“Mason found out about the lifestyle a few years back and started visiting a club that I used to frequent. He approached me after he’d watched me scene with my then sub, I was willing to take him on, if he’d remain free from drugs. I offered him my help to detox and after a few failed attempts, I told him that until he was clean I didn’t want anything more to do with him,” Stella starts.

“I filled you in on how she knocked me out and sent me to rehab.” Mason cuts in.

“Okay, but what’s your relationship now? I mean it’s been a while since rehab and I can see that you two are quite close. I suppose, I just want to know where my place is in this relationship so I can get it right in my mind.”

Stella stands and takes four steps to reach me. She sits on my lap and with delicate fingers she runs them over my hair and the back of my neck. With her touch I instantly relax, there’s something about her presence that I can find peace and contentment.

All my darkened memories vanish when she makes contact with me. My fears fade away and my shattered soul slowly glues back together.

“Do you need a name for us to work?” Her hot breath reaches my ear.

“I just want to know my place,” I say as I accept her affection.

“You don’t know where you belong in this life, Ryan. We need to figure that out first.” She nips on my earlobe then leaves my lap to go sit beside Mason again.

It takes me a few moments for the haze to lift and for me to regain my senses.

“What do you and Mason have then?”

“We have an arrangement and an agreement. Nothing more. We’re sexually compatible and we both give each other what we need and want,” Mason says.

“So you’re not in love with each other?” I ask.

“We’ve talked about this, Ry. I told you, it’s not like that for us. We have a strong friendship, and we’re both attracted to the other, but neither of us are in love. Do I love Stella? Yes, of course. But I don’t see her as my wife, as she doesn’t see me as her husband.” I look at Stella and she’s nodding agreeing with Mason’s words.

“Then how do you put that barrier up to stop that connection happening?” I quiz them both.

“We provide each other a service, and companionship,” Stella steps in and answers.

“Then what happens if either of you find your perfect partner and you want to be with them?” I look at both of them as I ask.

“Ryan, I’m thirty-four and Stella’s thirty-six, we’ve been doing this for a couple of years. The one thing that works for us so well is how open our communication is, without honesty we would’ve fallen apart a long time ago.”

I nod my head just listening and trying to soak up all the information.

“Have you had two subs before, Stella?” Instantly her face lights up and a huge smile takes over her face.

I look to Mason, and see he’s the same too. I assume that’s a yes.

“Yes I did, but it was only for a short period of time. Mason told me he wanted two women together, so I organized to borrow a sub from a Dom that I know. The sub was fantastic, she fulfilled Mason’s fantasy and I got back into being able to taste a woman.”

Back into being able to taste a woman?

She’s bi sexual?

Fuck, my cock’s getting hard again.

Just imagining Stella sitting pretty on a bed, with a brunette between her legs as she laps at Stella’s sweet arousal from her velvety slit.
Shit!

Damn, stop thinking with my cock.

“Um.” I clear my throat. “What do you mean you borrowed? Does that happen often?”

“Exactly what it sounds like, I borrowed a sub from a Dom. Every D/s relationship has their own rules to suit them. Sometimes they try things and it doesn’t work so they agree not to do it again. Sometimes, they just want to experience it once to see what it’s like. I myself, don’t share unless you, the sub, want the encounter.”

That seems fairly logical.

“So at no stage will you just say, ‘Ryan I’m lending you out’?”

“Not unless you tell me you want that. And if you do, then it’s my responsibility to find you a male or female Dominant that best suits your needs. I won’t be careless, and I won’t leave you alone in the care of another Dominant or Dominatrix, I’ll be present too. They’ll be able to play with you and scene with you, but you belong to me. And I take very good care of my possessions.”

“I’m your possession?” I think I best do more in depth research into this lifestyle. I’ve only just touched on it, and with what Stella’s saying, she’s confusing me.

“Yes, Ryan. When you’re in sub mode, I own you. I own every part of you. Your mind can let go and just be free, knowing that I’ll take care of your needs. And your body will learn to abandon the stress that resonates so deep within your soul.”

How can she see straight through me like this? It’s unnerving, yet exhilarating that I don’t have to put on my mask in front of her.

Chapter 13

I hear Lucy pad down the hallway, and see Mason and Stella move away from each other.

