Before she let him kiss the hell out of her, she purred, “Great. You better get used to it, babe, because I see someone crying on the golf course in the very near future.”

He laughed and scooped her into his arms. She loved the sound of that, but then there was nothing but the sound of her heart pounding as he made her forget about every magic, but the kind he spun all around her when she was tucked safely in his arms.

The End

Epilogue

Life was good. Maggie and Jaxx’s relationship was on the mend and Maggie had a new boyfriend‌—‌Q—and a new project‌—‌the Viking‌—‌which meant she wasn’t interfering in their lives very much. The complex was almost completed, and Jaxx was back at school to get a specialty degree in Geriatrics like she always wanted to do. Once she was done with that, she was going to open up a practice of her own at the Jack Taylor Clinic and Aries couldn’t have been happier about that.

Things with Gabe were better than he’d ever imagined. They were working on another real estate deal together, and Aries had even stepped in to help with the company now that Jaxx had set Gabe up with a woman. Aries never knew how alike he and his brother were when it came to women until his brother got shitfaced one night on a guy’s night out. Aries, being the sober one out of the two them, heard a lot of interesting stories about women in his brother’s life, but Gabe and Lisa Monroe’s first meeting topped them all. He still wasn’t sure he believed it. It kind of reminded him of one of those jokes. There was a nun, an elevator and a vibrator… Damn, if that really happened, Gabe was going to hell. No doubt about it.

Aries stopped the cart and took a deep breath. Two minutes later he was standing at the first tee, secretly stressing over being whipped at golf by his gorgeous wife. He was very competitive, and golf was his game. But he was prepared to take it like a man.

“I like your clubs,” he told her. “They look new.” They were top-of-the-line ladies Ping’s with a custom putter and a driver that looked like something engineers at NASA had constructed. “Did you bring enough balls?”

She turned and gave him a saucy look. The sun shined beautifully against the tri-colored metal around her neck. “Did you?”

“Jaxx.”

She sauntered over to the blue markers and bent to push in her tee. Was she shooting from the blues instead of the whites? Holy fuck, he was screwed if that were the case. He needed to calm down. Take another breath. There wasn’t a chance she could out-drive him. No way. “You’re going to drive off the blues?”

“Blues? I’m not upset. I’m feeling good, actually. And I brought a ball. They’re pretty expensive.”

Okay, well, this he had to see. One ball? If she managed to play with only… “If you play the whole game with one ball I’ll get on my knees and bury my face between your legs on the eighteenth until you come all over me.”

She picked up her driver and held it straight out, pointing it at him. “That’s a deal.” Slowly lowering it, she winked. “And if I don’t win, I get to suck you off at the eighteenth until you see stars, okay?”

He nodded. Thinking this arrangement could work out better than he’d been anticipating. “I think I’ve just found myself a new golf buddy. Okay, proceed. Let’s see what I’m up against.”

“Alrighty.”

He wasn’t paying much attention to the way she addressed the ball because she had the cutest little ass wiggle as she got set, and he was mesmerized by it. He thought he heard her whisper, “Here goes nothing,” but that couldn’t be right.

She swung and then rushed forward a couple of paces with her hand cupped over her eyes. “Oh, I forgot my glasses. I can’t see. Where did it land? Ohhh! Is that it?”

She frantically pointed, no doubt fixating on the white rim of the cup because it definitely wasn’t her ball.

Furiously she scanned the distance, “Where is it?”

“Right where I want to be.”

She jerked to attention and squealed. “It’s on the green?”

“No. It’s between your legs.”

Priceless was the only way to describe her, when her head snapped down. “What? Wait, how did that happen?”

“We golfers call it a whiff. You probably know it better as a swing and a miss.”

She titled her head to look at him. “No.”

Okay, he couldn’t contain himself. All this time she’d lied and strung him along exploiting another one of weaknesses. He shook his head and laughed. “You have absolutely no idea how to play golf, do you?”

Her grin was so wide her dimples appeared as she spun around to face him. “No, but I do like to drive the cart, though.”

“Yeah, well, it will be hard for you to drive anything when you can’t sit down. You are so getting a spanking for this one.”

“Great.” She dropped her club in her bag and came right over to him. He thought she was going to try to talk him out of the spanking and he was prepared to deny her, but then she walked her fingers up his chest, stopping at his collarbone, and said, “Since it’s a foregone conclusion that I’ve already lost, would you like to see those stars now?”

“Nothing would please me more. But we can’t hold up other golfers. Even if we could be discreet. And we’d have to be discreet because I don’t want to lose my membership.”

“Men.” She snorted. “Where are your magical balls now? Don’t worry. There won’t be anyone else on the course this morning.”

His adrenaline spiked. It’d be great if she were right. “How do you know that?”

She popped her brows. “We own all the tee times until noon.”

He gave a low whistle and said, “That must have cost a pretty penny.”

“Yeah, but you can afford it.”

She was sliding south when it occurred to him. “Jaxx, did I buy all that fancy equipment for you that you don’t know how to use too?”

“Yeah.”

He was going to argue, maybe tack on another spanking, but then just as she promised, he saw stars. And they were the brightest kind that had him totally speechless.

His only thought when he groaned and sank his hands in her hair was the magical vagina had fucking scored another one.

Damn…
