‘Not at all, the woman intrigues me that’s
all, you know how I enjoy a challenge,’ he grins at his friend.

‘Don’t hurt her Cam, she seems like one of
the good ones.’ Simon insists.

Cameron frowns at his friend, ‘since when
do you care about who I sleep with?’

‘She’s a friend of Susie’s, I can do
without the ear ache,’ his friend reminds him gently.

‘And you aren’t going to sleep with her,’
calls Susie from the kitchen, ‘or you can cook your own roast on a Sunday!’

Cameron remains pensive on the ride home,
why is everyone so concerned about Lucy?  I wish I hadn’t met Sam now and just
met Lucy for the first time at the golf bash. I would have taken her home and
lost myself in her body – she would have been a willing participant, of that I
am certain, she is as attracted to me as I am her then she would have been out
of my system.

It is so not worth the hassle!

Susie and I enter into Benny’s, where
Maddie and some of the Womenswear gang are grouped by the bar.

‘Hi girls,’ Matthew calls, ‘what can I get
you?’

‘That’s kind of you Matt, what do you fancy
Luce?’ Susie checks.

‘Oh, I can get mine thank you,’ I smile at
Matthew, who is the head buyer in the Womenswear team.  We have not been
formerly introduced but I have noticed him around the office.  He is blonde,
clean shaven with twinkly blue eyes.

‘I insist,’ he smiles.

‘Thank you,’ I relent, ‘a glass of
Sauvignon Blanc, please,’ I smile my thanks.

‘No problem,’ his eyes assess me gently.

‘Someone has a fan,’ Susie whispers to me.

Matthew hands me my drink and I take it
with a, ‘thank you Matthew, cheers.’

‘Cheers,’ he smiles, before handing Susie
hers.

‘How are you enjoying, Wadworths?’ he
probes, returning to Susie and me.

‘Yes, very much so,’ I nod, ‘it has a great
group of people.’

‘Yes it does,’ he agrees.  He is charming
and I like him, Matthew is a kind soul, no pretense just a good guy.  I spend a
considerable amount of time relaxed and chatting to Matthew before excusing
myself and joining Maddie and Susie, who are now seated on a nearby table.

Susie grins, ‘he is a genuinely, lovely guy
Lucy.’

‘Where did you slope off to?’ I accuse,
mildly.

‘I thought I would give you some sp…..oh,
no.’ I glance up and into the direction of Susie’s gaze to find Simon and
Cameron seated at the bar, lifting their glasses to Susie.  ‘I knew he wouldn’t
leave it be,’ Susie mumbles.

My heart flips and I feel my insides churn
at the realization that Cameron is in the bar.  My eyes search his and he
smiles gently my way.  Susie stands, ‘excuse me ladies,’ she mutters before she
makes her way to the bar, where her boyfriend is seated.

‘Who is that?’ Maddie enquires.

‘That is Simon,’ I inform her, sitting up a
bit straighter as I take a mouthful of wine.

‘Yes, I have met Simon, I mean the
delicious creature with him,’ she whispers over to me.

‘That Maddie, is Cameron.’ I state.

‘If I wasn’t married, I would get me some
of that Cameron,’ she murmurs, seriously.

‘Maddie!’ I call over and she giggles.

‘Lucy!’ Cameron calls in greeting from
above me.

I stand, feeling as if I am a distinct
advantage being seated, ‘Cameron,’ I murmur breathlessly, my face flushing.

‘Good to see you,’ he bends and kisses my
cheek softly, sending delicious tingles down to my groin.

‘And you,’ my hand smoothes down my short
black skirt, I suddenly remember Maddie, ‘this is Maddie, Maddie this is Cameron
who is a friend of Simon and Susie’s.’ Cameron shakes hands with Maddie
treating her to a sexy smile.

‘A pleasure,’ Maddie breathes and I smile
spontaneously.

‘The pleasure is all mine,’ Cameron’s eyes
move to my smile, ‘can I get you ladies a drink?’

‘Thank you Cameron, Bacardi and Coke please,’
Maddie is spellbound.