Lucy comes and curls herself up on my lap, and I give her a kiss on the forehead. She’s still a little warm to touch, but not too bad.

“How are you feeling?” Stella asks as she stands and goes to her medical bag.

“I’m okay, thank you,” Lucy says as she lets out a yawn.

“I’m just going to check your temperature.”

“Okay.”

Lucy sits still on my lap as Stella brings the digital thermometer to her forehead.

“She’s got a slight fever, but I’d let her body fight it. You hungry, Lucy Lui?” Stella asks.

“She’s one of my favorite actresses,” she squeals.

“She’s one of mine, too. I loved her in Charlie’s Angels.”

“Me too!” Lucy almost shouts.

“So, are you hungry?” Stella asks again.

“I am, but I want soup and dad sucks at making that. It’s always so…” Lucy pokes her tongue out indicating that my soup tastes disgusting. She’s not wrong of course, it does. I chuckle to myself and shake my head.

“Well, I’m really good at making soup. I’m sort of known as the soup queen back at home. I make the best tomato soup, ever.” Stella takes Lucy’s hand and leads her toward the kitchen.

“That’s my favorite one, but dad makes it with no taste. I like it tasty so I can dunk my grilled cheese in it.”

“Lucy, I think you and I are definitely going to be awesome friends. You wanna know my little secret?”

“Dad said I’m never allowed to have secrets and I have to tell him if anyone says I have to keep one,” I hear Lucy tell Stella.

Stella’s eyes snap up to find mine and I look away from her, not wanting her to see the black I’m hiding.

“Well, your dad’s very right. No one should have secrets from the ones we love, especially beautiful ten year old girls from their mom and dad.”

“You mean me, right?”

“Of course, unless Uncle Mason’s a ten year old girl.”

“I’ve not been a ten year old girl for lots of years,” Mason shouts out to the two lovely women in my life.

“You really are a dork, Uncle Mason.”

“C’mon Lucy, I’ll teach you how to make my tomato soup and you can make it for yourself and your dad so you don’t have to eat his yuck soup.”

I hear the glorious sound of the two beautiful creatures giggling from the kitchen.

Mason gets up and goes toward the back of the house.

I sit in my arm chair and watch them work in the kitchen together, just letting my mind fast forward and accept a happy future.

“Ry,” Mason calls from the down the back of the house.

I get up and go looking for him. He’s in the guest room he’s been in when he’s here and not at Stella’s.

“Hey,” I say from the bedroom door.

“Hey, I want to let you know that I’ll be staying at Stella’s again tonight and I’m leaving really early tomorrow. The studio’s scheduled a 6am flight back to Sydney.”

“Okay.” I avert my eyes and turn my head.

“Don’t do that, Ry. Don’t look away, it’s me, man. We’ve been best friends for how long now?” Mason takes a couple of steps closer to me.

“Yeah I know, a long time.”
I just don’t want you to go.

“Then what’s wrong?”

How do I tell him that I was hoping he’d stay so we could try to find a way for us.

“Look, I think you need to let Stella help you. She’s done so much for me, and I believe she can do the same for you. I saw that look in your eye the other night, I saw the hate that drove you to destroy your room. And when you were in my arms, I felt the hurt just pulsating through you.” He stands in front of me, and brings his hands up to cup my jaw. “We’ll always be in each other’s lives, no matter what happens in the bedroom.” He leans in and gives me a soft kiss.

“I know,” I whisper as I find comfort from his lips.

“If I get another break from filming, I’ll fly back and we can pick up exactly where we left off.”

“I’d like that.”

“But you need to let Stella help you.”

“I will.”

“I think you two would make a perfect couple,” he huffs as he brings me in for an embrace.

“I don’t know who I am, Mason. I don’t know what I want.” I feel Mason’s tongue lightly lick my neck quickly followed by his lips kissing the same area.

“I know, and that’s why you need to let go. Let her lead you, she can be your pillar of strength.”

“Alright,” I say as I press a kiss into his neck.

“I want you to be healthy. Not just here.” He puts his hand on my torso, “but also here,” he says as he taps my head.

“I’m trying, Mase. Really I’m trying.”

“I know you are, and I can see it. It takes someone with a lot of courage to attempt to make heads or tails of what the three of us will embark on.” Mason gives me another kiss.

