INDIGESTION
Indigestion is not a single condition, but the word is used to describe discomfort caused by eating. Excessive burping, flatulence, and heartburn are all signs of indigestion.
CAUSES
Overeating.
Eating foods high in fat.
Excess or deficient stomach acid.
Eating too quickly and not chewing properly.
Action plan
Improve what you eat and the way that you eat it! The following plan should help to prevent indigestion.
EAT/DRINK
Pear and peach juice.
Powdered ginger with a squeeze of lime.
Banana blended with pear or mango juice.
Apple cider vinegar, which is a wonderful digestive tonic. Add to a little warm water and sip slowly before meals.
Miso soup, whole grains, fresh veggies and fruits to reduce gas.
Asparagus, celery, watermelon, and parsley (the parsley will help to freshen your breath as well!). These diuretic “superfoods” will help to flush the rubbish out of your gut. Cilantro also has a reputation for freshening breath.
Umeboshi plums are know as the Japanese Alka-Seltzer.
