23-Love Conquers

G
roaning I stretch and open my eyes to a dark room.

Immediately I become alarmed.

“Dillon, where are you?” I whisper loudly.

“I’m still here.” He groans and then turns on a light a few seconds later.

Rubbing his eyes he stands to his feet.

“What happened, why am I in my human form?” I question as I study Blue’s wolf form still lying beside me.

His chest was still moving up and down so he was still alive.

Gently, I begin the task of taking off the gauze from around Blue’s neck before inspecting the skin where his wound had been.

It was nearly healed now.

That was a good sign but the fact that he was still in wolf form had me worried.

“Can you take out the tubes?” I ask Dillon as I hold out my arm.

“I should probably get your father first. He knows more about that stuff than I do, Parker. I don’t want to hurt you.” Dillon replies.

I nod and he rushes out of the room.

While waiting for him to return I stroke my hand over Blue’s soft black fur.

After only a few minutes my father and Dillon return.

“How are his wounds?” He questions as he beings taking the tubes connecting us out of my arm.

“They’re nearly healed. His heartbeat seems strong but he hasn’t changed back into his human form.” I reply softly.

“Maybe he just needs to wake up.” My father sighs as he then moves to take the tubes from Blue’s front leg.

I nod in agreement.

Maybe that’s all that needed to happen.

“Just let him rest for now, Parker. When he’s ready to wake up he will, just stay close by.” Dad sighs as he runs his hand over his face.

I nod again. “I stay with him through the rest of the night. You two can go and get some sleep.”

Dad and Dillon both looked exhausted.

They both nod in agreement and then move towards the door.

Dillon stops and glances back. “If you need me…” He motions towards his head.

“You’ll be the first I call.” I reply with a soft smile.

He nods and then leaves, shutting the door behind him softly.

Lying down once more I wrap my arms around Blue. “Please, wake up. I’m so scared you’re not going to wake up.” I whisper softly.

When he doesn’t respond I begin to cry softly.

My heart hurt with worry.

I couldn’t lose him like I had lost Gage.

“Please, wake up, Blue.” I whimper softly. “I love you.”

As soon as those words were out of my mouth I wanted to repeat them over and over again, hell I wanted to shout them from the highest mountain peak.

I loved Blue.

My heart was unconditionally his.

Beneath my arms Blue’s body moves and then begins changing back into his human form.

Tears pour from my eyes as he turns to face me.

His hand comes up to wipe away my tears before he presses his lips against mine. “I love you too, Parker. I don’t know how it happened so fast but I love you too.”

Leaning back I touch his neck gently as I study the healing wounds left on it.

“I’ll be alright, Sweetheart.” He promises.

“You scared me.” I confess.

“I know I did and I’m sorry about that, but it all worked out. I won and I’m here with you now.” He soothes me while his hand cups my cheek tenderly.

“That’s all that matters.” I smile.

He nods and grins. “Yes, and now we can be together forever.”

My heart soars at the thought of forever with him.

“I want to do the mating ritual now.” I blurt suddenly.

Blue’s eyes go wide for a moment before a smirk crosses his lips. “Right now, are you sure?”

I nod and pull his lips to mine before he could ask any more questions. I wanted this now before we had to wait another moment.

My one biggest regrets was waiting with Gage and I wasn’t about to make that mistake again.

There wasn’t going to be another moment where I didn’t belong to him.

He pulls back for just a moment to search my eyes. “Are you certain that I’m who you want to be with?” He questions.

“There is no doubt in my mind, Blue. You’re it for me.” I answer him wholeheartedly.

“I’m not…” He begins but I stop his words by placing my finger over his lips.

“I know you’re not him. You’re so much more.” I state truthfully.

He was so much more than Gage. It wasn’t that I didn’t love Gage because I had, he had stolen my heart, but there was just something more to my connection with Blue.

It was different, exciting even.

Without another word said between us we begin stripping each other out of our clothing piece by piece.

Every kiss that Blue planted on my body lit me on fire.

By the time he tossed my last piece of clothing to the floor I was certain that my body would just burst into flames.

It was so much better than anything I had previously experienced.

“Do you know the words you have to say?” I pant out as Blue lays me on the bed under him.

He nods while wearing a mischievous smirk. “Titus taught me the words. He knew we wouldn’t wait until the ritual.”

I giggle for a moment until Blue moves in one swift jerk.

I gasp as my world suddenly becomes complete.

We were now as one.

My mind and body are quickly plunged into a pool of bliss.

I barely even register the words coming from Blue’s mouth until a wave of electricity flows through our bodies.

All of the sudden his thoughts invade my mind.

Everything floods in all at one as I look up into his deep green eyes.

Once it calms down to a trickle Blue begins moving, cementing our bond forever.

I
s it always going to be like that?” Blue sighs as he lies back on the bed beside me.

The early morning sun was just beginning to lighten my room.

“I don’t know, but I hope it doesn’t change.” I reply happily.

Blue chuckles and then sighs roughly as he rolls onto his side to face me. “We need to sleep a little before we have to face the others.”

I nod in agreement and he tugs my body against his before he wraps his arms around me.

