As Nick drove up the driveway, Jay opened the door and smiled as he approached the car. As Sam got out, he took her in his arms and held her tightly and kissed her on the head. He loved her so much.

“How is she, Darlin?” Sam smiled and said she had opened her eyes. Emotion caught in Jay’
s throat as he thought of what he had been doing with Lisa, while Sam was at the hospital with his daughter.

“Jay, she’
s beautiful man. You

re a lucky guy.” Nick chirped in. He smiled as he put his arm around Sam and they went inside.

Lisa put up dinner and Jay poured some wine for all of them except himself. Although given what had happened, he felt like he could use a drink…or better still a line.

Over dinner, Sam told Jay all about the baby and how she looked better. He smiled and asked her if she had decided on a name yet. Nick laughed and said:

“Dude, that little girl is a mini version of you. You should call her Jaime!” They all laughed but Jay and Sam looked at each other; the look in their eyes said it all. Nick had found their daughter’
s name.

“Nick, at the radio station tomorrow, I’
m telling them about her and announcing formally Sam

s and my engagement, OK?”  Nick nodded. Lisa looked at Jay, who didn

t return her look or even seem to acknowledge what had nearly happened earlier. Lisa knew he was just embarrassed and she would hear him making love to Sam later. But deep down he would be thinking what it could have been like with her. She wasn

t giving up.

As Sam undressed, Jay sat on the bed looking at her. Her skin was milk white and so soft and silky; as she stood there in front of him smiling, wearing just her bra and panties, he stood up and went over to her and touched her shoulder lightly with his finger. She shivered as he traced a line from her shoulder down between her breasts, with his index finger. She looked deep into his eyes and he into hers. His finger lingered on her breast as he felt her nipple harden and become erect under his touch. Seductively he slid the strap of her bra off her shoulder, all the time looking at her. She was so sexy, so damn hot. He moved his head slightly and kissed her; barely touching her lips with his, the desire to be one with her very evident.

Jay picked her up and put her gently on the bed and covered her with his hard body.  He kissed her hard, a vision of what he had done with Lisa flashed through his head. Jay closed his mind to that. He buried his face in her neck. He was so damn hard and he needed to make love to her.

“Geeze, Sam,” he whispered huskily. “I need to make it with you.” She giggled. And her arms went around his waist and pulled him down on her.

He knew he couldn

t make love to her; it was only a week since their daughter was born. Jay rolled off her and lay back on the bed. Sam desperately wanted him.

“Jay, I’
m sorry.” She could feel the tears building up. As he held her close he said fondly.

“Babe, I can wait. You just make me so hard Darlin.” She laughed. “I love you Samantha.” She slipped her hand into his pants. He was so hard. Jay took her hand out and raised it to his lips.

“Sam, as soon as Jaime is strong, I want you both in LA with me.” He held himself up on his elbow. “I want us all to return home together.”

In the room next door Nick was fucking Lisa

s brains out but she was fantasizing it was Jay making out with her. Every thrust Nick made into her, she closed her eyes and internally she was moaning Jay

s name. She only had a sample of how he felt and she loved it but she wanted more and she knew he wanted her too.

At the radio station the next morning the interview was in full swing, they had taken some calls from fans on air. The disc jockey was in full roll and had put on their latest hit. After the commercial break he turned on the mic and said:

“Guys, you seem to be visiting here quite a lot, even when you’re not being interviewed or playing a gig. Would there be any particular reason for that?” They all laughed.

“Yeah, there is actually.” Jay said, he looked across at Nick who was grinning. “My fiancée has just given birth to our first child.” He smiled. The disc jockey looked across at him and said:

“Congratulations, Jay. What was it?” Jay scratched his head and said.

“Thanks, Tom. I am now the proud Dad of a little girl, Jaime. She’
s quite ill though,” he looked at the disc jockey. “She was born ten weeks early. But she

s a fighter.”

“So, is this the end of the wild man days of GM Jay?” Jay and Nick laughed.

“Well, never say never in this business. But seriously, my girlfriend Sam and I are very happy and she can’
t wait to move out to LA.” Jay said. “To make sure I

m a real good boy!” They all laughed. And the disc jockey turned to Nick and said:

“I hear you’
ve been partying hard with a local girl, Nick. Is there a chance; like Jay here that you

re going to settle down?” Nick was grinning. He knew his adoring female fans were tuned in with baited breath.

