, I want to thank every reader, blogger, author, who has opened one of my books. You are who truly deserves all the gratitude. Without you, none of this would be possible. For those of you who send me messages, share things on my wall on Facebook about my characters, you make my day. Don’t ever think I don’t appreciate every single one, I do! I forget to thank people all the time, so yeah, I am sure that I have. Just know that I am truly grateful for all of the amazing people in my life. I am truly very blessed.

Cybill Richey, Wendi Temporado, and Tina Morgan, you ladies truly saved my ass. There are parts of this story that are truly great because of YOU!

Chelle Bliss because you simply kick ass! So does your mister. Thank you Brian for making my pages look fabulous.

My Grandmothers for giving me endless material about feisty old birds because yeah… my Grams are epic. The only grandmother I have left on this Earth, may actually be my biggest fan and has only read one book, but I can’t have her tainted while she eats her basket of snack cakes.

My Shaft Groupies, the amazing ladies who I see sharing my posts and message me after a few days of lockdown to make sure that I’m still alive. <3 I love ya!

Sebastio, for being an enabler and Mack for taking all that I throw at you because, yeah, I’ve put you through a lot fictionally. One day, you may actually get to finish… um, maybe.

Sweet tea, loud music, bad jokes from six year olds, violently evil wiener dogs that chase my teenager, amazing neighbors, late night ER visits with the possibility of accusations of abuse with kitty litter tubs, and crazy fun times screaming out the car window at pedestrians…yeah, I have a completely insane life. It’s also crazy awesome.

I truly have the greatest support system ever, online and off. This year has been super rough and rocky so far and every time I think I can’t get back up, I do. Partly, because this bitch I live next door to won’t let me lie down and die. She forbid it… who knew?

Lastly, it may seem that I am rambling because honestly, I am. You see this book needs to officially be 69,000 words so that I can giggle like a teenage boy in sex education class. There can be no neglecting the number 69 when it is my favorite number on Shaft Street and the word of the day is Twatfacedasswhore. Bitchenese is the native language and we will forever live on bacon and shots of tequila. Mmm Bacon. This is the reason why you should always read the back of the book, it’s like a surprise in the bottom of a cereal box. You are welcome.

Great things are coming from me, so in the words of Hunter Chesterfield… Get drunk, fuck, and be merry.

M
y name is
Kennedy Brooks and you're not going to like me. Chances are you may even hate me, and that's okay, there are times I do too.

I had choices, we all do, the ones that I made changed everything.

Before I knew it, the lines of right and wrong began to blur and I was consumed so deeply that I couldn't see a way out even if I wanted to.

The path I chose is not for the faint of heart, it isn't always sweet, but it's real.

What happens when all the things you have always wanted suddenly aren't all you want anymore? What do you do when the forbidden screams your name and both parts of your life become as vital as the air you breathe?

You make a choice.

This is my story.
