowned.
“You know why. It’s hard enough as it is, dealing with the gossip…”
“What gossip? What have you heard?” I picked up a warning tension in Liam's voice.
“Nothing I can't handle, but I don't want to seem to be flaunting our relationship in people’s faces. I’d rather we played things really low key and I just get on with proving myself in my job.”
“You have proved yourself in your job. That’s why I employed you,” Liam insisted, as he gently ran his fingers up and down my arm.
“I know, but maybe that’s not how it seems to everyone. All they see is The Boss giving his new young girlfriend this great job, when she’s fresh out of uni. You have to admit, initially even you gave me a hard time when I was the new intern,” I reminded him.
“That was different. Now everyone’s seen how talented you are, there’s no reason for anyone to be giving you a hard time. Are they questioning my judgement? Who is it? I want to know,” Liam persisted.
“No-one. Now, I'm going to have a quick shower and then find some clothes to replace the ones you shredded just now.” I kissed his cheek and then quickly jumped up off the bed, before he could grill me anymore.
“What’s this room?” I asked curiously a bit later. I was walking past the room next to Liam's be
droom, and I’d never yet seen the door open.
“That’s one of the guest bedrooms.”
“Is that where your previous partners stayed the night?” I stared up at Liam, who was dressed in black jeans and T-shirt after his shower. He looked at me warily, no doubt thinking of my previous jealousy issues.
“Yes, it is. I told you - you’re the only one who’s ever shared my bedroom with me. And now, I want you in it all the time,” he smirked, as he slipped his arm around my waist and pulled me in for a kiss.
“Why do you always keep it locked?” I persisted, having always found the room inaccessible whenever I’d tried the door. I thought I had the right to ask, seeing as he’d told me there were to be no secrets between us. Also, he’d asked me to move in with him, and even though I'd turned him down, if I did ever agree, I'd want to feel I had access to all rooms, wouldn’t I?
“To protect against prying eyes. Not yours,” he hastily added. “But how else do you think the boys in the student house were able to gossip so accurately about me?”
“Ah. Jamie. Of course,” I smiled. “I think he was very impressed by your little fuck pad, from what I can remember. So, do I get to look around in there?” I was very curious about whatever it was that he felt needed locking away.
Liam frowned.
“Maybe when I’ve had a chance to clear it out, which I haven’t got around to yet.” He was obviously uncomfortable and tried to move us away, but I stood my ground.
“What are you hiding in there that you don't want me to see?”
“Nothing. It’s just… everything in there is connected with my past, the old me, and I don't want you contaminated with it. You are my new beginning, my fresh start. My lovely, sweet Seraphina.”
“Ugh. You make me sound like a packet of sickly sweets.” I pulled a face.
“Well, you certainly taste delicious,” he murmured, as he nuzzled my neck and caged me against the wall.
“Talking of food… sort of… let’s go and get something to eat. I’m starving.” I ducked under his arm and headed towards the kitchen.
I was determined to get into that bedroom at some point, because I wanted to know what games and tricks Liam had got up to with his previous partners - so that I could improve, and better them.
As we sat together
in the restaurant where I'd taken Sera out to celebrate her exam results after all the weeks of waiting for them to come through, she was still finding it hard to believe she’d got her well-earned first.
“I keep thinking they’ll find out they’ve made some terrible mistake, and that really I only just scraped a pass
,” she confessed, as she absent-mindedly played with the food on her plate. She looked so beautiful that I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Her glossy dark hair curled over her shoulders, and she was wearing a green dress that made her eyes stand out like emeralds. I noticed that every other man in the place was also finding it hard to take their eyes off her, but hopefully the look I shot their way told them they could all just fuck off. She was taken, she was mine, and I was the lucky bastard she was with, not them.
“Why? Apart from being naturally gifted, you also worked incredibly hard, so you fully deserved your first. Well done, I’m really proud of you.” I raised my glass of champagne - I’d arranged for Greg to drive us tonight so that we could relax and celebrate properly with a few drinks.
“Thanks, Liam,” she smiled, as she raised her glass to mine. “It’s really nice here. Great atmosphere. You know all the best places, don't you?”
I’d taken her to La Chapelle, a small restaurant in a converted Victorian chapel. It was quiet, di
screte, carried a half-decent wine list, and as it was near to my offices in Bishopsgate, I often used it for business lunches. Now it was perfect for a romantic dinner.
“I like good food and wine, and I don't believe in wasting my time, so I make it my business to only frequent the best places,” I explained.
“Well, I really like it here. I think it’s fantastic when old defunct buildings with character are revitalised and given a new lease of life. I love that they’ve kept that high vaulted ceiling with those wonderful beams,” Sera commented as she looked upwards.