Sighing softly I close my eyes. “I love you, Blue.”

“I love you too, Parker.” He replies.

All was right in my world now.

I was in the arms of someone I absolutely loved without a doubt again.

The ache of Gage’s loss was still there in my heart but it was overshadowed by the love I now held for his brother.

I knew that loss would always be there but now I had someone to keep me going.

I would no longer drown in that sorrow.

My future was bright.

24-Surprise

M
oaning softly I open my eyes against the bright sunlight filtering in through my bedroom’s window.

Blue moves behind me slightly and I close my eyes again.

Once he stops moving I open my eyes again and slip out from under his arm without waking him.

Moving quietly I stand to my feet and then make my way into my bathroom where I quickly start the water in my shower and step under it.

I groan as the warm water washes over my body.

It felt like heaven on my tired muscles.

All too soon for my taste the water runs cold forcing me leave the shower behind.

I get out and wrap a towel around myself before moving back out into my bedroom towards my dressers to find some clean clothes to wear.

Searching through my drawers I choose a worn pair of comfortable dark wash jeans and a simple black v-neck tee.

Slipping on a pair of socks I then sit on the edge of my bed careful not to disturb Blue as I slip on my boots and tie the laces.

As soon as I’m done I get up and walk over to the door, opening it quietly.

Right as I take a step out I bump into Rowan.

He smirks as he glances over my shoulder and then back to me. “And here I was worried about him last night and you two were doing the dirty.” He teases quietly.

“Shut it, Rowan.” I laugh as I shut the door.

“Did you two…” He trails off.

I knew what he was talking about so I nod. “Yes.”

Right there he kneels down in front of me and tilts his head to the side. “Then I pled my loyalty to you, my alpha.”

He then stands to his feet when I nod my head.

“Don’t tell anyone else yet. We were supposed to wait until the mating ceremony.” I order.

“I won’t tell a soul, my lips are sealed.” He replies as he mimics zipping his lips shut and then throwing away an invisible key over his shoulder.

“Thank you, Rowan.” I reply as I hug him.

Stepping back he nods once before walking down the hallway and disappearing into another room.

Smiling I turn and walk down the stairs and then towards the kitchen for something to eat.

Harley, Dillon, and Damon look up as I walk in.

“How’s Blue doing?” Dillon asks.

I shrug and move to search the refrigerator for something quick to eat. “He’s better. His wounds have healed and he changed back into his human form not long after you left.”

“Is he going to be coming down for something to eat?” Harley questions with a raised brow.

She had to be reading between the lines.

Harley was going to catch on to what happened just like Rowan had except she didn’t have to see Blue in my bed to make those assumptions.

“He’s still resting but I’m sure he’ll wake up soon.” I reply and hide my face from her view.

“You dirty girl.”
Harley whispers into my mind.
“You’ve already slept with him.”

I turn to give her my best glare.

It only causes her to laugh out loudly confusing Damon and Dillon.

“Don’t tell them yet.”
I order quickly before she could give my secret away.

Quieting down quickly she gives me a single nod in agreement.

Damon points to her and then to me while scrunching his face. “There’s something we’re missing, isn’t there?”

“It’s nothing you need to worry about right now, Damon.” I sigh. “Just trust me, okay.”

Giving up my search for something in the fridge to eat I shut the door and pinch the bridge of my nose as my stomach growls loudly.

Dillon clears his throat abruptly and I look up as he holds out a bag of beef jerky.

“Thank you.” I state gratefully as I take the bag from his hands and begin eating.

“Parker, can I see you in my office?” My dad requests as he peeks into the kitchen and then disappears once again.

I sigh and follow after him.

Once I arrive in his office I shut the door and then sit down in a chair across from him as I resume eating my jerky.

Dad raises his brow for a moment and I reach into the bag before holding out a piece for him to take.

He snorts with amusement before taking it and eating it.

“How’s Blue?” He asks between bites.

“His wounds are healed and he changed back into his human form late last night.” I answer simply.

“And I take it you two…” He trails off as he motions around absently.

“Yes, we did.” I sigh roughly.

I wait for him to give me a disapproving look or something to that extent but he only nods with a slight grin playing upon his lips.

“Did you still want a ceremony?” He asks next.

“If you don’t mind I would like to have one.” I reply softly.

“We could do that or have something a little more human if you’d prefer.” He smirks.

My eyes widen for a moment. “Would you really let me have a wedding?”

He nods his head and I nearly jump out of my seat with joy.

I couldn’t believe he was actually going to give me permission to have an actual wedding. Our kind never did anything like that.

“I figured it would be a little more suiting considering most of your pack was human at one time. That and I know how much you like to associate yourself with the humans and their traditions.” My father explains gently.

“It’s what your mother would have wanted for you too.” He adds softly.

I squeal with excitement as I stand up.

I couldn’t contain my joy any longer.

“You can plan for whatever you want, Parker. Don’t worry about the cost I just want you to have your perfect day.” Dad adds as he stands to his feet.

I nearly plow into him before wrapping my arms around him. “You’re the best, Dad.”

