There are very good menus, recipes and table decorations for breakfast, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, buffet suppers and sandwiches. Proportions to use when serving large groups of people are also given.
Especially good are the unusual recipes for Mexican, Swedish, Bohemian and Jewish dishes.

This book has 180 pages of quaint and everyday recipes that are famous throughout the South. These recipes, contributed by the housewives of Augusta and vicinity, were published to raise money for the Greene Street Presbyterian Church. It is in use in many homes in Augusta.
There is a recipe for soft ginger bread, a dish that is very popular among the children of today.
A rather amusing recipe for Brandy Peaches is given. At the end of the recipe it is stated that, “they will keep as long as locked up.”

This book has ninety-six pages of delicious Southern recipes. Contributed by Augusta people, many are over a hundred years old. Included also are printed advertisements of the different business concerns of Augusta.
Water melon rind preserves, Creo gumbo, and chow chow are only a few of the tasty recipes.

This book was presented by the Junior League in an attempt to preserve the tradition of Southern cooking. It contains many famous Southern recipes, both old and new. A large variety of them were contributed by people who are famous as good cooks. Each recipe has the name of the person who contributed it and many of them are in print for the first time.
Included in the section devoted to old recipes is an excellent one for that strictly Southern dish, “ ’Possum and ’Taters.”
Wine Jelly is another old and popular recipe that is given.
There is also a very good recipe for Georgia Mint Julip, a famous Southern drink.

Bacon muffins, glorified rice pudding, Southern relish and Hard Times fruit cake are only a few of the tempting recipes given.

A very good recipe for Blackberry Wine is only one of the old and valuable wine recipes given.
