They spent the night in a private room where
he flogged her. It felt like old times with Liam, comfortable old
times. Then she remembered a time when she was contented with
Jonathan. She sighed. “What the fuck did I do?”

Taking a shower helped her wake up even more
than the sunlight had. On the way to the kitchen to make coffee,
she grabbed her cell phone. It displayed a missed call from Kristy,
and two text messages; one from Liam asking her what time to pick
her up later in the evening, and one from Jonathan asking if they
were over completely.

When she read Jonathan’s text, her feet
stopped. She couldn’t move. Were they done? Slumping down in the
nearest chair she thought it over. Being with her ex-Master last
night was an eye opener. She and Jonathan sucked as lovers, they
sucked in the D/s dynamic, and their friendship wasn’t that great
anymore unless one of the other two scenarios took place, and even
then they didn’t work out. With those thoughts in mind, she knew
they could never be. It pained her, because she’d always love him
deep down inside, but she typed a reply saying,
Yes, I think it
best if we’re done in every way. Don’t contact me again. We’re
over. For good.

Her finger hovered over the send button as
tears trickled down her face. Taking a deep breath she pressed the
pad of her finger against the glass of her smart phone, and sent
the message. “Goodbye, Jonathan,” she whispered. Staring at her
phone for what felt like an eternity, no response came, and the
tears flowed freely.

Forcing herself from the chair long minutes
later, she went to the kitchen and stared at the coffee pot.
Deciding against it, she went to the couch and pulled the blanket
Jonathan had used around her. Snuggling in deep, she inhaled his
scent, and lay her head on his pillow.

A loud knock at the door jolted her from the
couch, and she felt groggy and disoriented. “Just a minute!”
Steadying herself, she walked slowly to the door. Looking through
the peephole, she saw Liam in his usual business suit attire, his
brown cropped hair as always, looking perfect. “Shit,” she
murmured. She must have slept the whole day away. No wonder she
felt like crap.

Pulling the door open, she stepped back and
motioned for him to come in. Reaching for her hair, she knew she
looked horrid. “I’m sorry, Liam. I must have fallen asleep on the
couch. I didn’t expect to, and had no alarm set.”

Liam’s brown eyes bore into hers. Taking one
look at her face, he closed the door and pulled her against his
firm chest. “It’s okay. Tell me what’s wrong, pet.”

A small sigh left her mouth. “You know me so
well.” Backing away from him, she went to the couch. “Jonathan.
What else?” Panic struck her. “Oh, shit! Jonathan!” Jumping to her
feet, she ran to get her phone. There were several missed calls
from him and one text. She was afraid to read it.

Liam walked up behind her and gently gripped
her upper arms. “Tell me love, what’s wrong?”

“I broke off all ties with Jonathan in a
text message earlier. He responded. I’m afraid to read it.” She
shook her head and hugged her phone against her chest.

“Here, let me.” He held out a hand and she
slowly placed the phone in his open palm.

“It simply says he’ll be by this evening for
his things, and it would be best if you weren’t here, but—”

They were interrupted by a noise at the
door. Someone was fumbling with keys in the doorknob. “Fuck, it’s
him isn’t it?” she asked.

“Yes. The messages said he’d be here at six,
it’s now six. Do you want me to handle this?”

As she was about to panic, Liam tugged her
by her hair to calm her, and gain control over her. “Shhh. It’ll be
all right. I’m here with you.”

The door opened and Jonathan flinched at
their presence. “Sorry, I thought you’d be gone by now.

Chapter Thirteen

Jonathan was too busy paying attention to
the man holding Roxi that he hadn’t noticed her at all, not at
first. But when he looked at her face, he realized she’d been
crying, and she looked a mess; red eyes, cheeks flushed, and her
hair looked like she just woke up.

He’d done a fair share of crying as well. He
understood how she felt. Maybe she realized she made a mistake. Or
did something else happen? Stepping forward, he held out a hand in
her direction. “Rox, is everything okay?”

The man moved forward and walked in front of
Roxi to block him from reaching her. “She’s fine. I’m Liam, by the
way.” Liam extended his hand toward him.

Jonathan took his proffered palm and they
both shook firmly. There was a message in that shake.
Back
off
.

