Lost In Our Darkness (Demons Of Darkness Book 2) (15 page)

“Fuck you Trix, you don’t know shit.”

“I do and that’s what pisses you off.”

He stood up facing me. I jumped up and stood my ground. “What, you want to hit me Venom? Then do it. Would it make you feel better? I can tell you one thing. It won’t bring her back.”

“I knew the whole time about you losing the baby Trix. I know everything. I may be pissed about Cass but what I’m really fucking pissed about is you leaving Nix the way you did. That shouldn’t have happened. You ran off and lived in some shithole apartment with Zaiden when he should have been here. It wasn’t just Nix counting on you Trix it was all of us. You were one of us. And now I’m not completely convinced you ever will be again. But that’s not my call, and I don’t trust you. Not one fucking bit,” he spit.

He sat back down facing Nix. I looked around the room. Is that what the problem is—

they don’t trust me? Everyone’s eyes were on me except Payne. He was standing in front of Nitro as if he had been holding him back. Nix just sat at his desk as if none of it was fazing him. Fucking asshole. “Did I not just prove to you guys that I am trustworthy? Did I not just fucking put bullet holes in some fucking assholes for you?”

“I trust you.” Nix grinned. A grin that made me want to jump over his desk and ride him but there were people in the room and, well, we still had the issue of him being married.

“So now that Venom admitted it, is there anyone else who has a problem trusting Trix?” I asked as I looked around the room pulling a cigarette out and tossing one to Trix. She caught it in her lap and brought it to her lips and looked at me like
now what
? I lit mine and tossed my lighter to her as I stood.

“If there is a problem with trust then maybe we should bring her with us on this run. Give everyone a chance to trust her again,” Red spoke up.

“I think that is a fucking great idea.” Venom laughed.

“Ahhh and what am I supposed to do with my son?” Trix glared at Red.

“Nitro you’re staying back, think you will have any problems keeping an eye on my son?” I asked as I let out a cloud of smoke. I couldn’t let them know I didn’t want Trix to come on the run with us. I never took her on runs to Angelo’s. I didn’t want him to know her face.

“Shouldn’t be a problem. Between Cheyenne and me, we shouldn’t have a problem keeping him safe.”

“Speaking of Cheyenne, got anything you want to share with the rest of us? You two have been getting kinda cozy, yeah?”

“Not much to say, she likes to spend time on my dick.” He laughed.

“Oh come the fuck on, Nitro, admit it—you like more than her pussy. Just lay claim to her already would ya.” Trix laughed.

“Well when you ask so fucking nicely Trix, I will admit I do like spending time with her, just don’t know how she feels and I’m not going to throw claim to her unless she wants that.”

“Then ask her already old man. Make her yours before someone else does and you lose your little piece of ass. You’re not getting any younger and pretty soon not even Alex and Angel will spread their legs for you and they will fuck anything.” Trix laughed as she glared at Payne who was staring right back at her.

“Fine I’ll talk to her while you guys are gone.”

“Are we all in agreement now? Trix will come on this run with us and when we get back, if any of you still have your doubts we will discuss it then.”

I looked around, everyone nodding in agreement.

“Anything else anyone has to say?” Everyone was quiet.

“Then this meeting is over. We ride out tomorrow at eight. Don’t be late and don’t make me wait. Trix go get Zaiden and I’ll take you home.” I let everyone leave the room. Venom was last to leave. He smirked at me as he walked out the door. Something was going one with him. Then I remembered what I heard him say to Trix. That he knew where she was. Maybe I misheard him. He wouldn’t have kept that to himself would he?

“Venom wait.”

He paused at the door.

“Shut the door, I want to talk to you.”

He shut the door and walked back until he was standing in front of me.

“Tell me that I misheard you.”

“When?”

“When you said you knew where she was,” I growled.

“I did know. Not right away. I swear Nix I didn’t know where she was until it was too late.”

“It wouldn’t have been too late Venom. Too late was when she walked through the front door of this clubhouse and even then I’m not entirely sure it was too late.”

Chapter Twenty One

I walked out of Nix’s Office and went and found Zaiden. Cheyenne had him sitting at the bar as she talked to Alex and Angel. I walked over to them and took a giggling Zaiden from her arms.

“Hey Trix. How’s it feel to be back?” Alex gave me a fake smile. “Come back to stir up more shit. That’s what you do, right. Everything was quiet around here, then you come back and  well, not so quiet anymore.” She shrugged.

“I have nothing to say to you Alex.”

“Whatever, the black-hearted bitch comes back and now there is trouble on the horizon.”

