CS to OC. Britain, 23 April 1926, in MTUCDA P69/44 (183). In this discussion of the general strike of 1926 Moss Twomey, rather than Andy Cooney, is credited as being the author of letters signed ‘chief of staff'. Based on evidence discussed in Chapter 2 it seems likely that Twomey took over the role of chief of staff in April 1926.
