“When you finally got smart and realized how you felt? I didn’t make a bet about a threesome. I fear Kate’s wrath.”

Yes, he should fear her wrath. She was Kate, fucking hot killing machine, and he should remember that. She elbowed him in the gut and Jake grunted.

“You’re the one who complained they never put you in,” Jake grumbled.

She couldn’t allow Jake to get the upper hand with Chase. That was her job. Kate elbowed him again, harder, and Jake howled. “Woman, I’m not looking at you with lust, I wore a condom, and I had permission to take you wherever I wanted. So, what?”

“Your hipbones are digging into me.” They weren’t, not really, but she couldn’t let Jake lay there and be smugly content. That was Chase’s job.

“No woman has ever complained about my hipbones.”

“Really? Because they hurt. No wonder you have to chase all these women. You may lure them in once, but once they feel those bony hips, they don’t return.”

Chase sighed, again, but Kate saw the smile on his lips, one that said he’d suffer their bickering because he wouldn’t want it any other way. “Are you two going to fight the entire time?”

“No, sir,” they both said in mocking tones and laughed together. Kate had never had an ally before. They could take Chase the boss easily if they ganged up. She grinned against Chase’s chest.

Chase grunted but wrapped his arm around Kate, holding her closer. Kate felt Jake’s arm wrap tighter around her waist, his arm over Chase’s. It was perfect, to have them all intertwined.

“Chase?” Kate whispered when they quieted down. She didn’t think the moment could be any more perfect. “I love you.”

“And I love you, Emma Kate.”
