I scowl at him. “Still a virgin, dickhead.”

“Damn it, man! You are going to try and take care of that with her right?” Rob squawks.

“Dude, you act like I’ve never had the opportunity to have sex. Believe me, I have had more than my fair share of offers, I choose to wait for the right person,” I scoff incredulously.

“Right, you’re right, sorry. So what’s the deal with Lizette then? How come she suddenly agreed to go out with you?”

“I asked for a month to prove that we are good together. I mean, we have serious chemistry.”

“What happens at the end of the month?” Rob asks with a frown.

“I’m leaving that up to her. I told her that we can either stay together or break up and I’ll never bother her again.”

Rob’s eyes flash with pity. “Beau, you know that that is exactly what she’s doing this for, right? To get you to stop bothering her.”

I smile sadly, a small ache forming in the center of my chest. “I know, but at least I get a month with her. All I can do is pray that she changes her mind.”

“Don’t get your hopes up. Lizette is a stubborn, hardheaded woman and she is going to break your heart,” Rob says, shaking his head.

“I’ll worry about that when the month is up. Right now, I just want to enjoy my time with her,” I murmur, walking over to grab my bags.

Rob takes one and follows me to the door. I’m not stupid, I know why Lizette agreed to the deal. She wants to send me packing at the end of our month together so that I will stop badgering her for dates. Well, I’ll be damned if I don’t try my hardest to change her mind, maybe even get her to fall in love with me. God, I hope she stays.

Chapter Six

*Beau*

I knock on Ace’s hotel room door and wait for him to answer. I am so not looking forward to the awkward conversation I’m about to have, but it needs to be done. He opens the door a few seconds later and smiles. Ace is a good-looking dude with crystal blue eyes that the ladies swoon over. His hair is dark brown, which he keeps semi-long up top; he says he likes having it pulled during sex. He also keeps a neatly trimmed goatee on his face. I don’t know if it’s even considered a full goatee since it’s just a mustache and chin hair.

“Hey buddy, what’s shakin’?” Ace asks.

“Can I talk to you for a minute?” I ask in return.

His smile fades slightly as he moves to the side to let me in. “Sure, man, come in.”

He shuts the door behind me before coming up and clapping me on the back. His light blue eyes look me over.

“What’s going on, dude?” he asks, a hint of concern in his tone.

“I…ah…I need to ask you some sex related questions,” I say tightly. I can feel the flush creeping up my neck.

Ace barks out a laugh. “Well, well, well, baby Beau has finally found someone he wants to boink, is that it?”

“Yes.” I groan. I drop my head back and close my eyes, hating this conversation already.

“You have definitely come to the right place, my friend. I can tell you everything you need to know about the female body and sex.” He chuckles.

Ace leads me into the kitchenette area and tells me to have a seat. I sit at the little table while Ace goes to the mini fridge and pulls out two beers. He cracks them open and hands one to me as he sits down across from me. His crystal blue eyes are dancing with delight, no doubt loving the fact that I came to him for advice on sex.

“So, fire away, what do you want to know?” Ace asks, sipping his beer.

I can feel the heat crawling to my cheeks. Ace sees it, too, because his smile softens and his eyes fill with understanding.

“Hey, it’s just us, I’m not gonna repeat anything you ask or say, I promise. If you’re thinking about having sex then it’s better to ask questions and know what you’re doing verses fumbling around like an idiot,” Ace says sincerely.

I nod. “I know. It’s just embarrassing, I guess,” I admit, having a hard time meeting his gaze.

“I understand. It was embarrassing for me my first time, too. I think everybody has felt the way you’re feeling at one point or another.”

I take a deep breath and a sip of my beer. “Okay, I think my biggest issue is condoms, I don’t know what kind to get.”

Ace shrugs. “It’s really all about personal preference. Definitely get something with spermicide as a precaution. I personally like the thinnest ones I can find, sensation is much better.”

“Is there really a big difference in going with or without a condom?”

“I wouldn’t know, never went without,” he replies.

My eyebrows shoot up in surprise. “Really? Never?”

“Yeah, man. I’m not looking to knock up some chick I’m never planning to see again, and I sure as hell don’t want an STD,” Ace scoffs.

“What about when you were with Hannah?”

Hannah was Ace’s girlfriend for two years up until a few months ago. She apparently couldn’t handle the lifestyle anymore. There were constant rumors of Ace cheating, which weren’t true, but she got tired of hearing it and just gave up on the relationship.

Ace shook his head. “Nope, she wasn’t on birth control.”

“Okay, so never ever go without a condom, check.”

“Not unless you want a kid or an STD.” Ace chuckles.

I smile, relaxing some. “Got it.”

“So who’s the lucky girl who gets your virginity?” he asks curiously.

“Well, I don’t even know if she wants it, I’m just trying to be prepared in case she does,” I say, picking at the label of my beer.

“And who is she?” he pushes.

“I can’t tell you,” I mutter, knowing Ace isn’t going to like that answer.

He frowns at me from across the table. “What the hell does that mean? Why can’t you tell me?”

“Because she doesn’t want anyone to know that we’re together,” I answer, glancing up to see him watching me shrewdly.

“Why the hell not?” Ace grunts, narrowing his eyes at me before taking a swig of his beer.

“It’s complicated, just don’t worry about it.” I sigh.

“Fine,” he huffs. “Back to condoms; have you ever put one on before, just fucking around?”

I feel my face turn bright red again. “No,” I croak.

Ace smiles wide and finishes off his beer. “Alright then, let’s practice.”