“I’m Jonathan. Nice to meet you.” His jaw
clenched.

“I know who you are.” Liam smiled an
unfriendly smirk in his direction, and that smile knotted
Jonathan’s stomach uncomfortably.

“Liam? It’s funny; Rox has never mentioned
you before.” He sounded cocky and he knew it.

“Hasn’t she?” Liam had a look about him that
said he knew something that Jonathan didn’t, and it wasn’t sitting
well with him.

“Enough.” Roxi stepped out from behind Liam.
“We can all be adults here. I’m going to freshen up. Jonathan,
please get your things and leave. Can I trust you two to behave?”
She stood there between the two men with her hands on her hips.

“Let me get my things from the bathroom
first.” Without waiting for a response, he took off. While he
collected his toiletry bag and filled it, he felt like he was being
watched. Peeking over his shoulder he saw Roxi leaning on the door
frame watching him.

“Where’s your
friend
?” he asked,
snidely. “Is he why we are no longer together? I hope he’s worth
it. You’re such a bitch. You had no right to do me like this.”
Upset, hurt, and pissed wasn’t a pleasant feeling.
Why on earth
I ever thought she and I had a chance at any kind of relationship
again is beyond me.

“He’s right you know.” Liam stepped out from
the darkness of the hall and stood next to Roxi protectively. “Not
the bitch part of course, but you really should’ve filled him in,
pet.”

Jonathan felt like he had just received a
blow to the gut. “Pet? So wow, you really did replace me in every
way, huh?” Anger surged through him and he started to haphazardly
throw stuff in his bag, knocking a few items to the floor. “You
know what? Fuck it! I don’t need this shit.” Tossing his bag across
the room, it hit the wall and slammed to the tiles at their feet.
He brushed past Roxi without a glance.

He started to barrel down the hall, and Liam
placed a hand on his shoulder. Jonathan’s first instinct was to
haul off and punch the guy. “Wait, please?” Liam asked. He turned
his head toward Roxi. “Pet, is he your Dom?”

She sniffed. “Up until this morning.”

Liam closed his eyes and pinched the bridge
of his nose. When he looked to her again, he tsked at her and shook
his head in disapproval. “Jonathan, had I known about you, last
night wouldn’t have happened. I would never overstep another Dom.
For that I am truly sorry, and Roxi will be dealt with accordingly,
unless she is kicking me to the curb as well.”

Roxi gripped onto Liam tightly but stood
quiet, and looked at no one. Jonathan felt a pain shoot through his
chest at her silent rejection.

Liam pointed to the bathroom. “Very well
then, go shower.” She hesitated, and he pulled her chin to his face
and said with authority, “Go shower, now, and take your time.” Roxi
obeyed him and walked to the bathroom.

Once the door closed, Liam spun on his heels
to lead Jonathan to the living room. “I’m really sorry this
happened. Honestly. I always follow protocol, and judging by your
face you don’t believe me. But had I known about you, I wouldn’t
have taken her to the club last night. She never once told me she
had a Dom, or that you two were back together. If I’d known, I
would have bowed out graciously.”

“Who are you?” Jonathan was surprised at the
knowledge this man seemed to have of him and Roxi.

“I’m someone who cares deeply for Roxi. Very
deeply, and that’s all you need to know. I will take care of her. I
promise you that. But also know that when you figure things out and
come to reclaim her, I’ll step aside if that’s what she wants, but
for now, she’s mine. So, please, gather your belongings and head
out. I’d rather you not be here when she’s done.” Liam lifted a
hand motioning toward the door.

“I don’t want any of my things. Just toss
them. I’m out of here.”

“Very well.” Liam nodded. “When you come to
your senses, search me out, and then we’ll talk. But for now,
you’re not ready.”

Jonathan wanted to hate the man, but he
couldn’t. There was something alluring about him. Liam appeared to
be good looking in a supermodel kind of way, but with an edge. His
voice sounded soothing, and he was just overall a nice guy. Being
good with first impressions, Jonathan’s gut told him not to worry
about Roxi in his care, she’d be fine. “Please just take good care
of her. I care about her. A lot.”

“As do I.” Liam gave him a curt nod. “Good
to meet you.”

