“Guess I’m about to find out. And you don’t want the rest of the club to know, huh? You always were a sneaky bastard. And Lana … I’m not sure what the hell she’s been up to, but I’m guessing she pulled Morgana into it?”
Whistler drank from his beer before answering. “Not this time. This is mostly on Morgana. You had an idea shit wasn’t going good with her and Raven, right?” True nodded his head yes, wondering if he was going to be beating Raven down. His hands fisted up, thinking of anyone hurting his baby sister. “Raven started cheating on our baby sister. I guess she knew. He didn’t try to hide it. Her shifts kept changing at the prison so often, and she stopped going to club parties … so maybe she doesn’t know. I wasn’t telling her, but Lana might have. Anyway, Raven didn’t want kids. Remember the scare she had and how mad he was?”
Whistler wished he was anywhere but here, telling True all about what Morgana had done to Raven.
True got a nasty look on his face. “I trusted you to make sure everything ran smoothly, and you’re telling me that our sister, our baby sister, isn’t happy? And fucking Raven has been cheating on her?” His voice rose in volume as he became angrier.
“Morgana and Lana took care of it. I knew what they were planning and, at the time, I thought it was a good idea, but I’m not so sure now.”
“Brother, just spit it out. What the fuck did they do?”
True didn’t think either of his sisters could do much to Raven, so he chugged down his beer and waited with an almost bored look on his face. Whistler got him another and sat back down. He opened his beer and took a swallow before getting back to telling True their new development. He wished he could keep his promise to his sisters; True had a bad temper and there was no telling how he’d react.
“Yeah, well … you see, Morgana, she drugged Raven and locked him up in a cell … and she plans to keep him there for a while. She wants to pay him back for all the pain he’s caused her. Lana, she has all these head games figured out to fuck with his mind. I told ‘em I’d be telling you and they both said they won’t help the club anymore if we let him out.” He rushed the words out as fast as he could.
True spit his beer on Morgana’s clean kitchen floor and laughed his ass off. Once he was done laughing, he looked at Whistler. “You had your laugh. Now where the fuck is Raven?”
“In a cell in the basement recovering from whatever Morgana shot him up with. I’m dead serious, True. Come into her bedroom and I’ll show you. She’s got a camera hooked up to the TV. We may as well make sure he’s alive, although he
was
last night when I left.”
He got up and True slowly followed him into the bedroom, still doubtful. Whistler turned the TV on and, sure enough, there was Raven lying on the bunk with a shirt over his eyes.
True stared at the screen and looked at Whistler. “How the hell did a cell get in the basement? Is this where Raven has been doing his dirty work? In our sister’s house? Did you know about this?”
Whistler nodded, his eyes on the screen watching as Raven got up. “I think if I turn up the volume, we can hear him.”
He grabbed the remote and turned it up. Both brothers sat on the bed and watched Raven, shirtless, covered in tats, his hair still in a long braid as he screamed curses at Morgana.
“You fucking cunt!” he shouted. “When I get out of here, fucking True and that fucker Whistler won’t save your ass. I’ll cut that kid outta you and watch you bleed to death. Let me the hell out of here!” He began to pace the cell looking for a way out. He screamed again, “I’ll fucking kill your whole scumbag family and fuck Lana before I slit her throat, too!”
True looked at his younger brother. “Has he fucking lost his mind? Did you hear what he just said? I should go down there and snap his neck.” He got up and headed toward the basement door. He found it was securely locked and stood in the doorway of the bedroom looking at Raven on the screen. “Shut that damn thing off. I don’t need to hear him or look at him.”
Whistler glared at the screen before turning it off and heading back to the kitchen. As True handed him a fresh beer, he remarked, “It still is fucked up. Are we leaving him down there … or are we gonna make Morgana let him out?”