I gape at him as he gets up from the table and disappears into the other room. Practice? What the fuck? How does Ace want me to practice? Does he really think that I’m gonna be able to get a hard on in front of him? Not a fucking chance! Ace returns with a strip of square foil packets, five all together. He goes over to the counter by the sink and grabs a banana that is sitting there. He comes back over to the table and sets the banana and strip of condoms down in front of me. Relief washes over me, he wants me to practice on a banana! Thank freaking God!

“Give it a try,” he says, motioning toward the banana and condoms.

I rub me sweaty palms on the tops of my thighs. Why am I so nervous?

“I feel like an ass,” I mutter as I reach for the strip of condoms.

“Better than looking like one when you are in the middle of fooling around and fumble with a condom that you don’t know how to put on.” Ace snorts.

I raise an eyebrow at him and smirk. “True.”

Ace nods toward the condoms on the table. “Go on.”

I blow out a breath and grab the strip of condoms. I rip one off then tear open the package. I look at it, trying to figure out which way it goes. I grab the banana when I think I’ve got it figured out and set it over the bottom of the fruit.

“Helpful tip, pinch the tip of the condom before you roll so it doesn’t get air in it,” Ace says.

I do what he says and roll the condom down over the banana. I hold it up to show Ace, who smiles and nods.

“Good job, do it one more time then you can keep the rest,” he says.

After practicing one more time, I pocket the rest of the condoms. Ace warns me that they do have an expiration date – something I didn’t know. I thank my best friend before heading back to my own room. We had already done the radio shows in Philly and had arrived in Hollywood this afternoon. We already did the taping for
The Tonight Show
. We will be heading over to do
Jimmy Kimmel Live
in a couple of hours.

I haven’t had one second of alone time with Lizette since we started this trip and I was hoping to convince her to spend the night with me again. That’s why I went to Ace when I did. I want to be prepared. Lizette is the only woman I have ever considered losing my virginity to. I know that she won’t go around spreading rumors about me that could get back to my mother. That is one of the biggest reasons I’m still a virgin. My mother is very religious and believes in waiting until marriage. She’s never forced that on her kids, but I know that it would break her heart if I ever became some kind of man-whore who slept with a shit ton of groupies. I can’t do that to her, so I’ve waited. And if Lizette doesn’t want to be with me in that way, then I will wait longer.

*Lizette*

I yawn, covering my mouth with the back of my hand. We are all crammed in a van on our way back to the hotel. It’s almost 2:00 am and I am completely wiped out. Jet lag doesn’t help either. I somehow ended up next to Beau. His arm is resting on the back of the seat behind me with his fingers brushing my shoulder, on purpose no doubt. I can see the longing in his eyes, he wants to touch me so badly, but since we’ve been in a group pretty much this whole trip, he hasn’t been able to. I have to admit that I have been tempted a few times to go up and hug him just to take that pained look out of his eyes. Beau is a lovey-dovey, touchy-feely kind of guy. He’s affectionate and I know that it is killing him that he can’t show his affection for me in front of everyone else.

So, in the van, I lean into him and drop my head onto his shoulder. I could have done that with any of the guys, so they wouldn’t think anything of it. He makes a soft pleased noise that only I hear and leans his cheek against the top of my head. He’s so warm and comfortable that I find myself dozing off.

I wake to Beau’s quiet voice telling the guys to go ahead, that he would take care of me. I hear Roland mutter something, but can’t make it out. Beau quietly tells him to shut the fuck up. Whatever is going on between Beau and Roland seems to be getting worse. I’ve noticed them arguing more and more. Eventually, I might have to step in and force them to talk it out and make up. Friction within the group is not productive and could potentially be destructive.

I feel Beau’s fingers trail across my cheek. “Hey, Sugar, wake up, we’re here,” he murmurs softly.

I drag my eyes open and focus on Beau, whose face is hovering just above my own. I give him a soft smile. “Hey.”

“Hey, do you want to me carry you?” he asks with a smirk.

“You would like that, wouldn’t you?” I roll my eyes.

“I would
love
to hold you in my arms,” he replies sincerely, his eyes dancing over my face while his thumb strokes my cheek.

My heart flutters. No man has ever spoken to me so sweetly before. I can’t help but smile shyly at him. Beau leans down and brushes his lips lightly over mine. I suck in a sharp breath as my body roars to life. How does he do that? I can’t understand how the simplest touch from Beau makes my body come to life when all of the other men I’ve been with were forced to really work for it. Butterflies take over my stomach as his lips press against mine more firmly for a moment before he backs away.

“Come back to my room with me?” he asks, his lips still close enough to brush mine as he talks.

I can only nod since I’m not in control of my body anymore, my vagina is. And that little bitch wants Beau. All of him, and screw the fact we’ve only being a couple for a few days! I haven’t had sex in a long time and my body is more than ready to break the funk I’ve been in. Beau smiles and kisses me again before he helps me out of the van and leads me inside.

We stop by my room so that I can grab a change of clothes, my toothbrush, and a couple of other things so that I’m not doing the ole whole walk-o-shame in the morning back to my room. Beau seems to be getting more and more nervous as we head back to his room. He even fumbles with his room key, dropping it on the floor. This confuses me because he shouldn’t have any reason to be nervous, it’s not like he’s never been with a woman before.

We finally get inside and Beau locks the door behind us. The room is pitch black since the blinds are closed. I reach out into the darkness for Beau and gasp when I find that he’s right in front of me, my hand bumping into his chest.