“God, I’m going to miss you,” I say as I savor his lips.

“C’mon, let’s go find what our Master is doing.”

We leave the room and we both walk out to a luscious and enticing aroma coming from my kitchen.

Stella may just be right, the fragrance from whatever spices they’ve used for the soup quite literally assault us the moment we open the bedroom door.

“She’s a fucking awesome cook, too,” Mason whispers as we’re about to enter the kitchen.

“Are you two hungry?” Lucy asks as Mason and I sit at the kitchen table.

“I’m starved,” I say as I rub my stomach.

“Me too,” Mason adds.

“Can you set the table, Lucy? Remember washing hands first,” Stella gently asks Lucy.

“Yep,” Lucy pops the P. “Daddy, Stella said that she needs a friend to go see a movie with her. I told her you should go, but then she told me it was the new movie with Channing Tatum, and he’s so cute. So can I go?”

“Are you asking me to go to the movies with Stella to see Charlie Tatum?”

“Dad, it’s Channing Tatum not Charlie Tatum. And yes, can I go?” She giggles.

“Well firstly you’re sick, so no. And secondly, why can’t the three of us go together?”

Stella turns her head to look at me over her shoulder. Damn, her eyes. I have to remember not to look at them, because with every intense hard stare she gives me, I know she cuts deeper into my soul.

“You wanna come and watch a Channing Tatum movie with us?” Lucy asks.

“I want to be where my beautiful daughter is, and where Stella is, too. So if that means having to sit through a movie with what’s his name in it, then sure, I do.”

“The movie comes out just before I next come over, so in just under two weeks. Can you buy tickets to it, Dad?”

Um what? Buy tickets to it? From now?

I look to Stella and I’m sure she can see the confusion etched deeply on my face.

“I’ll get the tickets closer to the date and I’ll make sure I get us good seats.”

“Thanks, Stella.” Lucy embraces her and Stella momentarily stills by Lucy’s reaction. But her face softens and she returns the hug, with just as much vigor and affection.

Look away, Ryan. You’re simply her sub and she’s only your Master.

Stella and Lucy bring us bowls with tomato soup and in the middle of the table is a stack of grilled cheese.

We all sit down and Lucy takes her first spoonful of soup, I look over to her and can tell she likes it.

“Stella, that’s just yum.” Lucy brings the spoon to her mouth and has some more. “It’s even better than Mom’s, just don’t tell her I said that,” she says as she looks at me. Mason and I chuckle because we’ve both been on the receiving end of Joanna’s food. It’s not bad, but it’s definitely not great either.

“Once we’re done, we have to take some photos to prove to your friends at school that I really am your uncle.”

“You know I just call you Uncle Mason, and you’re not really daddy’s brother?” Lucy says quite seriously.

“Yeah, we all know that, Lucy,” Mason says as he continues eating.

“Just checking.”

Stella, Mason and I laugh at what Lucy said. She’s quite a character.

When our meals are finished, the ladies, Stella and Lucy, go into the family room as Mason and I clean the kitchen.

“You know, she’s really good with Lucy.” Mason moves his chin to indicate Stella.

“Yeah, I’ve noticed.”

“Ry, she’s
really
good with Lucy.”

I simply nod as I watch them interact as they watch TV.

They talk cheerily and Lucy even cuddles into Stella’s side.

She’s just my Master, not my wife or my lover.

“Don’t be a dumb ass, man,” Mason says as he whips me with the tea towel.

“Look, she’s just our Master.”

“Whatever, just don’t be a dick.”

I gaze over at Stella whose vivid green orbs burn into my own eyes.

The exchange is so small yet so intense and personal.

“C’mon you two. Lucy and I decided we want to play Monopoly.”

Lucy’s already headed for the closet that houses the board games.

“Lucy’s here so I’m going to be careful.” Mason leans in and kisses me softly as Lucy’s getting the game.

“God, yes,” I mumble against Mason’s lips.

“Just because I can,” he mutters as he gives me a little squeeze on the ass.

“Can I set up please?” Lucy enters just as Mason moves away. She didn’t see that, and I’m grateful because after the divorce she doesn’t need to be confused. I’m not ready to explain any of it to Lucy, until I can get my head around it first.