‘Lucy?’ he questions.

‘Erm…’

‘Of course you do, what are you drinking
wine?’ he presses.

‘Ok, thank you.’

‘Come with me,’ he demands gently and I
glance at Maddie whose eyes are urging me to comply.

‘Won’t be a moment,’ I promise her and
follow Cameron to the bar area.

He orders the drinks before turning to me,
‘well, well, well, Lucy fancy meeting you here!’

I tilt my head regarding his handsome face
for a moment, ‘come now Cameron, I am sure that Susie has mentioned we spend
most Friday evenings here?’

‘Can’t say I remember,’ he teases, he is in
charming mode.

I glance over at Susie who is obviously
scolding Simon, ‘oh dear, trouble in paradise.  My guess is this is your doing.’
I tease.

He follows my gaze and grins, ‘she loves
him, she will forgive him anything,’ his eyes move over my attire.  ‘I am
liking the skirt and stockings Lucy.’

‘Stop flirting Cameron, it is never going
to happen,’ I scold, although I pull at my skirt to ensure it hasn’t shifted up
over my stocking tops and his eyes spark with amusement at my action.

‘Oh ye of little faith,’ he shakes his head,
‘I guarantee, it will happen Lucy.’

Chapter Five

We are seated back at the table with Maddie,
who keeps insisting she must go after the next drink despite accepting another
from Simon or Cameron.  Susie had sat adjacent to me preventing Cameron from
sitting beside me, throwing him a look that dare him to complain.

We girls have consumed a substantial amount
of alcohol and there is a considerable amount of giggling going on, most of our
other work colleagues have disappeared home leaving a few stragglers.

On my way back from the bathroom Matthew is
just leaving, ‘it was lovely to meet you, Lucy,’ he smiles.

‘Yes, you too Matthew and thank you for the
drink.’ I smile back.

‘Maybe we can do it again sometime,’ he
glances towards the table where Susie and Maddie are seated with Simon and
Cameron.

‘That would be lovely. Goodnight.’ I turn
and walk to the table, feeling Cameron’s eyes on me but refusing to meet them.

‘I must go,’ Maddie calls, ‘no really this
time, I have to get home to the kids,’ she stands collecting her belongings and
the men stand with her.

‘Can I get you a cab, Maddie?’ Cameron
enquires.

‘No, it is easier on the tube honestly,’
she waves him away before throwing her arms around us all, ‘thank you for a
lovely evening guys,’ and exits the pub.

As I sit back down, I cross my legs and
notice Cameron observing me from opposite, his eyes darken as they move over my
legs.  I feel a rush of power as I smile suggestively towards him and his face
hardens not with anger but with something else.

‘We should probably be making a move,’ Susie
calls to Simon, ‘you owe me a foot rub.’

‘Ok, wench, let’s go, Cam?’ Simon calls.

‘No, I am fine,’ his eyes remain on me and
I feel anticipation rush through my body.

‘Cam!’ Susie warns and he glances towards
her.

‘Seriously, Suze, Lucy is a big girl she is
quite capable of looking out for herself,’ he scolds Susie.  Simon pulls her hand
and sends a message through his face and she relents.

‘Ok guys, we are off,’ she calls. I stand
and hug her and Cameron bends and kisses her cheek winking at her.

‘Lucy, good to see you again,’ Simon smiles
as he kisses my cheek.

‘And you Simon,’ I smile.

When they leave, I sit back down and
re-cross my legs.  Cameron remains opposite me.

‘So…..’ he murmurs.

‘So…..’ I flush, not feeling so courageous
now we are alone, ‘why are you seated all the way over there?’ I enquire.

‘Because the view is delicious and I would
rather I see it than the guy behind me,’ I frown before I realize he probably
has a bird’s eye view of my thighs and flush. ‘Oh no, you don’t get to become
all coy now after you have enjoyed teasing me for the past hour,’ he mutters, I
remain silent not trusting myself to speak.

‘Quite in demand Lucy, aren’t you?’

‘No, why do you say that?’  I realize he is
referring to Matthew.