I handed Zaiden back to Cheyenne. “Take him back to Nitro’s room. He doesn’t need to see what I’m about to do.”

“Why, Trix, you think that kid isn’t going to be messed up? He’s your kid, that right there is enough to make him messed up.”

“Alex. what is your problem. If I remember correctly we used to be, you know, somewhat friends.”

“We were never friends. We are in different circles Trix. Always will be.”

“Ahhhh so that’s your problem. You’re mad because I’m not a club whore like you. Is that it?”

“Fuck you Trix.”

“So it is, huh. Well tell me, what’s it like to be second best, because that’s really why you’re mad, huh. None of the guys wants to make you their old lady. You went after Nix, and if I saw correctly a little bit ago you just had a little go with Payne. So tell me how it feels to get my sloppy seconds.”

“You think you’re so much better than us. But you’re not. And they came to me because you couldn’t keep them satisfied.”

I laughed. She was asking for it and the way my day was going she was about to get all of my anger. I moved so that I was an inch away from her, staring into her eyes. “You have anything else to say?”

“You are nothing but a fucking cunt and if it wasn’t for that bastard son of you—”

I didn’t let her finish her sentence. My right hand balled into a fist. I swung and hit her in her jaw. I saw black. The next thing I knew I was being pulled off of her. I blinked a few times clearing my vision as I tried to push out of the pair of arms holding me back. I finally gave up when the arms became tighter.

“What the fuck is going on here?”

I turned to see Nix stomping over to where I was standing. He looked down to where Alex was being lifted off the floor, blood dripping from her face. Her left eye was swollen shut. “Fucking bitch,” she slurred.

“Get her out of here.” He turned to deal with Alex. Fucking asshole. I gave up my fight as I was picked up off the floor and moving towards the bedrooms. When I was placed on the bed I finally took in who had pulled me off of her. Payne.

“Trix. Was that about what you saw this morning? You know how this life works. If you’re getting mad about me and her...”

I laughed. “It wasn’t about you Payne. Yeah you and I we had some fun together but that’s all it was. It was about something a little more personal that has nothing to do with you. Alex is an attention whore. She wants whatever I have or had. She’s always been that way and personally I don’t give a fuck, but the second she mentioned my son that was it.” I stood up and pushed past him.

“Trix wait.”

I ignored him and walked out the door slamming it shut behind me. I found Nix at the bar. He looked as though he was ready to explode. As soon as he laid eyes on me his eyes softened.

“Trix.” He nodded at me as I walked over to him. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder. “What was that all about? And don’t tell me it was because of Payne.”

“No, she called our son a bastard.”

“Then she deserved what she got.”

I laughed. “I think she’s learned her lesson. If not she won’t get off so easy next time.”

Seeing what Trix did to Alex made my dick hard. The girl was an all around badass. She didn’t hold back. She went straight for what she felt was right. Whether it was torturing someone to get what she wanted or beating someone so close to death just because they crossed a line. It was her. She held a darkness within that most couldn’t match. One that rivaled mine. A darkness we had in common. Neither of us could submit to anyone. She is so unlike Zoelle. So unlike any woman I had ever met. She was one of a kind. And she was mine. Not really though—she was no one’s.

I looked at her and a feeling of sadness came over me. One I wasn’t used to. Emotions were dangerous. And when it came to Trix I was over flowing with so many I didn’t know what to do. I wanted to fuck her and strangle her at the same time. Fight with her until she would submit. She wouldn’t though and maybe that is why I wanted it so badly. To see someone so strong let her guard down, let everything go for me and for me alone.

Didn’t matter though. She wasn’t really mine anymore, yet I was holding her in my arms as if she was. “Let’s get you home.” I pressed a kiss to the top of her head. She shrugged out from my arms and walked away.

I sat down at the bar.

“Need a drink?”

I looked up at the prospect who was standing behind the bar and nodded. “Whiskey.”

He quickly poured a glass full of the amber liquid and slid it in front of me. Brandon I think his name was. He was still young, around nineteen years old but the expression in his eyes made him seem older. Like he had seen things that changed him. I knew that look all too well. He was a tough kid, and he was another secret that Trix didn’t know about. Fuck, other than Nitro I was the only one who knew. The poor kid had it about as bad as Trix did. Time would tell though if he could pull himself up through the darkness that surrounded him.

“Nix.”

I looked over at Nitro who took a seat next to me.

“Nitro.” I nodded.

“Cheyenne is gonna take Trix and Zaiden home.”

“Yeah.” I took a drink. “You need to tell her what you’re keeping from her before she finds out.”