True sat there drinking his beer and wondering what hell Raven must have given his sweet sister to push her into locking her ol’ man in a cell. “We ain’t doing shit,” he decided. “Sounds to me like he deserves to be where he is. Until I can think of a plan to calm his ass down, he can stay locked up. He wants to kill all of us and cut our sisters up? Fuck Raven. He’s on his own, and nobody—not one brother—gets word of where Raven is. You got me?”
“I covered that. Work is slow, so I sent him on the road. I gotta get his bike into a storage unit. Maybe you can ride it over and I’ll follow you in my truck? Morgana asked me to move it today. It’s just around the corner.” Whistler was shocked as shit that True wasn’t mad.
True grinned. “Seems like she thought this all out, didn’t she? Yeah, I’ll ride it over. Been a fucking year since I’ve been on a bike. Let’s get the hell outta here. It creeps me out that there is a cell in the basement.”
They headed to the garage. True got Raven’s motorcycle out into the driveway and followed Whistler to the storage unit. He put Raven into the back of his mind. He wanted to get drunk, fuck, and get high—in that order. He’d let his sister have some fun with Raven before he decided what to do with him. A bullet to the head sounded like a fine way to end the fucker who wanted to kill the North family.
It had been a long day that seemed to drag on forever. Morgana had many of the guys ask her if she had seen True yet, and of course she hadn’t and wasn’t looking forward to seeing him now. On her ride home from work, she wondered what the hell she was going to tell him about Raven. True hadn’t wanted her with a biker and he loved to be proven that he was right as usual.
She pulled into the grocery store and decided to wander around and pick up food for Raven. She hit the canned food section. As she pushed her cart, she thought of all the food Raven hated. Cans of pasta and meat ravioli went into the cart. She stocked up on the cheapest TV dinners because they would be the simplest and also gave him dessert.
She headed for the meat department and grabbed some thick sirloin steaks for True and Whistler. Deciding she needed to get on a healthier diet, she picked up fresh fruit and veggies, as well as more saltines and ginger ale and some ginger tea. She got through the check out and was about to put her bags into her trunk when she heard the roar of a motorcycle come into the parking lot.
Looking up, she saw True heading for her.
Oh shit
, she thought,
here it comes.
She stopped and leaned against the car, waiting. True looked at his sister as she stood there. He didn’t like seeing Morgana look so defeated.
“Morgana, no hug for me?” He held his arms open and she ran into them, burying her face against his chest.
“I’m so glad to see you, True. I’ve got steaks to make for dinner.” Her words came out muffled against his shirt.
“Nah, I had the prime rib you made me. I just was passing through the parking lot and saw you. Whistler filled me in. That fucker needs to be put down. I don’t think it’s safe for you to be doing this. Why don’t you let us take care of it? You don’t need to do this.”
Morgana pushed him away. “I
have
to do this … for myself. I let him use me when I thought he loved me. You don’t get it. I love him still. I want to decide on my terms what happens to Raven. Promise me you’ll stay out of it and Whistler will, too.”
True looked at the new fire in her eyes and thought about how she had planned her revenge. Morgana was his go-to sister. He counted on her to be levelheaded. If she wanted a taste of revenge, could he take that away from her?
“You got a baby to think about. You sure he can’t get out?”
“True, that cell has held many men over the years. Not one of them has escaped. I’m fine, and you can come over and check it out. I’ll cook a steak dinner tomorrow night. Bring that rat Whistler too.”
She kissed his cheek and watched him load her groceries into her trunk.
He slammed the trunk and looked at her. “Well, you’re good. You might hear some of the boys around now that Raven is gone. It would be odd if they didn’t check up on you.” He winked at her and she smiled in return.
She got into her car and watched him pull away thinking True was more understanding since he’d gotten out of jail.
Finally home, Morgana looked around to make sure everything looked as it always did. She popped her trunk, grabbed a few plastic grocery bags, and headed for the front door. Her key was in her hand and she opened the door and punched her security numbers into the keypad. She made a few more trips to the car and put her food away.