Jonathan walked out with a heavy feeling in
his heart. As he exited down the stairs and through the gym, he
heard Jake calling out behind him, but he just ignored his best
friend and kept on going, right out of the door and into his empty
shell of a life.

When he could, he walked or took public
transportation, but today he drove his silver Corvette Stingray—by
all means, a sexy car. He only drove it when he needed a
pick-me-up, or to feel superior. And it was one of those days where
he needed to feel both. Once in the leather seat, he slammed his
hands on the steering wheel in anger and decided that it felt good
to hit something. He lifted his hands over and over again to work
out his anger. When he finished with his little hissy fit, he
realized it didn’t help a whole lot and his palms were sore.

He went from the gym directly to Stan’s
where he planned on hanging out for the few hours until his shift
started downstairs in the club. He didn’t want to be anywhere else.
Too many thoughts ricocheted through his head, and he’d rather not
listen to them.

When he entered Stan’s, he made a beeline
for the bar. Master Kyle greeted him and gave him a onceover. “Roxi
and I are through.”

“For now,” Kyle stated.

“For good this time.” Jonathan argued.

Kyle just smiled and handed him a tap beer
and then left him alone. Jonathan put down a few beers in a short
time and that’s when Kyle told him to go downstairs and chill out
before his first client came in, he had a training session
scheduled.

He settled in on the bed in Room Four,
laying there staring at the ceiling, feeling the effects of the
beer wash over him. It was a relief to have some of the pain
numbed.

Bianca was his first appointment for the
night, one of many who always tried to get into his pants, but he
upheld the club’s strict rules about not engaging sexually with the
clients. She liked her play rough, but she was nothing like the
subs he’d normally take home. He wanted to get through her time
quickly, and get to the session with Sarae. Frank was off for the
night, and this would be Jonathan’s first time with her. He
couldn’t wait for the beautiful submissive with no hard limits. He
knew he’d have fun with her.

A knock at the door woke him. “Who is it?”
he asked, and rubbed his eyes in an attempt to wake up.

“Bianca. May I come in?” Her brazen voice
filtered in through the door and he cringed at the sound.

“Give me a minute. Kneel at the door for me
until I am ready to receive you.” He ran his hands down his face
and inhaled a deep cleansing breath.
Why am I doing
this?

Checking himself in the mirror, he smoothed
his hands over his shirt and then tucked it in. The whites of his
eyes were a little bloodshot and his hair a little tousled, but he
knew Bianca could care less if he wasn’t presentable.

Opening the door, he saw her kneeling as
told. “Good girl, come inside.”

She rose from the floor, snuck a peek at his
face, and grinned mischievously. He didn’t hesitate and smacked her
on the ass. “Behave. Or else,” he warned.

“I’d like the ‘or else’, Sir.” She stuck out
her ass in an obvious manner and wiggled it.

Closing the door behind him and locking it,
he asked, “Would you now?” Pressing himself against her body felt
wrong, but he didn’t care. He backed her up against the nearest
wall and pulled on her hair to expose her neck. He bit her and
began kissing beneath her ear while she purred.

“Sir, what are you doing?” Her words came
out breathy.

He knew damn well it was wrong, and lifted
his head looking directly into her eyes. “What do you care, Bitch?
You’ve wanted to fuck me for years, and now’s your chance. Take off
your clothes.”

She did as told and he could tell by her
hard nipples she was more than excited. Standing at the foot of the
bed he took hold of her and kissed her deep and hard. So hard it
was almost painful, but he didn’t care. Bianca wasn’t complaining,
and she gave as good as she got.

“I’m going to fuck you and it’s going to be
fast and hard. Any objections?” he asked, as he pulled a condom
from his pocket and rolled it on his hardening shaft.

“No, but—”

“But?” He raised an eyebrow to her
unfinished question.

She pointed at him. “You still have your
clothes on.”

It was true, the only one he’d ever had sex
with naked was Roxi. All the women he screwed after she left, he
did so with his clothes on. It gave him a sense of power, and it
was less personal with minimal skin contact.

He thought about it for a moment,
Roxi is
out of my life, this time for good. I need a change. Fuck it!
“Remove my clothing, all of it.”