To be honest, I hadn't really taken much notice of it up till now, but as I looked, I could see what she meant - it was stunning. Her artistic nature meant she’d noticed all these details in a way that I never really had - she was opening my eyes in so many ways. To life, to love, to beauty, and to so many other things, in so many different ways. I felt as if I'd been walking round with my eyes shut before I met Seraphina, just burying m
yself in work.
I never wanted to go back to that again.
Seraphina was not only a very beautiful and sexy woman, she was also very smart, and very talented. She was certainly never boring, and I guessed that was all part of the reason I’d been drawn so strongly, and fallen so hard for her, because she was so different from any other woman I'd ever known - she just totally intrigued and fascinated me.
I reached into my jacket pocket to retrieve the box I'd been carrying around.
“Here’s a little gift to celebrate your good news.”
I handed her the red Garrard jeweller’s box.
“Liam, you shouldn’t have! You already sent me that huge bouquet of beautiful flowers at work, which totally obscured my desk, you’ve brought me here for dinner, and now a present as well?” She stared at the box, as if scared to touch it.
“I like buying you presents. It makes me happy. I like being happy. You wouldn’t want to deny me that pleasure, so why don't you just go ahead and open it?” I took her hand in mine, and gently ran my thumb over her knuckles. I really hoped she was going to
like what I’d chosen - when I picked it out I thought it was perfect for her.
“I don't think I can deny you anything, Liam,” she murmured as she retrieved her hand to open the box, and then gasped when she saw the contents. It was a white gold and diamond cuff bracelet, in the shape of a wing - an angel wing.
“Liam, it’s beautiful,” she whispered, as she touched it almost reverently. “I’m sure it must have been very expensive.”
“I thought it was very you, Angel. The cost is irrelevant.”
I took it out of the box and slipped it onto her slender wrist. It was a perfect fit.
“You know, they could easily make a matching ring for you. I'd really like to buy that as well, and I'd really like to put it on
this
finger.” I took hold of her wedding finger and kissed it. “Or you could have any other design of your choice, whatever you want, it’s yours. Just say you’ll marry me.”
“Liam, please don't do this. Don’t spoil things. I told you I wasn’t ready for that kind of thing,” she said as she snatched her hand away.
Naturally I was disappointed, but not surprised, and not in the least deterred. Seraphina was going to be my wife at some point in the not too distant future. It was just a question of when, not if.
“You can't blame me for trying, seeing as you did just say you can't deny me anything,” I smiled. “So, I’ll just have to keep trying, won’t I?”
“Liam Starr, you can be very trying indeed,” Sera rolled her eyes, but the awkward moment quickly passed. At least she’d accepted the bracelet, and I noticed that she kept looking at it and touching it during the evening, so she seemed to like it, which made me ridiculously happy for some reason.
“If you let me have the details, I’ll pay off your student loan,” I suggested later, as Greg drove us back from the restaurant. Thanks to a few discrete checks I’d made, I knew this was her only outstanding debt.
“You will not! Why on earth should you pay off my loan?” Sera turned to look at me in apparent amazement.
“I’d have thought that was obvious, Sera. You should always make getting rid of any debt that’s accruing interest your first priority in managing your finances. And seeing as I can easily provide the means for you to do so, it’s the logical course of action, isn’t it?” I explained, slightly irritated that she would let pride stand in the way of simple common sense. “Although if letting me clear the slate bothers you, I’m sure I could come up with several different ways that you could repay me, if you insisted.” I grinned salaciously as Sera batted my arm.
“I bet you could, but I'd rather repay my debts in my own way and in my own time, thank you all the same. I took the loan out, so it’s my responsibility to pay it off. I’ll take care of it,” she insisted rather haughtily, her eyes glinting at me.
“Just think about my offer, Sera, before you reject it out of hand. It seems a real shame for you to be paying unnecessary interest, when it could so easily be paid off. I’m sure you realise by now that coming up with a few quid would be no hardship for me.”
“I wouldn’t call it just a few quid Liam - it’s several thousand pounds, but in any case, repaying it is not an issue for me. The student loan company will just take a payment from my wages each month, which I can easily manage now that I'm earning a decent wage. So thanks for your offer, but no thanks.”
I sighed in frustration, resigning myself to the fact that for now at least, she wasn’t going to let me help her.
Sera was so different from Jamie - he never had any problems about accepting money from me. I guess it was just what he was used to and therefore expected. However, from now on he was going to have to get used to being weaned off my support, because he needed to stand on his own two feet once he went off to Australia. Maybe this trip would be the making of him, make him start ta
king responsibility for himself - that’s what I was hoping anyhow. Despite my recent harsh words to him, I still worried about my little brother. I just couldn’t help it. Old habits die hard I suppose.
