“No one does and this is one I would not have followed through on.”
“Then why did you use it?”
“I needed you to come and talk with me.”
“About what?”
“I need you to help me and my daughter.”
“I see she is already putting things together.”
“Calling you was her idea. I need your help.”
“You knew this was a problem going in.”
“But I didn’t know that love would exact the price that would be paid.”
“Do you really know the secret?”
Jixie told him.
“You’re right; I would not want that to come to light.”
“It won’t. I would never violate that trust.” Jixie waited and said, “If you’ll do this for me, I’ll never ask for anything else.”
“Yes you will.” Jixie didn’t know what to say. “Your daughter will suffer the same fate.” Jixie was stunned. He was right. “Where is he?” Jixie sent the mental image. “You will tell him what I’ve done when he returns and when your daughter is ready, she will know how to find me.”
“Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
“That is why I’ll do this. The two of you remind me of a couple I loved long ago. I watched one of them suffer when they lost their mate.”
“Thank you, Atlas.”

Two universes away Sam watched his display and suddenly felt a shock go through his body. He checked his systems and everything appeared normal. What was that?
T
he Realm celebrated the announcement that Duke and Duchess Robbins were having a child. The Celebrations on Ross were monumental. Three months after Pixie was born, Sam lead a hundred thousand of the new ships back to the civilization that has sown death and destruction to so many planets. Ten thousand of the new ships went to each of the hundred worlds under the control of the bronze ships and destroyed them all. This tumor on Creation was surgically removed by the blasters of ships that were unstoppable.
Sam and Jixie retired to Castle Gardner to raise their daughter and the Realm entered a period of relative calm. The Cats and Zord did not send the Ream’s ships against the really dangerous species; the Realm still wasn’t ready. Jon and Maranda had another son six months after Pixie was born. Mica turned nineteen and joined the Life Warriors against his father’s objections. He made it clear to his father that Scotty was there for the succession if something happened to him. His quest was fighting against the enemies of the Realm and he insisted that Jon should know that. Jon fought against his decision but in his heart he was proud of what his son had become. Another Robbins was leading the fight, only this one was a Prince.
Mille would visit her granddaughter and was amazed at what she was becoming. The next hatching had more than half of them leave to do their study in the Realm. All of them refused to start the bonding process. They wanted to see what Jixie had discovered and wanted nothing to get in the way of learning. That’s when the new Senior discovered the elements the previous Senior had missed. He discovered that a great intellect is stunted if it never knows love. That became the quest of the Elders. They were determined to reintroduce it to their people. Jixie didn’t need their help. She had found it on her own.