‘Do you want to grab something to eat?’ he
offers, ignoring my question.

I am hungry and my head is muzzy from all the
alcohol, ‘why not,’ I murmur, ‘but just for the record, I am not going to sleep
with you.’

‘Come on,’ he ignores me and I pick up my
jacket following him out of the pub.

He helps me on with my jacket outside, his
hands moving over my shoulders before he releases me.

‘Thank you,’ I whisper.

‘You are welcome,’ he whispers into my ear
and I can hardly breathe.

We move around to a car park, ‘did you
drive?’ I ask.

‘Yes, I only had one drink,’ his hand is
resting on the base of my spine as he guides me to a Charcoal colored BMW and
opens the passenger door

‘Hmmm, into the lion’s den,’ I mutter and
hear him chuckle.

The car is immaculate and smells of that
new car scent they have now invented into an air freshener.

‘Where are we going?’ I enquire, adrenaline
flying through my veins.

‘Somewhere, where we can relax and have a
quiet bite to eat,’ he informs me.

I glance at the clock it is only nine o
clock but feels later as we have been out drinking since five thirty.  I relax
into the heated seat aware that my skirt has hitched up slightly, the tops of
my stockings almost on view, due to the low slung seats.  I tug gently, without
success before giving up.

‘Leave it,’ he instructs quietly and I do,
my body tingling in response.

I notice his glance move over my legs as we
stop at traffic lights and begin to enjoy myself.

‘That’s better,’ he grumbles after some
time, ‘you have started to relax.’

We leave the busy city and move onto roads that
house residential homes before pulling into a drive.

‘Where are we?’ I glance around the
surrounding area searching for a restaurant.

‘At my house, I am going to cook for you,’
he departs the vehicle leaving me open mouthed in the passenger seat.  He opens
my door and gestures for me to exit the car, ‘are you getting out?’ he asks.

‘Cameron,’ I warn, ‘I don’t think this is a
good idea, do you?’

‘Absolutely I do, what, you don’t trust
yourself?’ his eyebrow arches and I attempt to climb out of the car without
flashing my underwear.  I watched this on a program once, you are supposed to
keep your knees together and move them simultaneously over the doorway and
stand in one swift motion.

I manage to move them together over the
doorway where, as soon as I move forward, the skirt rises up, my stocking tops
in full view plus the v of my lace pants, ‘shit’ I curse, as I move as fast as
possible to stand.

He holds his hands out for me to grasp as
his lips twitch, ‘Lucy!’ he mutters bringing me up in front of him, ‘give a guy
a chance here,’ he is extremely amused, as I am mortified  yanking at the
bottom of my skirt.

‘Sorry,’ I mutter.

‘Hey, don’t ever be sorry for that
delightful view,’ he chuckles.

We enter into his house, it is beautiful, a
grand Edwardian, terraced house that has three floors.

‘Do you live in the entire house?’ I question.

‘Yes,’ he murmurs quietly as I follow him
into the kitchen area, which is open planned into the back of the house where
there is a dining room overlooking the garden.

‘This is stunning,’ I mumble, feeling
uncomfortable around all this wealth.  We are in an expensive part of Chelsea I
had noticed as we drove through London.

‘Thank you,’ he opens the fridge and
extracts a bottle of wine and some ingredients.  ‘Are you vegetarian or
anything?’

‘No, I don’t eat red meat though.  Listen a
sandwich would be fine,’ I suddenly feel cold sober and aware that I really
have walked into the lion’s den.

His eyes move to mine as if he senses my
unease and he shuts the fridge door wandering over towards me slowly, ‘relax Lucy,
nothing is going to happen here, that you don’t want to ok?’

‘Ok,’ I nod my eyes fixed on his.  He
grasps my chin and moves towards me his lips finding mine, I breathe in his
scent as our lips move gently at first before they become more urgent.  His
hand clenches my hip bringing me towards his body.  My hand finds his hair and
pulls him into me as our tongues tangle, our breathing becoming heavy.

Once again it is Cameron who slows the kiss
until our foreheads are touching and we are regaining our regular breathing
rhythm.