“Look, I agreed that you could come to my Graduation Ceremony earlier this week, didn’t I? Although it beats me why you wanted to waste an entire afternoon sitting through hours of names being read out, just so you got to see my thirty seconds of fame, especially as you’d already sat through Jamie’s ceremony the day before,” Sera scowled at me.
It was the weekend, and we’d just come back together from the gym on Saturday morning. I'd been working out and she’d had a yoga class, so we were both rather sweaty and in need of a shower. I was planning for us to take one together - shower sex with Sera was always great, but then any kind of sex with Sera was great. Because of the ever-present connection between us, it was always som
ething far more meaningful than just sex. I’d never experienced anything like it before, and maybe that was why I seemed to have gone from one extreme to the other - from not even believing in love, to becoming a love junkie, unable to exist or function without Seraphina in my life.
Ever since I’d told Sera that I loved her, her confidence about her sexuality had grown in all areas - except one. However much I tried to reassure her that her first attempt had been fantastic, even though it hadn't gone as she’d anticipated, she was still hesitant about going down on me again. But I wasn’t worried, I was sure that in time, she’d get over her issues, and even if she didn't, it wouldn’t matter to me. We’d just adapt, because there were plenty of other ways for us to enjoy sex together.
Seraphina was so amazing and unique. I hadn't realized how empty my existence had been before I met her. I hadn't known that I was missing the most important element in my life. Love.
Now, she made me feel so alive that I thought I must have been virtually comatose before I met her.
She made me smile.
She made me laugh.
She made me so fucking
happy
.
It was as if everything appeared in Technicolor instead of monochrome when she was around.
But the downside to this was the crushing emptiness I felt whenever we were apart. I wanted to be with her, be involved in every aspect of her life, especially as I felt this fierce protectiveness towards her. She needed me to look after her, even if her stubborn independence blinded her to this fact. If anything were ever to happen to Seraphina, my life wouldn’t be worth living - it was that simple. My priorities had shifted. Although my business was still very important to me, it was no longer my sole focus - taking care of Sera had become my first priority.
“Your family couldn’t be there from Ireland, and I thought you’d be glad of some support. I wouldn’t have missed seeing you in your mortar board and gown for the world. So why can't I come to your Graduation Ball as well?”
I didn't understand why she was so adamant that I couldn’t go with her. I knew I was hardly likely to enjoy an evening with a bunch of moronic students, but I didn’t give a shit about that. I could tolerate it, because it would be far worse not knowing what was going on if I wasn’t there, as I couldn’t stand the thought of sleazy guys getting close or touching her up, especially as I knew how fucking hot she looked when she danced.
“Liam, you’re ten years older than me and most of the other students, so you’d stick out like a sore thumb, mixing with a whole bunch of art students. And a large percentage of the guys are gay an
yway, so you needn’t worry about them hitting on me. It’s just that they’re… well… very different from the type of people you’re used to mixing with. Even I find them a challenging bunch of loonies a lot of the time.”
“But that’s all the more reason why I don't want you going on your own,” I argued back. I hated, loathed, the thought of her being out with a bunch of drunken idiots without me. I’d even tried bribing her to miss it by offering to take her to New York for a few days, but she refused, saying we could go there any time, but there’d only be one chance to go to this stupid fucking Graduation Ball.
“I won’t be on my own. I’ll be with Abbey and Toby,” she smiled sweetly at me.
“That’s not the same, is it? They’ll be there to have a good time, not look out for you. I can’t b
elieve that you seem to have forgotten how the last student ball you went to ended so disastrously,” I reminded her.
“Oh for God’s sake Liam. That was all due to a stupid misunderstanding between Jamie and me, as we’ve both explained to you. Nothing like that is going to happen this time,” she huffed. “Just let me enjoy being an immature, mindless student mixing with all my uni friends for one last time, hmm? This’ll be my last chance, so please, just back off with all your stupid over-protectiveness. After this, I’ll be finished with the whole student thing, so then I’ll try to act like a proper grown up, and come to places like New York with you. But just give me this one last evening all to myself. Please?” She shot me her best winning smile as she tried to cajole me.
“Seeing as you only bought one ticket, unless I'm prepared to gatecrash, it doesn’t seem I have much option, does it?” I scowled back at her.
“I still don't know how you managed to wangle a ticket for the Grad ceremony, so I wouldn’t put it past you to have somehow acquired one for the ball,” Sera muttered as she gave me a black look.
I smiled but made no comment. It was amazing what the offer of a generous donation to the university could achieve. Miraculously, a Graduation Ceremony ticket had been found for me, even though Sera had insisted that none were to be had. So naturally, I also had a ticket for her Graduation Ball - I just had to weigh up how furious Sera would be if I turned up against her express wishes.
“If you let me come, I promise to keep out of the way and let you enjoy yourself. I just want to make sure you’re safe, that’s all. What’s wrong with that?” I tried again to persuade her.