“Not a chance, Tom.” He said. “But you know, I’
m open to offers.” They roared with laughter. And as the interview was concluded, Tom said:

“I’
d like to thank you both for coming in today, and again congratulations on becoming a dad, Jay. Always a pleasure to meet you guys.” They all shook hands and he put on one of their previous hits.

Outside as they made their way to the waiting car, Jay asked Nick about him and Lisa.

“Man, that girl doesn’
t know what she wants. I swear, she told me she wasn

t leaving her husband because of a few weeks of being with me in LA; then she tells me she did because she thought we were serious.” He got into the car followed by Jay. “I

m not the faithful type you know that. She expects me to stop being who I am and go choose wall coverings.” They laughed.

“It’
s not an unusual request from a woman. Fuck this man, gotta settle down some time you know.” Nick put his hands behind his head and whistled a tune of theirs.

“Like you Jay?” They looked at each other. “Fuck, you banged more women than fucking Valentino.” He laughed and they high-fived with both hands.

“Yeah, it’
s all good but you need to have someone who cares about you, not just about the fame. I

m thirty nine Nick; I

m lucky to be alive and I am thankful to have a second chance at life, you know. We can

t rock forever man. This shit will kill us.” Nick looked at him; in all the years they knew each other, he couldn’t remember Jay ever been so mature.

“You fucked your last groupie then Jay?” A wicked smile crossed his face as he said:

“In this business; Nick my man, you can never say never!” They joked around some more but in their own minds, they were both very pensive.

At the hospital a month later, Jay held his daughter for the first time. She was tiny, and so helpless. Tears built up in his eyes. He put his arm around Sam and kissed her on the cheek.

“Thank you.” He said as he turned back to his baby daughter and kissed her on the forehead.

“For what?” Sam asked her hand on his arm whilst touching her daughter’
s tiny hand.

“For giving me Jaime.” He was feeling very emotional. He felt like he was the luckiest man alive.

He had spent the last month here with Sam. The band was due to go on tour in a week. But none of that seemed to mean anything now as he held his baby daughter.

The doctor, that had attended Sam

s pregnancy, came up to them. She smiled at Jay and touched Sam

s arm.

“What a happy scene. How are you Sam?” She asked. Sam smiled. She never felt happier than she did this past month or so.

“When can we take Jaime home doc?” Jay asked. He was anxious to get back to LA and get rehearsing with the band. The sooner he got back the sooner he would be off tour and they could get into family life proper.

“She’
s getting very strong.” Dr. Mallon took the baby from Jay and looked at her. She was putting on a little weight. “Give it another week anyway. I

ll review this then and if she has put on another few ounces, then she can go home.” She handed the baby back to Jay and for the first time saw the striking resemblance of him and the child. He was a good looking man and his daughter was a beautiful little girl.

Later that evening, Jay was sitting on the sofa strumming his guitar. Sam was reading the evening paper. As she turned the page there was an article about soaring prices on the property market, then she saw a picture of Dan, he was claiming that Jay had assaulted him the previous summer and that he had broken up their marriage.

She gasped as she read.

Glam Metal lead- guitarist, thug in make up!

“He met my wife at a show in a gallery, she went back to his car, I followed him and tried to talk to my wife but he struck out and began to beat me.

Never have I been so badly beaten. I am a respectable business man and this thug wearing make- up decides he can behave so badly and get away with it”.
Sam let the paper fall back onto the table. Jay looked over at her and saw the look of horror on her face.

“You OK, babe?” He asked, still strumming the guitar. She tried to smile but he was beside her and saw the headline. He stood up straight and swore. “Where does he live Sam?” She shook her head.

“Jay he’
s not worth it.” She could feel the tears sting her eyes. “He

s a sorry git Jay. Forget it; we

ll be out in LA soon.” There was desperation in her voice. Jay was a hothead too.

He reached for his phone and took the number of the paper and dialed.

“Hey there want to speak to the editor.” His accent very strong. “This is GM Jay. I believe you’
ve published a libelous story about me.” Sam looked at him. “OK dude, I

ll meet you in town tomorrow.” He hung up; looked at Sam and said a little too harshly. “I

m gonna bury that sonofabitch!” She got up; went over to the fire and sat down on the hearth. Even now, he was threatening to destroy her happiness. Jay came over and sat in front of her. He reached for her hand. “Sam, I have to stop him this time. I feel a total bastard for not going after him for what he did to you and Jaime; I have to put an end to this now.” She looked into his eyes. She couldn

t wait until they moved.