“You’re welcome, Daughter.” Dad replies as he hugs me back before stepping back away from me. “Now, go get your plans ready. I need to speak with Titus about what we will do with the Draco wolf.”

I nod and then leave his office.

Before I can even think I rush into the kitchen where Harley and the others were still hanging out.

“My dad is letting me have an actual wedding.” I squeal suddenly.

Harley jumps up from her seat and dances around with me as we both squeal with joy.

“Oh my god, we’ve got so much to plan.” Harley stops abruptly.

I nod. “I know but we don’t have any kind of spending limit. Dad said that I could do whatever I wanted.”

“Is he nuts?” Damon blurts.

I snort and shake my head. “I’m sure he has more than enough money to cover any damage we might cause.”

“I’m going to go call Ariel and let her know what’s going on so she can get over here with us after school lets out.” Harley states before running out of the kitchen.

“I should go check on Blue.” I motion towards the doorway.

Damon and Dillon nod and then turn back to their plates of food.

Without another word I run through the house and up the stairs to my room.

I stop at the door.

It was cracked slightly and Blue was talking to someone inside.

Against my better judgment I lean in to listen to the conversation going on the other side of the door.

“Did you make sure to make her yours last night?” Titus questions.

“Yes, I did. She’s mine and I dare anyone to try and take her away from me.” Blue replies with a low growl.

“Good, now all we have to do is get the two of you back home where you’ll both be safe.” Titus sighs roughly.

“Aren’t we safe here?” Blue asks.

“No, you’re not with the Hunters so close. What happened to you has them on edge and I doubt they are going to keep their arrangements with Rixon.” Titus explains. “As we speak the Hunters have been gathering more and more at the hotel.”

“They wouldn’t attack this pack. When I was there with them they warned us how powerful this pack was.” Blue replies confidently.

Stepping into the room all eyes turn to me. “They won’t attack the pack, Blue. They will come for me. I broke their rules too many times.”

“But you saved me, you saved Harley and Damon.” Blue argues.

“They don’t see it that way. They see it as me only changing you three into monsters.” I reply softly.

“We can make them see that we aren’t monsters.” Blue growls out.

I step up to him and touch his cheek gently as I look into his eyes. “We are monsters, Blue. We are wolves and we kill. We aren’t the friendly dogs that you want us to be.”

Sighing softly I bow my head. “When I stayed with the Hunters before it took every ounce of power I had not to want to kill them. It’s something that’s instilled in us to want to destroy the Hunters.”

“I wanted to kill you when I first met you.” I add softly. “The only reason I didn’t was because I had already fallen for you.”

Blue glances over my shoulder to his father for confirmation.

“She’s right, Blue. We’re made to kill them and they are made to kill us. We have never been friends.” Titus grunts.

“So, what, are we going to have to hide for the rest of our lives?” Blues questions me as he lifts my chin up.

“Only until the ones that I’ve wronged eventually die.” I reply honestly.

“I don’t want to have to hide at all.” Blue sighs roughly as he steps back and the turns away from me.

“This is our world now, Blue. There is no turning back.” I whisper.

He keeps his back turned to me for a long moment before turning back to face me. “It’s worth it as long as I have you.”

“We’ll be safe with your father’s pack.” I reply. “Nothing bad will happen to us and time will fly by before you know it and someday we will be safe to return here again.”

Blue nods and then steps closer as his hands reach for my hips.

He grins down at me. “So, what was it that had you so excited downstairs?” He asks changing the subject.

I bounce on my feet as I once again get excited. “My father is going to allow me to have a real wedding instead of having the mating ceremony.”

“Seriously, he’s going to let us do that?” Blue replies.

I nod. “Yes, he’s letting me do whatever I want.”

“That’s great, Sweetheart.” Blue replies before pulling me close for a long passionate kiss.

“I’ll give you two some more time alone.” Titus grunts awkwardly before leaving my room.

The door shuts and Blue picks me up before wrapping my legs around his waist. “I thought he’d never leave.” He chuckles as he carries me into the bathroom and then sits me down on the edge of the sink.

As he steps away from me to turn on the water for a bath I sigh softly. “What kind of wedding would you like?”

Glancing back at me he smiles. “I’ve always wanted a sort of rustic wedding to be honest. I went to a wedding once that had all kinds of rustic themed things. From then on when I pictured myself getting married that’s what always came to mind.”

“You’ve really thought about that, huh.” I tease.

He chuckles. “Do with it what you will but that’s pretty much the only input I’ll be worth.”

“I think I’ll use your idea. I never let myself think about what kind of wedding I wanted since it’s not something my pack does.” I reply.

Moving over towards me again, Blue smiles brightly. “I will love it no matter what you decide to do.”

Kissing me softly he begins tugging at my shirt to pull it over my head.

After it’s off he picks me up and then stands me on my feet so he could strip me of my jeans as well.

“Take a bath with me.” He whispers between more kisses.

I nod and he quickly strips himself and the rest of my clothing off before picking me up and moving us into the bathtub.

Thankfully the tub was large enough for the both of us to fit in comfortably.