It had been a long day and she was tired. After grabbing some ginger ale, she walked into her bedroom.
She turned on the camera so Raven could see her. He was staring at her, so she decided to start fucking with his head. She kicked off her shoes and pulled off her top.
Raven sat up and remained silent. His eyes were glued to her through the camera as she undressed. Her routine was to take a shower and she wasn’t changing it. Naked, she padded into the bathroom where she had no cameras and showered, getting the prison stench off of her. It felt so good to have the scent of her favorite body wash touch her skin and fill the air.
She decided she’d let Raven watch her put the coconut oil on her tummy. He used to trace the light freckles that dusted her pale skin with a finger. Wrapped in a towel, she grabbed the coconut oil and went back into the bedroom. She paid no attention to the TV screen as she lay back and poured it into her hand, then carefully rubbed it on her stomach area, covering anywhere she could get those damn stretch marks. She poured more of it on her chest and stroked it across her breasts, taking care to make sure each one glistened. She sat up and rubbed it into her legs and even her feet before getting as much as she could on her ass cheeks.
Raven’s voice made her jump. “If you let me get out of here, I could do a better job on your ass, Morgana.”
“No, thanks. I’ve got it all covered. I’m not letting you out either, Raven. You don’t get it yet, do you? You’re not getting out of
my
cell until I’m good and ready to let you out. Dinner will be down shortly.”
She turned off the camera and went over to the stack of DVDs Lana had given her. One of a woman with a whip and a sexy cat suit on the cover caught her attention. She wasn’t sure why she chose it, but the man looked in pain on the cover, so she popped it into the DVD player and smiled as she thought of Raven watching that.
She pulled on leggings and a soft worn t-shirt of Raven’s and made her way into the kitchen. She noticed the beer bottles were missing from the fridge as well as the leftover prime rib. Smiling, she remembered True had thought she made them for him. She forgot to make shrimp cocktail last night for Raven, so she made herself a quick shrimp scampi and a salad. A glass of cold lemonade completed the meal. She had some shrimp left over and for a moment she considered giving them to him, then thought he’d better get used to his new diet. Looking at the cans of pasta, she decided on meat raviolis. She opened the can and wrinkled her nose up at the smell. She dumped it on his tray, leaving them cold, then laid one shrimp next to it and a bit of her salad next to that. Two juice boxes and a bottle of cold water completed his meal. She carefully balanced it all and went down to the basement.
Laying the tray on the laundry table, she wondered if Raven was enjoying the movie. She went to the intercom and pushed in the button and told him he had dinner, but he had to eat off the tray. A chair could hold her end of it up so she could go back upstairs. She laid the water bottle down to fit through the opening, then she pushed it through and wandered upstairs. She turned the DVD player off after seeing a guy hung on some kind of cross. She shuddered, thinking if Lana saw that, she might want to try that with Raven. She watched him look at the cold pasta and pop the lone shrimp in his mouth. Raven had been in prison before, so the food shouldn’t be such a big deal. Spoiling him had been her big mistake. If Raven didn’t eat, he had fruit.
She put the camera on and watched him looking disgusted at her. She curled up on the bed and took a nap. It had been a long and tiring day.
* * *
Raven looked at the shit on the tray and laughed. He wasn’t eating that and wondered where the hell had his ol’ lady gotten such a fucked-up movie. He wondered if she was drugging his food and thinking of trying that crazy shit with him. The idea of Morgana in a cat suit and boots was hot, but whipping him? Never gonna happen.
He watched her sleeping with her hand on her baby bump and his gut churned. No, he hadn’t ever wanted kids, mainly because of the life he chose to live. Somewhere along the way, he’d lost his priorities and what he had wanted in his life with Morgana. The drugs, fast living, and the chicks willing to blow him had been tossed at him. Like a damn fool, he’d fallen into that pit and hurt the one person that had always been there and loved him unconditionally: Morgana.
